Crux404
Hello, I'm a long time lurker (+/- 8 years) and decided recently to create a profile mainly beacause I play Fire Emblem Heroes and wanted to join in the discussion (or any forum for that matter). My first FE was Shadow Dragon (which I only realised how good it is years later), and my favorite is FE 7 (which hooked me into the series). Slumber
SD was an odd first game. It's pretty divisive around here... ... Then again, what FE isn't divisive? Anyway, welcome.

colossus86
Yeah the DS games are a bit of a low point in the series imo (besides Fates which i hate with a burning passion), and generally should only be looked at by fans who really care for the mythos, as it was the start of everything. I've always maintained that Sacred Stones is the best entry point to the series because its a rock solid stand alone story without extra mechanics like class swaps, children, bio-rhythm to deal with. Not to mention having the most forgiving game play in the series
Ycine
Welcome to the Forest, Crux404! That's a considerable amount of lurking. (I think I lurk around that much too though) Have a nice day and enjoy your stay!

Not to mention having the most forgiving game play in the series SS has wonderful characters and supports (it is hard for me to say whether or not it beats POR). The class system is also nice without being overbearing (second seal, etc..). Too bad, like all GBA FE, ponies/prepromotes are op and recruits are not worth the effort. I liked the children as characters in Awakening (because it sorta had a plot, flawed as it may be) for their presence. Gen 2 in fates was weird (and kinda sad, since the actual characters aren't bad per say). 5 hours ago, Ycine said: That's a considerable amount of lurking. Personally, I think this is because SD is a bad entry point. Things like the artstlyle can get in the way of noticing the character's emotions the dialogue and the gameplay design (map, enemy placement...) isn't noticeable except in the hardest of difficulties. I got it because I wanted to play a turned-based RPG in the DS and had already played FF Tactics A2 and Luminous ARC. I played in normal mode and pretty much blazed trough it without much thought or engagement. I only really got into the series with the second game I play (BS). Your thoughts?
