Tamanoir
The possibility of Kyosuke not maxing Luck is kinda worrying. That's his best and most defining stat after all.
Acacia Sgt
I take it that lost Battle Mastery mentioned is the one of taking down the R-Gun Rivale? I'm thankful the equivalent chapter in SRW Alpha is much more easier, the R-Gun only has 4000 HP, hahahaha. Can't really complain about Ingram. Thanks to him it made taking down Euzzeth a much needed difficulty drop after all the struggle that was Laiodeccia. Heather also appears in an other hack, A Sacred Dawn. also a pegasus knight Wait, if I remember right, A Sacred Dawn was supposed to... then how does she... ah, nevermind. [spoiler=ASD details]What I mean is that I thought it took place 20 years after this hack. So seeing Heather still practically the same seems weird to me unless Ray retconned her appearance in the first one. To be honest, I never payed full attention to that other hack's development, unlike this one's. Mage Knight 404
Good ol' Heather. There was no real reason why I decided to keep her unchanged between the two ROM hacks, other than just because. I even mention that much on this Tumblr post I made on Heather. Tamanoir
Heather is either a phoenix or Rei Aynami. I don't see any other explanation.
BBHood217
I actually would kinda like to see Heather Emblem become a reality, assuming FEXNA gets released some time within our lifetimes that is.
Azure Sen
Heather is either a phoenix or Rei Aynami. I don't see any other explanation. Alternatively, she's a (presumably) far less morally dark grey Touko Aozaki from Kara no Kyoukai, meaning she has a ton of backup bodies and her consciousness shifts to one of them whenever her current body dies. (So she's basically a walking Phoenix Mode, is the joke.) Edited November 14, 2016 by AzureSen
BBHood217
Chapter 18x: Silenced Magic Eliwood gets closer to the Dragon's Gate. But one more obstacle stands in his way. Uhai's directions check out. As the rest go on ahead, Eliwood worries about his father. Leaf reassures him that he's fine and tells him to remain optimistic. Which seems hard to do right now for some reason. Up ahead, the two are shouting over Ray trying to spring the upcoming ambush. Eliwood quickly calms them down. Not that it matters as the enemy's already aware of them. He's already planned out everything in meticulous detail to ensure 100% success on eliminating Eliwood. And the ambush is sprung. You heard him, let's prepare. Ray, Sanger, and Altenna will sit this one out for now. Gotta save the big guns for the big showdown at the Gate itself. I look forward to your performance, because the other one's is lacking. For starters, let's get a preview of Renault's replacement. But there was no one. At least the item's still there. Peculiar. Seems whoever's replacing Renault, if any, will have to remain a secret for now. Or maybe Renault was removed entirely. Who knows. The two cavaliers finish up their support. And Lynoan gets dangerously close to capping her level, with several chapters still left to go before she can promote. I really shouldn't be neglecting this guy. As always, one peg unavoidably reaches Merlinus. She's quickly taken care of. Marcia tries to keep up with her fellow peg. Annoying, but it's speed at least. Look at those amazing stats. However, she might not be able to make full use of them right now. An unknown variable completely ruins his calculations. This opportunity must not be wasted. More later. BBHood217
Chapter 18x part 2 We need to hustle before Kishuna leaves and allows Aion to use magic again. This kid's gonna kill snowstorms just fine. That's great. That's not great. Neither is that. And back to great again. These two attempt a back attack. But we were ready for them. Up front, we start attacking the helpless Aion. Cool, I don't have to steal it. But it falls on deaf ears. Aion's a little hard to hit. But he eventually goes down. Not again. This is gonna help a lot. With Aion dead, Kishuna's now gonna stick around forever until we poke him. And poke him we will. The pegs grow closer. Oh hey, it's Sad Linoan again. As everyone gets into position, Kyo and Luna finish their support. Here's how I'd write it: Luna's bored of Alex and wants Kyosuke now, who's just annoyed that now he's got two clingy girls who happen to be ranged specialists. We take on the hero first. Luna chips away at him while dodging all of his attacks. And she takes him out, earning an Eliwood-like level up. The warrior's next. Luna softens him up big time. And finishes leveling like so. She's quickly rescued out of the way as the warrior can one shot her. A few turns of attacking and getting rescued later, Raph takes him out. And gets stronger for it. Don't worry, this is perfectly fine. The pegs cannot be attacked at all. The sniper eventually falls, with Heather getting the finish. Last is the general. He's on a fort and has a ton of defenses. Magic could take him out easily, but it's currently unavailable. Unless... We remove the magic seal. I wonder why Kishuna's combat animation is off in vanilla FE7. It works just fine. After that one poke, everyone takes cover. And Kishuna takes his leave. It's fine, there's no chapter 19xx to get in this run anyway. With Kishuna gone, the general goes on the move. Just as planned. A few magic nukes later, and we're finally all done. Also, Sakura's achieved maximum thief. I'll need another guiding ring soon. Let's get outta here. Everyone contemplates on the mysterious figure. Shh, no spoilers Ray. It came, and it went. Can't worry about it now, we have a dad to rescue. Next time: Dad isn't rescued...
