Carrion
Do you guys know of any GBA sprites modeled to look like the SNES Fire Emblems? Specifically the magic casting animations. If there aren't any do you have recommendations of where to start to make them myself? Like a good class to base it off of? I'm an amateur spriter with only MS paint at my disposal but I'm willing to make them myself and then make them public for the use of everyone. Dinar87
As someone relatively new to sprite making, is MS paint any good compared to the likes of GIMP?And, as far as I know, I don't think there's many SNES sprites available in GBA FE hacks. There's ONE (that looks somewhat different to most normal FE battle sprites) that I've found in this video (at 1:03). It might not be what you're looking for though.... Also, there's Leaf in GBA form near the end of the video so there's that at least... Edited July 2, 2016 by Dinar87

I'm probably going to start editing down Lyon's Necromancer Sprite as a basis for unmounted magic classes. If I skip him pulling his cape back and just use his arm going up and down its the closest I will likely get to something resembling the magic casting from SNES. I'm not sure how I will address this critical animation though.
Carrion
UPDATE: I started work on editing Lyon's sprite to look like the SNES MageFighter/Dismounted Mage Knight type classes. I know the shading is pretty garbage and in general is not very good. But i think its decent for a first draft i guess and ill reserve the judgement up to you guys. Any advice/critique/constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated.
Dinar87
Maybe this is just because I'm a noob but what the heck do you mean your shading isn't very good!? The only thing I'd change would be the colours of the cape and t-shirt but other than that it looks great! If you'd allow me I could show you how bad my sprites are to make you feel good about yourself. I think I'm going to make the cape look a little less flowing so it doesn't seem so regal. And the colors were kind of just done haphazardly without any thought. It was based off a generic ally soldier as you can tell from the legs. the head seems kind of goofy and i cant really place why or what to do with it. I tried replacing it with a sage head but it didn't seem much better EDIT: Changed the cape a little bit and recolored it to Erk's color scheme. Also have a version with the sage head.
