  1. I tried out the true arena yesterday.

The amount of healing items is unchanged compared to the Wii version...but there are seven more bosses in the Deluxe version and an improved final boss.

I didn't do my best, but even with improvement performances this wouldn't be enough for me at all considering there's at least one boss which causes me big trouble (Rampage Doomers).

I started with spark, switched to tornado and ended up with hammer.

Of these three tornado might be only ability I have a chance to beat the true arena.

Without question this is the hardest bossrush in the Kirby series for me due to huge amount of encounter.

  2. Kirby's Return To Dream Land Deluxe, a remake of the Wii title Kirby's Return To Dream Land / Adventure Wii, contains a new mode called Magolor Epilogue.

    Spoiler

As the title says you play as Magolor who lost almost all his powers after defeating by Kirby in the main game. Only a few attacks (from his moveset from Kirby Star Allies) remain and he must improve his current attacks and learn new attacks by gaining orbs. These can be obtained by collecting them and defeating the enemies. However he can get extra orbs by constantly attacks enemies in a certain timer, called bonus orbs. It's not only an action-platformer but also in some kind of way a rhythm game. Attacking enemies must be timed precisely to gain as many orbs as possible and to reach a high rank after a stage. With the earned orbs you can use them to learn new / improved learned skills in their level, so it has a RPG system. Some skills or a certain level of a skill are required to unlock bonus stages. The stages theirselves remind a bit on the challenge stages from the main game except you must to defeat enemies. Some of them are reused from the main game in which you've to move in the opposite direction. Also the music includes remixes from the main game for the most including one reused tune from Forgotten Land.

The bosses are reused bosses from the main game but a different moveset for having all added elemental abilities like fire, electric and water. They are harder, even harder than the ex version from the extra mode and true arena.

    final boss

    Spoiler

The final boss is the Crown itself which possessed Magolor, and this fight was rough, really ROUGH. It even hard an attack which dealt tons of damage can killed me with half health. Also the fight before is really rough. The theme to the final boss is marvelous, including a remix of the town theme from Super Kirby Clash.

After all I had a very pleasent time with this mode, but honestly I don't think the whole game is worth full price to anyone who played the Wii title.

For newcomers to this game it's absolutely recommendable because the main game is easily one of the best Kirby games, definitely the best existing four players Kirby title.

  3. Question about Sigurd's paralogue:

Did I miss anything by not taking out the two high leveled sages other than battle experience?

I tried to beat the below one, but then Sigurd moved (because first castle boss) was defeated and I needed everyone to take him out.

Ivy was the only one who had a chance to beat him in two hits, but the sage had a decent critchance against her.

In general this chapter was kinda weird because after seizing the first castle, a bunch of enemies appeared but they had no point because Sigurd started to move on its own, so they couldn't be attacked.

  4. Continued Engage, and oof, I lost Louis and Clohé in chapter ten, former by that flowery miniboss and latter by the main boss who could somehow attack me from +10 range or how big it was.

There are so many things I really haven't figured out of this game yet.

Also I've not been the biggest fan of these rings yet, hardly used them.

Though the flexible skill system is nice.

  5. I played soooooooo many Touhou games the past months:

    • each mainline game from 6 to 18
    • Gensou Skydrift
    • Luna Nights
    • Spell Bubble
    • Gensou Wanderers

However currently I'm playing Fire Emblem Engage and Shin Megami Tensei V...and any Touhou game whenever I need to chill with epic music in the background.

I preordered the remake of Kirby's Return To Dream Land which I will play instantly.

I hope I will have beaten Engage until that...

  6. good

just had winter semester exams.........though that doesn't mean freetime rn because of work

at least I can use the weekends to do stuff

As you might notice from my pfp I'm playing a Fire Emblem game again.......after almost two years

  7. Aw, a half year later, and no still posted in meanwhile. 😭

And I've played and beat so many Touhou games during this time...

I guess the Touhou hype got lost back in 2016 or 2017...

Edit: It's been almost two years when someone else than me posted in here.

    hiiiiiiiiiii Soul

    you remember me?

Glad to see some OGs are still here!

Though I have to say the new forum style with all these unnecessary as annoying archievements makes me want to disappear for even longer again.

The new forum style is absolutely horrendous.

At least the return of rectangular pfps is nice.

  9. I haven't played much of Engage yet (chapter six), so I might not be correct in all, but so far as for my observations, the weapon triangle only works in player phase.

The triangle is still the same, but it has a different function. Attacking the opponent with the weapon disadvantage doesn't allow them the counterattack.

In previous games (until Fates) having advantage gives a 10/20 % accuracy boost and a very slight damage reduction.

In Three Houses weapon triangle only started to exist im midgame by learning breaker skills.

The thing is that the weapon triangle didn't do much for certain weapons / classes Imo. Even despite having weapon advantage boost lances still had a hard time to face swords in Three Houses, so attacking with range weapons was definitely the safer choice.

Not having the issue in Engage anymore definitely makes some things easier, but it also doesn't disqualify classes with a high evasion because of the removed evasion boosts for having weapon advantage in this game.

The counterside I would see is that tanking is no much of a deal anymore because of the removed evasion, so the game tends to be a player phase orientated game.

Still since I'm not very far in this game yet, it might be too early to judge.

However my first impression of the new weapon triangle is that it's quite interesting and opens up a new form of playstyle => being more offensive

    Anyways what are your thoughts?

  10. I beat this game yesterday.

It took me 85 h (the second longest game to beat after Persona 5), and seriously I enjoyed every single minute!

The characterization was detailed as authentic, the gameplay was simple and fun and the music was fantastic (as usual for Xenoblade).

Unlike other games I always was motivated to do sidequests to get to know more about the main and side characters.

The result was that I was totally overleveled at the end, but still skipped the one or other hero.

This means how much longer this game could be.

After all it was a superpleasant experience and besides Forgotten Land my Nintendo highlight of 2022 for me.

  11. I've beaten Xenoblade Chronicles 3!

    Man, this was a journey!

It took me 85 h, but I enjoyed every single minute.

And of course the end made my eyes wet (again).

This was truly a masterpiece, and I'm glad that I decided to get this game early because it was absolutely worth it!

Also good timing to end this now since Trails To Zero will arrive next week which I'll play next.

There's the extened mod which adds characters up to T18. I am using that one.

Without a mod, Shard of Dreams expansion adds up  to T15 iirc

I can send you the links if you want, although installation was a pain XD

Oh, I would appreciate it, thanks!

I remember a friend and former user of this forum guided me through the installation, but Idr how it went because it was back in 2016
