  1. Elaine was slowly piecing together how all this clone nonsense worked - it was strange considering that she hadn't even known that it were possible but a few weeks ago. Whatever Kim's mind was doing, it was something that was new for even her. Megumi seemed to be a good doctor in multiple fields, but could she actually figure out something that has never happened before? "I guess her brain isn't as similar without all those memories in there, I dunno... maybe she's not a complete clone?" Elaine suggested, shrugging her shoulders at her own conjectures. It was rather touching, if not unusual, scene with the three Chris' reuniting. Elaine didn't understand how it all worked, but she could tell when people cared about each other. "Good to see you awake, Christina. Ain't gonna lie, was kinda scary but I'm glad you pulled through." Elaine added, giving the girls some space. "I might not be telekinetic but you and Kim got my support in all this stuff. Just hope the doc can figure it out."
  2. Elaine nodded, the reassurance from Brant was enough to keep her together for the time being. Whatever fate she had in store for her was uncertain, but she would have to make the best of what she got. Walking along with Brant and Kim put her on edge somewhat - the idea of someone being able to read her mind, especially in a situation like this was. She could only hope that Kim had some sort of control over it and didn't particularly feel like exploring her mind. Standing in the lift, Elaine listened to the conversation about Kim's new abilities. Would they stick? Were they something that she'd gained from the Sacarians? It was a lot for Elaine to take in, especially after the trauma that Louise had delivered. Seeing Christina in the medbay was sobering for Elaine, her anger at Avery's betrayal pushing her fear of Louise out of her head for the moment. It was good that Christina had been treated, but it didn't do anything to redeem Avery's actions. All this clone and mind-reading talk was giving Elaine a headache, she wasn't used to thinking so hard. Scratching her head vigorously, she finally broke her silence. "All this psychic shit is way too complicated for me." Elaine complained, shaking her head. As confusing as it was, she was relieved that Kim didn't have access to her own mind. "If it works with Chris because she's similar to Christina... does that mean it works with the other one... uh Nina... too?"
  3. Jess' own goals seemed reasonable enough, even if Tarquin didn't quite understand the nuances of pay and pensions. Whatever she wanted to do, he was certain she'd get there eventually - even if she didn't know what it was exactly. Tarquin had time to figure things out for himself too, school was just the first on the list in his planned future. He was only fourteen after all, he probably had a good number of years to sort the rest out. "That makes sense, I like to think that it's possible to choose something that you're happy with. Even if the choice is difficult." Tarquin replied, choosing to wait and observe the situation at his own leisure. The fuss in the middle of the hangar had already gathered quite the crowd. However, Makoto was certainly a welcome distraction. The connection between the two was rather unexpected, Jess must have had some interaction with Makoto's mother. Tarquin hadn't really met Makoto's mother, he'd been far too preoccupied with Nikolai in the medbay. "Makoto? Oh, you know Jess?" He'd barely noticed Makoto during the battle, Tarquin's own attention had been on the enemy and keeping the Aria safe. Makoto may have claimed that he was only just surviving, but Tarquin had seen his development during their missions. He wasn't entirely sure how much Makoto had been practising without him, or with who, but the rate he had improved at was astonishing.
  4. Elaine slowly rose to her feet, guided up by Brant's reassurance. It shocked her to think that he was still trying to help her, maybe there was still was some hope for her. Elaine wiped her eyes, giving herself a couple of seconds to gather herself. There was every possibility that Louise would let their talks slip and there was no way that Elaine herself would have the nerve to be able to lie about it. Louise She shook her head, looking back at Brant once more. "It's still pretty shit, Brant... but I'll have to get through it." she replied, ready to make her way to the elevators with the others. She was both physically and mentally drained from recent events, stopping by the medbay wasn't a bad idea. "Thanks for keepin' an eye out for me, I appreciate it." It was probably worth visiting Cheryl at some point, there was a lot she needed to get out of her head - it was going to eat away at her otherwise. She wasn't sure whether she was afraid, guilty or even angry, there was no way she could process these emotions by herself. Elaine looked back at the hangar, she could see the plant child looking down at her from his unit. He wouldn't understand, he was a little machine designed for war, he probably didn't have any feelings - just like the toasters and that Christina clone. She looked down bitterly, even a child looking at her could make her feel insignificant. The thought made her almost sick, despite her age she wasn't any better at holding things together than a teenage girl.
