Alphastorm
Well, Alphastorm here. I've been lurking here for some time, but only now I've created an account. I started playing Fire Emblem when I rented Path of Radiance on a game store, and fell in love with the style. The "units die for good instead of coming back in the end of battle" was a new thing to me, but as soon as I got used to it, I've lost count of how many times I reseted my Game Cube whenever I made a fatal mistake. Then I played Radiant Dawn on the Wii, followed by Awakening and Fates. My favourite Lord is Ike (Being the first one I've played with), and I'm not sure if I hate any of the characters. Since I'm from Brazil, apologies in advance for any grammar mistakes (I don't use translators at all). I'm not too good at this "introduction" thing (more of a lurker), but anyway. Good to be here! Ragnell is FE's Greninja. If it is in the game, it is a nerfed version of the previous game it appeared in.
SpacelessZarius
Hello and welcome to the forums, how yes the reset count is real for those who want their characters to live XD
Ycine
Welcome to the Forest, Alphastorm! Don't worry, your introduction was fine. Have a nice day and enjoy your stay!
Deviddo
Welcome to the community, Alphastorm! Never forget, in Awakening, Ragnell is a one-handed throwing sword that anyone can use.
Alphastorm
Thanks, SpacelessZarius! And thanks, Deviddo!About Ragnell: Yeah. Mt 18 in PoR/RD, Mt 15 in Awakening, Mt 13 in Fates. With a -3 double attack speed. I had to farm so many statues to make his speed and skill "acceptable" for PvP in Fates. :c I cri everytiem
Deviddo
I guess I see what they were doing, they probably wanted to nerf Ragnell in Awakening simply because it was no longer a beautiful and powerful blade, merely a shade of it's former self or something. And in Fates Ragnell and Ike were probably nerfed since they were no longer the main lord and his sword. I'm also not an expert or anything, these are just my guesses. Alphastorm
Yes, yes. I agree. Even with the nerfs, Ragnell is the strongest 1-2 range sword in the game (Siegfried and Raijinto have 11 might, but their other bonuses more than compensate for that) and can activate skills, Levin Sword and Kodachi can't say the same. But only 75 hit and a -5 avoid hurts sometimes. Coupled with Ike's low skill (29 w/o statues bonuses and pair-ups), it can be really hard to land a hit sometimes. And only 29 speed (-3 when attacking with Ragnell), you won't be doubling anyone with 22 speed or more, which is sad. Since amiibos are kind of a "physical DLC", I wish they made them a little better. The lack of personal skills hurts too.But it's better than nothing. At least I can use my favourite Lord outside of Smash, since I sold my GC years ago. :C----About Awakening: You're right. By the time of FE 13, Ragnell lost its blessing and started to deteriorate.
