Opdepov
I spend nothing at all. I did find Fire emblem echoes for sale two days ago though. 20 Euros off. /pleased
Selena4Lyfe
I think I'm in the lower rungs of the Turtle classification. I can't say I regret much, except that I wish I knew how to stop when I was ahead - or behind as is usually the case. I'd have a much larger stockpile if that were the case than I do now. ... Though if I hadn't learned that lesson before now, I wouldn't have all four dancers under my belt, so there's that... The life of a casino hermit must be an agonizing one... Vince777
I haven't spent a dime on the game and by principle I don't want to spend more than it would cost me to buy a full packaged video game. I find their orb package prices to be insulting, quite frankly. Gatcha games are an abomination but I'm too much of a Fire Emblem nerd to stay away entirely from this one and do appreciate new content whenever there is any. I do realize the hypocrisy as I need to rely on whales players spending their money for me to get new things to do. I enjoy making it work and clearing most content as f2p. mampfoid
I just checked my play store bills and I'm a bit shocked. Seems I became a turtle with my last purchase ... Never wanted to spend so much on a game, especially with this lack of (story/plot) depth. I don't regret to have spent something since I enjoy playing FEH daily, but I certainly regret a bit the big amount I spent since April. I started spending with the first Hero fest banner, where I wanted to get a good archer. Instead of Takumi I got Jeorge, but it I was content anyway. My biggest error was to try too hard on NS!Corrin. I eventually got her (-ATK) but since then I purchased orbs in smaller doses. My roster is almost complete, therefore I'll try to spend only on special occasions every 2-3 months from now on. My usual orb packages have been 23 orbs and 75 orbs. Othin
$0 and keeping it that way. This doesn't strike me as a game where spending money increases enjoyment.
SniperGYS
I'm a Clown Fish haha! I have only used money 1 time, and it was when the game has like... 1 month old or less, can't remember really... and I only spend 200$ mexican pesos, in dlls I think is the 20dlls? The bundle with enought orbs for a full session. What I wanted with it: Leo What I got: LEO!!! I was so freakings happy, since I got for I what I payed haha, after that, never bought orbs again... for now
KatarinaCS1
-More than I thought I ever would on a single game, but not more than the craziest gaming package I've bought. I always keep it in the realm of "don't mess up bills or food spending" though. -Ultimately I just consider the money spent a donation to IS saying "hey I like fire emblem, have some money". Since I won't ever see the money again, you could say it's a bad investment, but if the revenue from FEH generates more Fire Emblem games then I feel it was worth it. -Pretty much stated above, a simple notion to support the franchise. I spent early on, but nothing too crazy. Spring Lucina was my first big drop into the game. Seasonals are rough in terms of avoiding the spending itch. Surprisingly the biggest pitfall I did (and last time I decided to spend on FEH, for now) was Dauntless Crimean banner, where I could not pull a Nephenee OR Elincia. Went to almost 5% several times, before being broken by someone not on the banner. I finally pulled both, but only Elincia while I was spending (Nephenee was pulled later with orbs from the TT). After that disaster I decided that I had spent enough. -Most common was the 35 pack for sure. I did go crazy with the 140 pack during periods where I really wanted to pull a specific hero. Kurrin
I bought two 48 packs and one 23 pack, during three separate banners, in that order. I guess that makes me a clown fish, and generally that's how I feel after spending the purchased orbs. Due to the RNG based nature of summons, I feel disinclined to spend any real money on orbs because the chance generally isn't worth the risk/cost. However, as I've done with other Free to Play games, if I've gotten to a point where I feel like I've put in enough time and effort into playing the game and I feel satisfied enough with my experience thus far, than I'll throw a couple bucks out as an expression of my appreciation and support. But I will admit there have been a couple times I've felt needy for some units, which is where the spending has come into play. 1st time was around the second half of the Easter Banner. Got the 48 pack, was hoping for Lucina and/or Camilla. Got Chrom. Felt kinda worth it. 2nd time was for the first Tellius banner. I had just pulled Ike and due to my shameless Ike bias, I decided to toss some money for a 48 pack into the summoning altar as my thanks to the RNG God/dess. That appreciation got me squat, but I had Ike so I was satisfied enough. 3rd time, and for now the last time, I got a smallish 23 pack for the second Hero Fest banner. It was the last day of the banner and my pity rate was pretty high so I wanted to take that last chance just because. I ended up pulling Ninian, which was who I wanted in the first place so at least my money didn't go to waste. I usually go with purchases that aren't too exorbitant and spread them out enough so that they're within an affordable range for me. Will I be spending more in the future? Maybe, maybe not. I'd say overall that the cost wasn't worth the outcome, but as I said above, I'll still show my appreciation on the occasion, so long as the game provides a quality enough experience that I can agree with. Now, very recently, there has been a certain event that has raised a lot of Ayre complaints. When practices take place that I can't bring myself to agree with, I feel zero inclination to spend and as a rant would be completely futile and unnecessary, that is where I shall end this specific focus. If and when practices do improve, however, I may feel a change in tone and decide to spend a bit again.