  5. They had both survived, Tarquin was almost numb to the risks that he placed on his own life. All had been fine when he was piloting alone, but the presence of another individual had sparked an almost uncharacteristic consideration. Perhaps this was what existing alongside other people did? It wasn't a bad thing though, as long as people didn't leave him. Bruno, Mateus and even the Professor, they'd all vanished from his life for one reason or another. People would come and go in his life, but he could keep those who he cared about in his life... he just needed to try. Tarquin remained silent for a few moments, taking some time to consider what Jess had said. She'd thought rather far into the future, Tarquin's own plans barely covered the next few years of his life. It was nice though, Tarquin smiled gently, satisfied with his ally's determination to move forwards. "Our success was a combined effort, another step closer to a better future. I don't know what an E-7 is, but if you want it then I hope you get it. I don't even know what job I would want to do." Tarquin replied, admittedly not too reluctant to accept Jess' praise. He stretched back in his seat putting his hands behind his head as the Aria's systems guided them into the Heion Riese. "I think I'll find something though, even if it isn't what I expect it to be. The same might happen to you, plans can always change." That much was very true. A matter of weeks ago, Tarquin had fully accepted being a puppet for the ANF, complete devoid of attachment or independence. It would have been laughable to think how much things would change for him. Even if it had hurt sometimes, life had certainly become more interesting albeit more uncertain. The Aria entered the hangar, landing alongside its robotic allies. It was perhaps more worse for wear than most of their allies, Buck and the crew would have a lot of work on their hands. Stepping out onto the elevator platform, Tarquin gestured for Jess to follow. Something wasn't quite right on the hangar floor, a commotion was definitely going on. An enemy unit was docked in the hangar, not uncommon for the Heion Riese but it still raised questions. "This doesn't appear to be the Captain and her usual recruitment tactic, something doesn't feel quite right. We should find out what is happening." Tarquin remarked, glancing back at Jess. He couldn't quite make out the scene, but there was an unfamiliar figure at the centre of it all - most likely their guest. "The Captain doesn't exactly follow protocol, but her approach is bizarrely effective. It's difficult to explain but we've acquired multiple allies from the ranks of the enemy." - Elaine continued to hyperventilate, everything was going so very wrong for her and it sickened her to the core. She turned to Brant, her eyes wide with fear. He was the only one that knew, the only person that didn't look at her like a nut-job with hair-trigger temper. But what could he do to help? He was only one man, and Louise was so smooth with her words... it was why she'd fallen prey to her in the first place. "Brant... I'm scared..." Elaine muttered, still shaking in terror. Louise was scarier now than anything she'd ever faced before. Going to prison, surviving in it, getting the random calls from Louise and killing her... seeing her again like this was far too much to bear. "It's my fault... why did I let this happen."
  6. "Shit... fuck... no..." Elaine muttered, unable to get herself up from the floor. The pressure bearing down on her was too much, fear had practically pinned her down. Nobody could protect her from Louise, and Kim would easily pick up on her distress. It was only a matter of time before people found out, then it would be a life in prison for Elaine. Communicating in secret with the enemy was a serious crime, there was no excusing it. Even if she hadn't give away any vital information, it was an act that couldn't be compatible with heroism. After all she'd done to fight Apotheosis, her actions would brand her a traitor. "Makoto..." Elaine muttered, tears welling in her eyes. The boy looked up to her, admired her like nobody else did. It hurt to think she'd let down one of the few people that didn't think she was a volatile headcase.
  7. I still have this from the last time the idea came up. Still worth the hour it took to make
  8. The hangar had become a blur around Elaine, all she could focus on was the mechanical marionette that called herself Louise. Had Apotheosis really rebuilt the psychopath as a killer android? It was her worst nightmare come true, there wasn't even a way to get rid of her. Would Louise out all her secrets and the fact they'd been talking secretly? It would be enough to land Elaine back in prison, and for far longer than last time. Nobody would ever be able to trust her again, all of her efforts destroyed by her own fear. Elaine gritted her teeth, nothing she could think of would be able to salvage the situation. Elaine's body went limp as Louise embraced her, the intimate act striking terror throughout her entire person. She wanted to run away, push Louise off of her, scream... but her body refused to move, the sheer shock of the matter rendering her incapable of even replying. Dropping to her knees, Elaine broke out into a cold sweat. Jess already suspected something, all Elaine could do was look at up her captain fearfully. There was no chance she'd get through this without any retribution, her own cowardice and poor judgement had come back to bite her.