Acacia Sgt
Considering Aion is a palette swap of Marquess Araphen, I find amusing seeing the mug with green hair, remembering the Marquess in this hack discriminates unrealistic hair colors, heh. BBHood217
I'm actually surprised that the hack made no mention of Aion's resemblance to him. BBHood217
Phew, this chapter's a big one. Chapter 19: Ancient Beasts We're finally here. Time for the big showdown. The mysterious place is really affecting Ninian. Geez Ray, lighten up. They decide to turn back for now. But it's already too late. Ephidel indulges in his villainy, getting the heroes all riled up before warping away with Ninian. Whoa there Ray, there are kids in the group. Like that Kid kid. Ephidel leaves the fighting to Darin. Get it yet? He keeps flaunting his skills that he'll never actually show off because he gets killed off without ever getting into a fight. That's the joke! Anyway, Darin continues to be blinded by ambition and gladly agrees to be their expendable pawn. Leaving Ephidel to make his delivery. Elbert continues to defy him. But gets shanked for his efforts. Ingram prepares to put his plan into motion. Oh, and some paladin boss taunts Eliwood or something. I've got my own preparations to do too. Here are the participants (plus Edmond). Luna's gotten really good with the bow. So she decides to take up archery full time. Imagine, a bow-wielding healer. What an innovative concept that has totally never ever been done before or since, right...? Everyone starts like this so we can kick off the map like so... Open door, kill sniper, profit. Just magic, but at least it's magic. Heather consoles Sad Linoan again. Snipers in this hack get +15 crit like swordmasters and berserkers. I need to keep that in mind with enemy snipers. And then, a new face shows up. Oh, it's that guy from Kid and Karsh's support. *google* Oh no, another Chrono Cross character. That means yet another lack of attachment from me. He shares Legault's role, but fortunately not his 6 move. It should be easier to catch him. Even though I already have a perfectly good knight. The paladin boss dies or something and drops this. These two make the perfect team. Another gift for Luna. Cool beans. Here's Luna dodging herself. Like I said, no trouble catching him. How he got into the Fang is a mystery, but crossovers don't usually fret over those sort of things. Viper offers what he knows, and his services too as he no longer has any loyalty with the Fang. Your services probably won't be needed, though. More later.