Usana
More than I realized. Those 13 dollar packs start adding up after awhile. Particularly since I do drop 40 dollar packs from time to time. Basically my history looks like I averaged an orb pack a week, either a 13 dollar pack or a 40 dollar pack. Anyways looks like I can officially call myself a Salmon. Not likely to go too much deeper though. The game just has me feeling burned out on pulls in general. Basically too hard to get what you want, so I am losing interest fast. Anyways for me my big spending and diving in occurred when going for Amelia. It may not be the most effective build she can run, but I really wanted to have a Heavy Blade Amelia. And to maximize that I wanted a plus attack nature. About 4 Amelia's later I finally got it. Basically 1 of every boon except HP, hey at least it wasn't the exact last boon for me to get. My experience is that a 40 dollar drop will net you 1 5*. Maybe 2 with a bit of luck . Or basically 4 Amelia's was at least 150-300 orbs. And yes had I been keeping track I would have bailed much earlier, but that was over the course of the entire banner. Of course after the banner she started stalking me and is now +6. Basically my problem is when I see a unit I generally instantly get a specific image in my mind. Such as having to have a Heavy Blade Amelia because that is what the artwork inspired in me. And with this type of game that is bad bad bad. 1 minute ago, KatarinaCS1 said: -More than I thought I ever would on a single game, but not more than the craziest gaming package I've bought. Since I won't ever see the money again, you could say it's a bad investment, but if the revenue from FEH generates more Fire Emblem games then I feel it was worth it. Basically this. Before heroes released I finally finished my car payments. I basically chuckled and told myself hey as long as you don't exceed the amount of your car payment your savings will continue to grow as usual. Average wise I am actually terrifying close to what my car payment was. I should specify by the way that I don't buy new. Not that rich. But still I never thought I would approach that amount. I thought I was joking. It does mean however, that it hasn't really impacted my finances. Particularly since I have been spending most of my gaming time on Heroes, so that is time that hasn't been spent buying new console/computer games to play. If I were allowed to subtract my usual gaming budget on new games that I haven't really used this year I would easily be in Turtle range and nearing Clown Fish range. In the end though I just feel ill-used by heroes and that feeling only grows stronger. Particularly lately.
Infinite Dreams
-I'm almost certain I'm a Dolphin. Also, I'm Canadian, so that's in CAD. Orbs are more expensive. -It's entertainment, so yes. Dayni
Still a no-spender Clownfish. I've only been tempted once in May, and that was because of the SoV banner being a desert of a pull session (Barring the bad luck of a suboptiomal Peri). My venting is mainly on principle. mampfoid
@Infinite Dreams Funny part is: I'm not even close to max Corrins HM (1,7k), I've got ~30 units with more HM than her, half of them maxed out. She didn't get Blade+ until now, which means I invested less feathers than real money on her (not in total numbers of course). While I like her art (and the fact she's at least not -SPD), I don't like the fact that she is a dragon sitting on a wyvern. They could have made her sprite way cooler without a wyvern. I guess comparing this feeling of being not fully content (partly because of her nature) to the amount of money I spent, made me much more wary of new banners. Okigen
I'm a dolphin - partly because GBP is so damn expensive. Anyway, half of the money was spent in the first 3 months, and since then I managed to limit the spending to a sustainable level (largely because at that point my team was scoring high enough that I no longer had to worry about earning feathers). Very happy with my purchases until this month when the power creep make the game unbalanced and more boring than ever.
Alexmender
Still a Clown fish. I haven't spent more than $40 in this game and that was only during the Hero Fest 2 and SS banner. Depending on how things fare I may spend another $40 next year which I consider fair enough for this type of game.