  9. Elaine let out a frustrated grunt, their battle had come to an end but there was no time to rest. She still needed to process Avery's betrayal, slamming her fist on her controls once again in frustration. Someone she'd trusted dearly and thought she could depend on... it just hurt to think she'd been lied to all this time. Landing the Oberon in the hangar was just another reminder, she had half expected to see Avery running over to inspect the damage. It was just another cruel reminder for her of what had happened. "Been a real shit day it has. Hopefully that bitch Avery didn't do nothing to Astin when she took their machine..." Elaine muttered, leaving the Oberon and taking the lift down to the hangar floor. She hadn't heard anything from Astin, it was starting to worry her. A crowd had gathered near one of the enemy units. Elaine hadn't noticed it slipping into the Heion Riese, had they taken another prisoner? It was only a matter of steps until Elaine recognised their guest, both their face and voice were enough to strike fear into her. "Fuck! No! You can't be here! You are not here!" Elaine screamed, pointing a shaking finger at Louise. It was impossible, she'd defeated the Regina herself, saw the blood leak from the cockpit, it just couldn't be. Louise had come back to haunt Elaine, all those secret conversations, the desperate desire to matter to someone, it was torture for her fragile mind. Elaine's hand instinctively lowered slowly to her pistol, only to recoil at the last second. The entire hangar started to spin around her, her own heart was ready to beat out of her chest. "I killed you... you can't be here."
  10. The battle had ended, Tarquin had been left with an unsettling lack of closure. It didn't feel like the last of their conflicts by any means, there were likely more to come before the war could end. Despite the alien technology and numbers advantage, the Heion Riese had pulled through and succeeded. Tarquin himself hadn't been particularly high profile in the mission, but he was satisfied with his contributions nonetheless. The only criticism the young boy had for himself was how much damage that the Aria had sustained - especially since he now had a co-pilot. "My apologies for my recklessness, Jess. We have sustained more damage than I had intended." Tarquin admitted, feeling that his co-pilot deserved at least some sort of explanation. If they were to continue working together he'd need to keep including her in his decision making. It wasn't only his own decisions that he pondered. Looking out across the sea, he could see the remnants of the Sacarian machines. Was their cause really worth the deaths of so many? Even from an objective perspective, they would have to be desperate to throw away their resources so readily. "We judge each other with fire... to die for their cause, either they cannot see their future or they refuse to believe it." His ponderings aside, it was time for them to return to the Heion Riese. Not only did the Aria require repairs but Tarquin needed some time to think things over for himself. Guiding the Aria towards the hangar, he took one last glance at the ocean. Maybe one day he'd live by the coast, with Nikolai once he had recovered.
  11. The Praxis had made a good attempt to carve into the Aria, having approached at a frightening pace. There had been no time to raise his shield, Tarquin felt the full force of the plasma cutter as it tore at them. Warnings and alerts littered his control panels, they'd taken more damage than he'd have liked but they were still functional for now. It was a split second reaction, Tarquin knew too well that his foe was too close for his rifle. A pair of thin lasers shot out from the Aria's eyes, someone at Corona Ten must have had a wonderful sense of humour when designing the weapon. It wasn't going to take down the Praxis by any means, but it was enough to create a bit of breathing space. "Jess, we've lost thruster calibration, I am passing full control to you so I can focus on targeting systems. Most of our main systems are still functional, but we should avoid further damage." Tarquin remarked, looking back quickly to ensure his co-pilot was OK. The impact hadn't been pleasant by any means, although he'd managed to keep his cool better than previously. "I shall assist with your attack." Tarquin replied, switching target quickly to assist Alriana and peppering their foe with a missile barrage. Their ammunition reserves were good, and Alriana had created a fantastic opening - another wave would be more than enough to finish. Tarquin uses his Seeker Missiles on Cat #9 then Hit and Away to 10,9 (thanks Jess)
  12. "Time to put the cat out! Makoto! We're goin' for round two with another one of these flea bags!" Elaine boasted, pointing directly ahead... at her own monitor. Her sights were set on the tagged Praxis, a good shot from both of them would blow it into pieces. "Just gotta hold on until the others take out the big one, can't believe how many punks we've beaten. Makoto, just because we ain't fightin' the boss don't mean we're not important, both of us gotta remember that!" Elaine smirked, she could still be a hero despite all of her mistakes. A fiery passion had built up inside her, no longer was she afraid of being shunned or tormented... it was time for her to make a difference not just for the ANF, but for humanity as a whole. Elaine casts Strike and attacks Sacarian 4 with her Dual Beam Rifle, featuring Makoto and his Hybrid Chamber Rifle! - "Evasion was an unfeasible option, but thank you." Tarquin replied, looking over his shoulder at Jess. Something had seemed slightly off, even for a brief moment. What was near as puzzling about her expression was that he actually picked up on it. There had to be more than battle making her feel uneasy, she'd been relatively OK up until the last attacks. Did it trigger a bad memory for her? He was only guessing at this point, but he needed to reassure Jess that she would remain unharmed if he could help it. "We'll all be safe, I promise." Tarquin affirmed, his first shot connecting with the Praxis. It was a sturdy craft, but the damage was racking up on it. "Just a few more shots. The information you relayed to Almydis has put us at a tactical advantage." What would come next was uncertain, there were surely more foes to face, greater threats to deal with... but there was a sense that they were close to a monumental victory. "When the war's over, I'm going to attend school like a normal boy." Tarquin commented, primed to take a second shot at the Praxis. "I might be designed to be physically more able and academically more gifted, but I want to experience growing up like everybody else. Jess, what about you? We will survive this, your life will go beyond this war." Tarquin attacks Gaal'Bathy with his Full Output Railgun!