BBHood217
Chapter 19 part 2 Thieves are starting to show up. But we're already upon them. I'll be taking that. And this too while I'm at it. One level left for these two. Mine. Can he hit three capped stats? Attacks plinking on little girls amuse me. Holy crap, she finally gained defense! Transformation sequence go! If only Tomoyo can see her now. And taking a cue from FE8, sages gain staffs and light magic. Mia and Sakura are such good friends that they both even share the same weapon types. Hey, Marcia's supposed to be the bad peg. Kyosuke finally takes his suit to its absolute limit. Darn, he missed capping def. Sakura starts training her new staff powers. More loot. Time for Alteisen's upgrade. Say hello to the Alteisen Riese. It'll be later before it sees any action, though. After several turns of nothing, these reinforcements finally show up. Here, have a level montage. Again, I prioritize exp over ratings. But eventually, the well dries up. Now she can use that barrier staff we just got. The fight against Darin starts with a chip. A rather big chip. Which also caps her level, so she's obviously not getting the kill. Ray steps up to the plate. And makes him change weapons. Making it easier to sword him to death. He makes one last gasp for help. But he has long since been abandoned. And he leaves Ray with this awesomeness. Afterwards, several more turns are spent on the secret shops. And no, you can't preview them on the prep screen. Tempting, but they can be acquired elsewhere. Let's try the other one. That's more like it. Two physics, please. Everything's finally all done. They briefly pity the guy they just killed. Then it's onwards to the big rescue. More later. BBHood217
Chapter 19 part 3 Eliwood searches for his father. Not helping, Megan. There he is. And Ninian too. Eliwood takes Ninian. While Ray takes Elbert. But their escape is blocked. As if, Kyosuke can turn him to mush. But it seems Jaffar was only there to distract them from leaving, as he has more pressing matters elsewhere whatever those may be. The ceremony goes underway. Elbert is hit with a super move. And Ninian opens the Gate. You know it's serious when the dialogue doesn't bring up the unedited CG at all. ...and it's stupid again. There's a time and a place for that, and now is really not the time nor the place for it. Everything starts shaking. Dude, tone it down will you? Even Kelik wasn't that vulgar. Thank you, Captain Obvious. And now we're all screwed. Ingram must really be bored if he's doing generic apocalypses. And just when things look really bad... ...it gets even worse. Nils attempts his own rescue. Nice job, Naruto. Ingram looks very annoyed. He warps away to safety and leaves Ephidel to his fate. Ephidel died as he lived: As a joke. The dragon is gone. Much to Ingram's chagrin. He moves to capture the siblings. But gets shanked for his efforts. Leaving him with no choice but to flee. And the rescue ends with Elbert saying his final farewell. And no, that's not a vision. That really actually happened. Next time: More arena abusing, maybe...?
Acacia Sgt
Maybe it's my Chrono bias, but I do find it a shame that detail about the Acacia Dragoons (or at least just General Viper, but to me that would sound a little unusual if it was just him alone) being involved dies as soon as it was brought up (even worse considering Glenn and Karsh are early recruits in this hack). Oh well... Edited November 16, 2016 by Acacia Sgt
BBHood217
Well, we're about halfway done with this hack. The stage is now set for the epic latter half, featuring more characters not native to FE7, new ways to fight familiar battles, and a race to stop the Time Diver and his plan to summon dragons. Chapter 20: Aftermath You could be a little nicer about it. Seriously, what the hell? How are you his friend again? Because had that not just been narration, someone would've slapped the rude out of you. Anyway, the siblings discuss what happened to them since they and Eliwood last met. Basically, the Black Fang finally caught up with them recently. They were both taken captive along with Elbert who managed to free them, but their escape attempt failed and Nils ended up back on Valor. He went into hiding until he sensed the Gate's opening and arrived there just in time for his super special awesome rescue. Ninian tries to reassure that no one else was to blame for her own shortcomings The discussion then moves to Ingram. The siblings can only open the Gate, the actual summoning is done by Ingram himself. You tell me, you're the one who hacked him into the game. His true motives can only be speculated, but it nonetheless involves destruction which definitely sounds like something Ingram would do. Dragon summoning required quintessence, which is why Ingram attempted to start a rebellion that would've turned into a full war. Draining Elbert and his escorts was his backup plan, which they just barely thwarted. But they didn't thwart it in time to save Elbert. What, you don't wanna stick around to see if you'd win that 100 bucks? Ninian feels really guilty for her actions. Eliwood reassures her that she's not to blame for what Ingram forced her to do. And then the Black Fang catches up to them. Outside, everyone speculates on Ingram's next move. They know it's only a matter of time before he comes back. But that's for later. There's an imminent battle coming right now. Eliwood joins in, hoping to prevent civilian casualties. And Nils is told to take cover. This ragtag group should be enough, and also they need to level too. Shops have iron and steel, basic tomes, and heal and mend staffs. The silver card should help in stocking up on them. As the battle begins, Ninian insists on helping. Nils finally concedes. Y'know, not everything needs a name. Eliwood attempts to dissuade her. But Ninian changes his mind with a demonstration of her powers. So Eliwood lets her stay. He'll be glad he did. And yes, that first buff was free. More later. BBHood217
