Can't Trade in FE9: PoR

Good morning, everyone! I'd like to be a bit upfront with what I'm doing here: using Dolphin to emulate FE9 since it was one of my favorites, and I've long-since lost/sold/given my original disc of it up.

On to the problem, though. Using Dolphin 5.0 and I've downloaded the ROM from a certain emulating paradisaical site. I've used a vid to get the game working at a worthwhile speed and even manage to get the battles playing out a respectable pace. My trouble comes in when I try to trade items from one unit to another, however. I can't seem to do it. The cursor launches itself back up to the first unit's first inventory slot and regardless of what I select after that, no items/weapons will be swapped between units.

eg. Ike killed the boss of Chapter 1 and got his Iron Axe, which I immediately tried to give to Boyd before Seizing. Using Boyd, I approached Ike, selected "Trade", put the cursor over the Iron Axe in Ike's inventory and pressed "A". The cursor immediately jumped back to Boyd's topmost inventory slot and no matter what I did, whether it was pressing "A" again or trying to highlight something else before pressing "A", nothing in either character's inventory was moved.

What do, lads?

UPDATE: It seems to outright ignore my selections at times. When a question to watch a tutorial appears, I'll highlight "No" and press "A", and it'll start up the tutorial video anyway. I can press start to skip it, or even press "B", our beloved Cancel button, when the question appears to not watch it. This also happens when choosing enemies. If I highlight and press "A" on a different enemy than it defaults to, the character will instead attack the default enemy. This is an odd issue.

My fault. Turns out it was a control mapping mix-up. User error, you might say.
