geozeldadude Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 i've been playing _FE2_ and i'm curious about how the RNG works b/c it seems to change when i reload from a save state. anyone know how the RNG mechanics compare in general across the series? i know that in the GBA games they get used in a sequence, but i don't know about the other games.
Attila Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 From what I've heard, FE1-5 had a 1 RNG system, and basically, if there's a chance something will hit, it'll hit or something along those lines. As of FE6, there's a 2 RNG system or something, where the RNG is determined by different movements, but'll stay the same unless other manipulations happen //Don't quote me on it though, as I probably gave a completely wrong answer
geozeldadude Posted January 23, 2017 Author Posted January 23, 2017 thanks, but i know about the 1 RNG vs. 2. what i was asking was how does it pick the numbers to use? like i said, in the GBA games they use a set sequence of numbers, so you can manipulate them. i'm wondering how they're generated in the other games.