Chapter 20 part 2 Let's start by lighting up the place. Man, look at that range. Oh look, another chance to beat up on that worst female lord ever. Another one also appears with the coming reinforcements. That fire would normally hurt a lot more. Then again, she missed. Villages get raided. Mia finally starts gaining levels again. There's a more proper display. That defense buff's just too good. You're kinda like Raymond but with an axe. Sweet, but I'll need a lot more of these. Just one away from capping mag. The pegs' support end with Sad Linoan standing up for herself. She'll sadly achieve great things on her own. We get a brief glimpse of the boss before the fog covers him up again. He still has something worth stealing. Mia finally gets started on her light magic training. How dare you contribute nothing except helping to introduce the English community to Fire Emblem! You deserve death! This pirate thought he could pull a fast one on me. Archer on ballista also bites it. And we claim Altenna's property. Maybe when I find another whip. The reinforcements start pouring in. Better be careful not to cross that invisible line yet. You are definitely not getting that whip. I'm starting to wonder why I'm still using this guy. Especially when this guy already exists. And that's all the villages. Hey, she actually wants to steal now. I wonder if I can still make something out of you. Eh, dancer level. The reinforcements finally dry up, leaving me to try to make something out of Karsh. Also, Eliwood finally fills out all his support slots. There was an image that perfectly represented this, but I unfortunately cannot find it right now. So, let's hit the arena. Fighters have it bad in the arena, constantly going up against sword wielders with steel swords. He still had a 100% win rate regardless, which totally had nothing to do with a defense buff that stays if their turn ends with them rescued. Anyway, that sucks. You're out, and unfortunately by association so is Kid. Sakura mends and torches her way to this disappointing level up. At least she can use physics now. Karsh at least still has one last use for me. The thing is stolen, and then we move in for the kill. Eliwood levels up from not killing him. Ninian gives him a second shot. And Eliwood levels up again from actually killing him. Though they failed to save Elbert, they can still save more lives. But they'll need help, and Uther's just the man to give it. I could've sworn I saw Ray smirk just a little when he said that. I think it even sounded just a tiny bit sarcastic too. Unbeknownst to Eliwood, Hector is currently occupied with things of the utmost import. Ray thinks he's making more insulting potshots, but trust me. There's a very good reason why Hector is unavailable in this hack..... Leaf meanwhile sent news to Eleanora of Elbert's death. Elbert's nobility to his very end reminded him of his own parents. Eleanora, meanwhile, seems to have responded by sending someone to them. Plum here first like, reassures them that Eleanora is perfectly fine. Then tells them that she like, was sent to join them. Eliwood considers it, but ultimately totally accepts. He'll just like, ask Uther to have Ostia reinforce Pherae. For sure. I was? Yeah, power of friendship! Ingram doesn't stand a chance! Speaking of which... INQUIRY: DOES LIMSTELLA = ROBOT NOW? Ingram has gone into hiding to recover. In the meantime, his minions will carry out his will. Oh crap, the Four Fangs got an upgrade. Anyone powerful enough is fair game, faction is not an issue. Next time: Nils faints.
Acacia Sgt
Looking them side by side, if I didn't knew better, I would think Leaf and Plum were twins. I'd say, having the Morphs unchanged it makes Ingram looks out of place, even if it's kinda the point. Maybe if the trio had been other characters instead... hmm... BBHood217
Chapter 21: A Mercenary's Stand Typical. You lose a bet, and you quickly try to back out of it. That's right, keep ignoring it. But you still owe me 100 bucks. At the Black Fang's snow fortress, the Neo Four Fangs are assembled. Roll call! All of them are OCs. Sonia gives them their mission. Which they gladly accept. Jack, however, seems to have reservations about it. But he'll still perform his duty to the Fang nonetheless. And the four are sent out. Meanwhile, our heroes have come to a fortress at Ostia's outskirts. To avoid enemy spies, Uther will meet them there in secret. Yeah, what do you mean? It's not like Ray is Uther's brother or anything. Nils appears exhausted. Very exhausted. And he's not to be moved because...? ...gameplay reasons. Outside, mercenaries have appeared. Bleak here seeks fame and glory, and attacking Eliwood is just the ticket he needs. Kathy chastises him for going against the team's original ideals. Ideals that apparently bored him. Kathy runs off as Bleak prepares for battle. We better prepare too. Our party, plus the two lords, Ray, and Sanger. Altenna whips it good. We're ready to protect Nils. And by "protect Nils", I mean "kill all the enemies". So like, how good are you? Predictably, she's like totally better than that Isadora hag. And over here, Heath's replacement is an NPC instead of an enemy and she even has her own team of generics too. Now I'm glad I didn't waste time on Nanna. More later.
