  1. Yeah I got what you were saying. I was posting my own suspicions that Brady works best as a sage, as opposed to a dark Knight or something. Thanks.
  2. I was thinking of neutral supports that gave speed, didn't really think of a magic support that gives no speed. So is he best as a sage?
  3. So I'm down to the last 3 units, which are Inigo, Noire, and Nah. The fathers left are Ricken/Libra (owain gets one of them, almost assuredly Ricken), Fred, Kellam, Vaike, Donny. The only unpaired kid now is Brady, so he'll take noire or nah. My question is the best alignment here. I would assume that Brady would like whomever vaike fathers, simply because that will be the best unit capable of fighting on their own. My question is, which of the two girls is an overall better unit for Brady? I'm fine benching the remaining two if it means a better Brady partner. I know that both lose quite a bit when vaike isn't fathering them, but just wondering what you guys think.
  4. But that's not true at all. I won't disagree that Sumia is better, but for speed, not for being physical. Just because she starts in a sword class and has the aesthetic of being a physical fighter, the fact is, even Sumia gives her +1 mag mod and 0 str mod, and gives her tome faire along with pretty much the best two classes to use it.
  5. Sorcerer, manakete, and almost always general are pretty bad classes for apo. Stahl!severa needs to be running a physical set or don't bother. Hero, specifically. She then needs Henry!gerome as a berserker in support. Nah should be a hero from those choices, and can support either magical or physical.
  6. I will tell you kellam!nah is absolutely awful. No new faire, she gets luna, but will never lead thanks to the atrocious speed so it doesn't matter. You need to use ricken, because of his classes. If you do ricken!Owain, and move vaike to nowi, you'll have a really good setup. I prefer stahl on Panne and virion on cordelia, but that's preferential above all. Henry gerome and virion yarne are two top tier guys, and the other pairs look good as well.
  7. Acually, other than Cherche gregor, which isn't the worst even, those pairs are very good. Also, for whoever asked, kellam can indeed make one somewhat good child: Noire. He gives tome faire and sage for magic support, and doesn't hurt her magic, while giving her a point of strength for her to support physically too. It's not the best kid, not even the best noire, but it can function.
  8. Ricken!Owain @ Sage is supporting Sumia! Lucina! Morgan @ Valkyrie. What is a skillset for him? I mean, lb, agg, and tome faire are obvious. But past that? I mean, he is rolling with a 239 hit rate from the back. That's not perfect. But that's not perfect on like one or two enemies. Can he run luna plus galeforce? Or better yet, can he be fathered by libra and run vengeance? He'll get good support boosts from Morgan either way. Also, that brings up another question. What is a typical dark Knight skillset? Say lon'qu Brady is running dk. What would his major role be and what set would he run?
  9. Czar, When you say "Using Brady has the advantage of being able to put Fred on inigo" what did you mean by that? I understand that noire won't take him, but is there a dynamic with Brady or just you meant to type ricken? Also, ricken works well for owain, so would replacing him with libra on either noire or owain be a big loss? It seems like a bigger loss to owain what with the great skills picked up when all you're basically after on noire is tome faire. I have been searching for something to do with noire and I like the vaike idea, but that screws up nowi. Is there anyone that fills in here well? I know about Henry, but of course gerome sorely misses him.
  10. Not that my opinion bears much weight, but I second Virion big time. He gives her the speed and skill she wants, wyvern just like lon'qu, tome faire should you want it, and the sniper line. It really opens up a lot of avenues for her, and let's lon'qu send his speed and Astra to someone who really needs it, like Brady.
  11. Ok that is a perfect answer, exactly what I needed, thanks.
  12. In a challenge run, are berserkers still typically used for support? Say you were doing a no lb run. Is berserker (assuming hexathema or hit+20) still the support of choice or is the lack of skill too much without lb help? Also, just as a theoretical, are classes like wyvern Lord and other low base speed classes used?
  13. I'm actually curious about this too I calculated the hit rate of vaike!gerome to be about 221, which is a good starting point to hit the goons. That was with 3/25 forge. So 10 more would get him a pretty respectable 231, which is only short of perfect on like 5 enemies or something. These are napkin calcs, but still. I assume the point at which you begin running into problems is on challenge runs.
  14. I guess you could marry Lissa to a +Mag/-Def(or whatever) MaMU and use a Levin Sword. You get a lot of speed and a pretty respectable 41 Mag, swordfaire makes that hit actually pretty hard. It also gives you a pretty robust +7 Mag and +3 speed for Morgan for a nice Grandmaster, while also boosting her luck to where, at max, she can abuse AT with any pairup so you can use the legendary weapons (Same for Ragnell should Owain just want to carry that for the heck of it). The fact that you encounter Lissa immediately and Owain's chapter is pretty easy means you could very easily make him a part of the team as soon as he becomes available.
  15. Right, and that is what I did on my current actual run. But I was musing, as I have another save file on which to toy with pairings, such as Gaius!Noire just to try it out, and the critical stacking Nah seemed too fun to pass up, and considering how well it meshed with Brady I went for it. Not a huge deal, but the magic boost is really nice. Plus, gerome will end up with, I believe, a 221 hit rate, which should suffice considering he'll probably be with Kjelle. And those calcs do line up with what I had done, so that's good to know. Another question, I know it's not exactly the best idea to do this, but can a lead with hit plus 20 boost the hut rate of the rear unit?
