  1. I'm pretty sure that it's Aqua's necklace. If you look in the announcement trailer, you'll notice that it's glowing when the dragon... thing is strangling her. (Looks like Kamui's dragon form, but that's a discussion for another thread). If you look at that glow, it's pretty similar to the glow of the fire emblem from Tellius, imho.
  2. Thanks a ton! It's nearly impossible to understand a thing in these trailers without you!
  3. The image also shows that Camilla and Leon (I did remember the Nohr younger brother's name correctly, right?) seem to have unique weapons. Camilla's axe has some sort of detailing that (as far as I know) isn't found on any weapon in the series, and I don't recognise Leon's tome. But that could just be me - I haven't been interested in the series for THAT long. EDIT: wow... quote fail. Shows how much time I spend on forums... I was intending to quote the post from Azure_Skylar (the one above).
  4. I tend to avoid major spoilers myself. What I'm doing with a few of the big games coming out that I want to get is that I'm only following news from either gaming mags/news websites or official information, which tends to be very spoiler light. As far as I know, it's the only spoiler-pretty-much-free way to ride the hype train, and it has worked out pretty well so far for me. As long as I don't look at anything in google before pressing the 'news' button, I think I'm ok. Take Xenoblade X, for example. Search it on google every day, still haven't got a clue about the story past (presumably) the first few cutscenes (which Nintendo has released anyway)
  5. If you ignore the names of the classes, the two seem ok. They both use hidden weapons (which sound like they'll be either really useful with the debuffs or completely worthless) and the maids use staves, while the butlers use... something. Probably swords, since I can't imagine a Butler with an axe and you would see the lance or bow if Joker (cravat-san) used one.
  6. I thought of a possible use for Phoenix mode that is vaguely justified. PLEASE don't get me wrong - as far as full playthroughs are concerned, I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. So, let's say you were playing through the Nohr campaign, and towards the end of the game, you had a unit you hadn't used for whatever reason, and you wanted to try that unit (lets call him John for the sake of argument). You copy the save file, and change the copy to phoenix mode. You then try out the unit really easily, as you can grind him up to a decent level in one fight as HE CAN'T DIE!!! In the Nohr campaign testing characters would be nearly impossible as there is limited experience. Phoenix mode is likely not intended for full playthroughs, but to allow people to easily test things in the Nohr campaign. This WOULD make sense, as casual mode doesn't allow you to do this in only one fight, as the character will likely drop dead after a single hit, whereas phoenix mode prevents you ruining the story in a test fight. Now I don't doubt that this is going to get shot to bits, but I thought I'd have my say, as no-one else seems to have thought of this. Also, I don't want to start talking to much about the weapon durability - could be good or bad depending on how they handled it. Phoenix mode is the same as casual for me - cool for newcomers, and the vets can just leave it alone.
  7. I thought of an interesting system. What if, they gave you an essentially unlimited number of master seals (maybe free?), but limited the number of promoted units you could have based on plot progress. You could start out with only being allowed one or two for those early-game promoted units (I'm looking at YOU Fredrick) and at about the point where you should start getting promoted units, you start gaining the ability to have them in you army in greater numbers. The system would mean that all the stuff like grinding and infinite seals/promotions wouldn't be too bad, as you would still get limited in your power. It would effectively "force" balance on the game, and would discourage grinding - it would only be good for trying out other units you haven't used yet. And it may also give a sense of the main lord growing as a commander, which would be nice for story. Promotions by level up would have to be disabled for it to work, but the abundance of promotion items should balance it. Oh, and I am NOT in favour of class specific promotion items. Unnecessary hassle in my opinion. The only exception I would give is for special classes, e.g. Lord, because story based promotions could force you to miss a level up or two 'cause your lord happens to be slightly under-levelled for whatever reason.