Nightmayre
Turtle. Around 750 Euros spent. Won't be spending any more on the foreseeable future, though - not unless the plummeting of the game's quality and enjoyability reverses itself, which I just don't see happening any time soon. EDIT: Also IMO there should be a class in-between Clown Fish and Turtle, ranging from 100-400$. There's a big difference between people who may spent a few bucks here and there, probably capping at around 50-100$ over the course of several months, and relatively dedicated spenders who will climb over 100$ with their purposes. Jingle Jangle
I would be considered a Turtle for now. Most of the orbs were well spend, the funny thing is that when I use free orbs I get the character I get. I don't have any regrets, and have plenty of free money at the moment, just waiting of deal to spend it on, At first I wanted to get Takumi, then I mostly spend money during the seasonal banners. I always choose the 75 orb pack due to it being more efficient in the long term. I just check how much I spend two weeks ago, the results surprised me. DLNarshen
I want to say I've probably spent around $250 or so? $70 of that was for the first PoR banner and the following Hero Fest. Afterwards I spent little bits here and there, and admittedly I've regretted it almost every time. I have an addictive personality and summoning gives me a rush. I've gotten better at resisting the urge to spend, but it's scary just how easy and fast it is to complete an IAP. I enjoy this game a lot, but I'm constantly reconciling that with the fact that it can only survive thanks to the funding provided by folks who have similar problems but magnified many times over. Kiran
I'm a clown fish. Barely spent much at all. First was for Delthea banner...it didn't work out. Then I took a long break and spent for the PA/FE4 banner. Got all the units. Didn't spend much at all since I had orbs saved up before this. But I don't think I'm going to spend any more since I'm worried about the new BST/powercreep. I'll see how IS is going to continue with this before I make my final decision. Eridras
I barely broke turtle status with the CYL banner. The orbs I bought got me a neutral Brave Ike and that seemed like a good capper to my spending career. I’ve been f2p since then. I don’t regret spending money, because I’ve had a lot of fun with this game, and it’s been good at giving me things to do. That said, I looked back at my summer spending and saw that the roughly 200$ of orbs I purchased got me exactly two 5-Star units, which were the Brave Ike and a Delthea. That string of bad luck pushed me to stop spending. I spent money as a way of rewarding myself. I teach, and from February on I did a lot of extra hours doing test prep with my students. All of my purchases came from that overtime pay. I think I ended up spending about 1/3 of what I earned, so I didn’t really damage my finances. I usually purchased the 23 orb pack to do a full pull, but I did buy the 75 orb pack a few times if there was someone I really wanted. Shiki
I was expecting way more whales. Mostly the Moby Dick of this site, but still ... - How much money did you spend? Tell us your spending class, based on this chart. I purchased over 600 Orbs. Mind you that 3/4 of this amount was given to me in form of Play cards, so my actual spending is around ~100€ over 8-9 months. That puts me in Clown Fish territory overall and I will not cross that line. - Do you think the money was well invested? Any regrets? As I said, most of the money came in Play cards. I already purchased all the paid apps, I need in my everyday life, so I had really nothing else to spent on it. At least it will keep the game supported, so that's something, right? - What was the reason that you start spending money on this game? There are 3 reason why I decided to use money on this. 1. Hero Fest: Was broke during that time. Tried to get any of the 4 came out with nothing to show. Ironically I now have them all except Takumi. 2. CYL VG: It was a Hector banner after a long time and I really wanted him. Luckily I got him after 2-3 sessions. 3. Ephraim & Eirika BB: Oh, I hated this so much. It marked by biggest spending. Sacrificed at least 200 Orbs for him in the Battle banner, then got him in the Threaten Def one. That was frustating. - If you buy Orbs, what bundle do you choose? 23 for various reasons. For one, the Play cards were mostly 15€ ones, and imo it keeps your spending in check. It gives you the chance to roll more but not excessively more. - Is the game tracking your spending habits? I am a firm believer that this game will only give you the units, if you pay for them. That's how I got half of my 5*s. I found this summer that I was getting most of my 5-star units with my f2p orbs, while the purchased ones got me little to nothing. Case in point: Nohrian Summer got me 3 5-star units in 70 f2p orbs, then 80$ spent going for Summer Corrin got me just a Summer Leo. For CYL, my 75 f2p orbs got me 3 5-star units, and the $40 got me a single Brave Ike. Of course, my first few purchases did get me an above average number of 5-star units. Maybe that’s how they get you.

Sire
I spent $80 total (Two $40 packs, small Clownfish) on Fire Emblem Heroes, both near launch. The first purchase was for Deep Devotion when I was trying for Lyn and Takumi, and the second was for Blazing Shadows in an attempt to salvage my Pity Rate. I did 10 full pulls on Blazing Shadows and did not get a single 5-Star, even when I tried spending 13 more orbs in a last ditch effort to get something... My initial reason for spending was the classic "I want to support this game, so here is some money!" The second time round was to salvage pity rates which ended in failure and I have not spent any money since. (I do not have disposable income because I am unemployed, so I need to be mindful of expenditures. If I had extra, I may have spent some for Bride Cordelia and NS!Corrin) As if my money was well invested, I would say no since I got absolutely nothing (no 5-star characters) with either of my purchases. At least I supported the game, even if I got jack-all in return.
