Dragoncat
Play it here Fun but morbid flash game where you make a disease and try to wipe out the world. I played it in school and once I had an unstoppable virus that was killing everybody and then the computer froze - _- Just played again for the first time in nearly a decade. And I had a bacteria named Stupid. And the vaccine was made and worked. Welp. I aimed for "you can't fix stupid" but I guess you CAN fix stupid. I remember a guy in school called his disease Mormons lol. "Mormons are infecting the United States". Funny thing was that the guy's a Mormon himself. Hawkwing
I've played it several times. And every, single, time, it's stinking Madagascar that prevents me from winning the game. Everyone in the world is infected, and after a certain point, dead, except Madagascar, meaning I've never officially won a game in my life, despite everything else going along swimmingly. It's honestly almost entirely luck based if Madagascar gets infected or not. I think overall that Plague Inc. is the better game. The differences between the diseases are a lot more noticeable, and the effects of evolution seem to actually do something (and the symptoms are actually pretty accurate, to boot). You have more reliable ways of spreading the disease, and if you don't won't to deal with the trouble of infecting Greenland, you can just start there. Virus was my personal favorite in Plague Inc. and it's the only disease I managed to beat on Brutal difficulty. Sure, it's extremely random, and one moment of bad luck can bring a whole game crashing down, but it's fun having to constantly improvise and plan around and with the RNG. It's also one of the rare chances where you can see almost every symptom in action, and it is glorious in the most sickening and morbid way possible. I don't think I've ever gotten too creative with the disease names. Although when a friend of mine needed help to beat the game with the virus disease, try as I might, I couldn't resist naming the disease "[Friends Name] Sucks!" I even apologized to him about it, and he didn't care because he just wanted me to beat the level for him.

Getting the paid version nets you all the diseases from the start, allows you to speed up the game, adds Mega-Brutal difficulty, and it provides more scenarios than in the base game. There are also some DLC diseases, but those earn their price tag. The free version provides more than enough content, though. You have to unlock every disease by beating the game with a previous one (and trust me, the fungus disease will make buying the game outright very tempting) but I never found it too much of a hassle to do so. It helps that each disease plays differently from each other, and learning and mastering the quirks of each can be fun. Interestingly enough, the game was actually caught the attention of the CDC, believe it or not. Edited August 19, 2018 by Hawkwing