BBHood217
Chapter 21 part 2 The map starts with Sakura opening the door. On her turn, Kathy thanks her by healing her even though she's already at full HP. The generics go to town. These guys are actually pretty competent. In fact, the peg was the only casualty in the end. And more generics show up. Bringing along a familiar face. A face with very underwhelming stats at this point. His two subordinates even have higher levels and stats than him. It was very convenient that she moved closer to our starting position. Eliwood quickly understands her plight and takes her in. Knock knock. It's Altenna. I like to imagine that this gif is what actually happens every time Kyosuke uses his stake: (There was another gif where it fired Claymore missiles, but I couldn't find it.) Excellent, you'll go well with your new support partner that we just got. Might as well. Welcome back, the bench is that way. I get the kill instead of the generics, so I actually get the dropped item. Look what I got for you, Raph. Kaching. Luck is on his side. And here's him dodging his support partner. Like, shopping spree! I buy 3 barriers, a torch staff, another physic... ...and this overpowered-looking thing here. Leaf would be proud. If I work on him, he might become on par with or better than Luna. We'll see. Let's look at Bleak here as we approach him. He has that overpowered-looking weapon, so we'll be sticking with ranged attacks. Kathy still tries to reason with him. But he just will not be persuaded. So she walks away with only this level up and nothing else. I really should leave him to thieving and supporting Altenna, putting him in the front lines is a major risk. I need another guiding ring. The generic troub saves Matthew from the brink of death. Yes, half HP is almost dead for thieves. At least he's fixing his issues now. Great going there. Ray puts down his own creation. And his future becomes bleak. His, however, is still bright. And this thing. With their leader defeated, the remaining mercs scatter. Later after the battle, Uther finally arrives. Why were you worried about him? Is he like your brother or something? As Uther extends his condolences, Eliwood tells him everything that's transpired regarding their encounter with Ingram. Uther asks for time to mull it over. They consider their options, but ultimately decide that it's all up to them to stop Ingram. It's off to work we go. But before that, Uther has made his decision. Everyone's ready to go. Uther makes use of Ninian's power. And discovers Ingram's whereabouts. Oh yeah, Grandbell. I've forgotten about them. There's still time to stop Ingram. But Uther suggests going the opposite direction instead. To find the living legend. Next time: Sand.