  13. Tarquin commanded the Aria to one side, narrowly avoiding the first incoming beam. Whilst an upgrade from his Velite, the Aria wasn't designed with fast paced close combat in mind. He couldn't even risk using his rifle's full capacity at this distance. His response was quick, barely taking any time to return fire with his rifle. Raising his shield at the last moment, Tarquin felt the impact of the second - an attack lessened by his response. "Jess, please keep an eye on our generator reserves. Our rifle isn't designed for sustained high output." Tarquin warned, taking a moment to realise his choice of words. It wasn't just his Aria anymore, it was theirs. He'd assumed the Aria had been designed for a single user, why had it been set up so well for two? The data they'd received from Ensign Calvin would prove useful, the Sacarian forces were not stationary targets by any means. "Thank you, Ensign, we shall endeavour to prevent enemies from approaching." Tarquin casts Sense!
  14. Elaine slammed her fist down on one of her control panels, the glass screen cracking slightly upon impact. They'd come so close to stopping Avery, but she'd vanished before they could land a finishing blow. It was a kick in teeth, like a cheap boss in a videogame that disappeared during a cutscene. It had bee a fantastic effort though, the group had taken down two major threats in quick succession - the Sacarian forces were no match for them. "Shit, slipped away like a fuckin' eel. I'm sure this ain't the last we'll see of her." Elaine complained, moving her hand away from the cracked screen sheepishly. Kim wasn't pleased either, no doubt that her motives for revenge went beyond Elaine's own anger at Avery's lies. "Can't see nothing from here, looks like she's done a runner, Kim. We'll get another shot at her, already lookin' forward to taking her down. Let's get through the rest of these punks."
  15. The response that Tarquin got from Jess was reassuring, there was something resembling coordination between the two of them. It was still an alien concept for him to have someone in the cockpit with him, he was still finding himself looking back to prove that Jess was actually there. She had accepted her role to play aboard the Aria, and now it was time for Tarquin to perform his own. "That is a suitable suggestion, Jess." Tarquin replied, locking directly onto the Ceres. "One that I would be happy to partake in." Tarquin attacks Marianne with his Full Output Railgun! - "Taking a shot at Avery ain't a bad idea, even if it's comin' from the pipsweak. Makoto, come and lend a hand, we're gonna give that traitor a healthy dose." Elaine chuckled, urging the Oberon forwards. "Nobody gets to hurt people I care about without hearing from me!" Elaine casts Strike, moves to 10,16 and attacks Marianne with her Dual Beam Rifle with support from Makoto's Hybrid Chamber Rifle!
  16. Seeing the Luna go down surprised Tarquin, he had fully expected Vera to be one of the final hurdles they faced. Perhaps it was a sign that they were closer to the climax of the Sacarian forces, or the alien race had simply decided Vera was now expendable. Nobody had made much effort to explain their new allies on the battlefield, but any forces against the Sacarians would likely be appreciated. "Kommen süßer Tod, Vera? Ich glaube nicht, dass Sie nicht die Art sind zu sterben." Tarquin pondered, slipping back into his language of choice. It was a habit that he'd gotten into recently, there was something comforting in knowing his words would only be understood by Nikolai. "Jess, we should focus on the Ceres. We possess a significant advantage in terms of range. It's a shame, its current pilot was someone I could have almost considered a friend." Tarquin continued, his expression remaining neutral during his speech. It would be easily to cast doubts on whether his rifle had actually been miscalibrated unintentionally or Avery's agenda when repairing Hannah, but there was no way to analyse the past or change what had happened. "To lose someone is tragic enough, but for a friend to become an enemy... it remains difficult no matter how many times it occurs. Jess, there may be data that you can relay to our allies, I shall trust your judgement in what you " Having his own creator ally himself with Apotheosis was still at the back of his mind, the one adult he thought he was able to trust. The lesson he'd learned was that trust was both variable and transient - nobody could be trusted with everything all of the time. Adults were selfish, they would always act in a way that would benefit themselves best. Rather than broadcasting his dissatisfaction to every channel in the area, Tarquin decided to send his own private message to Avery. "You have your own orders and objectives, I cannot fault you for adhering to them for whatever reasons that you have. Perhaps under different circumstances this would be a less hostile confrontation. " Tarquin remarked, tapping away at his console with one hand. The Aria's targeting systems began to whirr, Tarquin making several decisive inputs. "However, I have my own goals and I do not intend to show leniency." Tarquin casts both Sense and Incite!
