sirmola
As someone who graduated in may with a planning degree, and just got a job offer, I offer the following warnings: Fair warning: job hunting feels horrible, and you will have no idea why people are not getting back to you, but finally getting a job offer feels great. Fair warning 2: Government job processes take a very long time. Be patient. My job offer was from state government, but the process totaled around 3 months, and is not even over yet. Fair warning 3: Be open to slightly different things, especially if those things set you up for a dream career later. Talk to people in the field, both with the intent to network, and the intent to get advice. I found that a professional organization in my field was doing a two week long event wherein students went to a wide variety of employers, to learn about how they operated. I went, and learned a TON about how my field works in practice, and got many new ideas for potential employers. EDIT: Fair warning 4: I found the campus career center to be good at certain things (like helping with my resume and linkedin), but i found that i had to do most of the actual hunting myself. Go to them, but don't rely soley on them. Edited October 2, 2017 by sirmola