BBHood217
Chapter 22: Legendary Dunes Normally, people don't willingly venture into such hostile environments. But there's someone there that Eliwood must meet. Be sure to bring plenty of water. Otherwise, you'll end up like him. The girls somehow don't share his exhaustion. This is apparently due to game mechanics. *insert lol vision here* Their search for the living legend has come up empty so far. Eliwood's kindness confuses Ninian. If he only knew, but let's not get too far ahead of ourselves here. Somewhere, the living legend himself senses someone approaching. Jenny assumes it was Chris before being corrected. She's still concerned about him nonetheless. But she's confident that he'll make it back okay. Unless he's not an overpowered sage, then he might be in trouble. A decent gesture, but Athos simply finds it funny due to his immortality. He appreciates the happiness that she brings to his life. Good thing too, because that happiness is about to become fleeting... Outside, Eliwood chances upon the aforementioned bandits. And kinda feels out of the loop too. Oh good, he's still a sage. Wonder if that means she's also still a sniper. And these two are still Paul and Jasmine. Unlike in the original, the "thing" here was specifically mentioned to be a tome. Does that mean I'll get it use it later? Anyway, the bandits move to take it by force. We need to get to him quickly. Because if I don't, he'll probably wipe out all the enemies all by himself. As seen here, he's very capable of doing just that. Hey, I can make a comparison here. They're about equal, except Sakura is faster and has more res than def. We're ready to airlift him outta there. I just hope he doesn't move too far away. While the rest handle the enemies, Eliwood heads south to meet someone. Ooh, res. The desert's magic must be rubbing off on her. Suddenly, a brief sandstorm occurs. And from it emerges... Aah! Another Bugeyes! His search for buried treasure gets him involved in the battle. Let's make sure he's on our side. Welcome to the team, Bugeyes 2. This guy's a special class. He seems to be just a berserker without the crit bonus, but I wonder..... More later. BBHood217
Chapter 22 part 2 As I perform the rescue, notice how the surrounding enemies suddenly evaporated. C'mon, you can do better than that. Bugeyes 2 holds onto Chris to stop his rampage. It took Raph picking his killer axe and killing to finally pull off a crit. Witness the rare brigand critical. Let's visit the map's only house. It's a cameo from FE6, and she can finally blink too! And one that's far away from the bones. Hmm, I wonder... It's true! That thief title isn't just for show, he can steal too. And also use lockpicks, maybe? Anyway, now my thieves are free to promote. But that's a long way off. For now, they'll keep stealing. Where's a guiding ring when you need it? Let's chat with our overpowered sage here. That was productive. And no, he doesn't join; that's for later. Now that's a finish. There's a guiding ring! Snowstorms beware. He doesn't just get anima magic, he also starts staffs at D instead of E. He can start mending right away. The magic girls continue to rule the desert. It's hero time. Now he can kill even without picking his killer axe. Hey, not bad. There might be a whip with your name on it in the future. Bugeyes 2 might not see any action, so here's his combat sprite. I might need two whips. Hmm, I wonder again... The special convo is indeed edited. This part about buried treasure is still the same. But he still likes the sound of it. With only the bosses and an unmoving berserker left, it's time to go treasure hunting. Hmm, I wonder yet again... Oh, there's nothing. Guess you have to be an actual thief and its promoted classes to guarantee getting the item. Like so. While Matthew finds the items immediately, it took Bugeyes 2 a few turns to find this one. I'm not sure I'll get any more pirates to use that on. I only got one pirate, and he didn't stay a pirate for very long. Edmond levels up from all the mending. I forgot to screencap Matthew digging up the light brand. And that's all the treasure. Dancer level. Let's get some supports before we end this. So Heath is Sanger, but why is Priscilla another Linoan? She's already Lyn and Florina. How many Linoan mugs do you need? It's a little hard to tell, but is that actually Angry Linoan? Let's do this one, probably all the way since Eliwood already has Lynoan. More like Lord Bugeyes, am I right? Alright, that's all the treasure and supports. Let's beat those bosses. They're pretty tough and can actually support each other, but that usually isn't a factor. It took a while, but Jasmine eventually goes down. Altenna gets impatient and one shots Paul. So that's that, then. Lopsided for them, that is. Chris of course knows who Eliwood's referring to and will gladly take him there to meet him. But first, he pays his respects to his creator. If she's based on any actual real life friends, please tell me they don't really talk like that. Okay, enough of that. Let's keep it moving. I'd be surprised if I didn't get enough exp for the side chapter. Of course I accept. And by doing so, the quicksands get activated. They first claim Raymond... Then Lynoan... And finally Eliwood. Next time: Magic is banned, again.
Acacia Sgt
And that's where Hector's Lord class and animation went. Well, when you only have so much to work with... I'm gonna guess Fae was talking about Chris with the "searching for treasure" thing, if it wasn't referring to Milanor. Now I just realized, seeing the Lords' levels it's clear which Ch23 you're getting, but can't say I payed attention for Ch25. Ah well, will become more relevant by Ch24 anyway. Mage Knight 404
In truth, I did attempt to use the Hawkzerker as the intended replacement animation, complete with Milanor's scythe, but it proved to be too difficult a task to work in properly at the time, so I had to settle with Hector Lord. It came out better than I expected, admittedly, but Milanor's still not 100% without his trademark scythe. |B