  17. "Holy shit! Did Vera just go down? Apotheosis ain't got nothing on Kim!" Elaine exclaimed, shocked as she watched the Luna plunge into the water below. It had all started with taking a potshot as Vera was leaving the colony, she'd seemed almost invincible back then. Admittedly, she still seemed pretty invincible but they'd somehow managed to pull it off. If they could defeat Vera, then it meant their fight against the other Apotheosis aces was far less daunting. They'd already taken down Louise, Carlos and Vera... could they win this war? "Kim? You OK swimming down there? Don't let her get the jump on you." Elaine warned, slightly too paranoid to consider Vera completely defeated. Elaine knew, or thought she knew, what these terrorist types were like. It didn't matter how proud or honourable they were, they were a bunch a radical extremists. "She might pull a fast one, like explode and take you with her. Hang in there, Kim. We got ya back." Even if Vera had been dealt with, there was still Avery and her furry friends to complicate matters. Elaine clenched her fist, the idea that Avery was a traitor the whole time and took advantage of their trust made her blood boil. She'd been against them the whole time and they'd been none the wiser. Maybe if she'd paid more attention or spotted the hints... it'd be a different story. "You cow-herding lyin' piece of shit, I ain't gonna forgive at all for all this." Elaine roared, unintentionally broadcasting publicly. "Gonna shoot you right out of the sky!"
  18. Jess was understandly still rather uneasy, the Aria wasn't exactly a standard unit by any means - it had been specifically designed for a genetically engineered line of pilots. However, Tarquin had a feeling that the unit itself wasn't the problem, he had given her a brief overview of the Aria and its subsystems but where she could actively engage wasn't as clear. It was difficult for him too, how one would be able to allow someone else into their logical processing felt almost beyond the young boy. He had been doing so much for himself for so long... did he know any different? "Most pilots are only poorly capable of maintaining a conception of an entire battlefield... or a room, for that matter!" Bruno had returned from the past to guide him forwards again. There was an element of regret to his realisation, it was somewhat tragic how he could only learn from his lessons long after he'd left. An extra pair of eyes and hands... and a brain would take pressure off him. There was only so long he could remain hyper-vigilant, Jess could allow him to maintain a more consistent performance. "Jess, I am transferring generator regulation and thruster calibration to your terminal." Tarquin replied, inputting the commands into a nearby display. If they were going to work as a team, he would need to show that he trusted her. "The Aria is not designed for mobile combat, but I feel we can go beyond its specifications with some coordination."
  19. "Gonna keep some of the goons away from the action. Leave it to me, Thorvald, I'm gonna show them somethin' fierce. Give that robot stealing hick another one for me!" Elaine replied, setting her sights on one of Praxis ahead of the Heion Riese. With everybody else caught up with the imminent threats of the enemy commanders, someone needed to clean up the grunts. It wasn't glamorous or exciting, but Elaine needed to play her part so they could all succeed. "I got the final blow on Louise... can't be tryin' to take the spotlight just to make myself feel better." she muttered, easing the Oberon to the edge of the water. Fighting at sea wasn't really her cup of tea, she'd need the Oberon's engines to warm up properly before she could take to the air. Elaine moves to 8,18 and attacks Sacarian #8 with her Dual Rifle!
  20. Proof of Might Lobos grinned, pleased with how Cass' group were engaging with his plans. "It will be a series of one on one fights. One of your own will face a member of my clan, the winner will go on to face the next foe. Then we shall continue until only one side remains." Lobos replied, casting his gaze upon Astaroth. "A bold claim, I'll be certain to make my first pick one suitable for the son of Abeloth. It shall both be a test of might and endurance, both will be required to gain the trust of the Medeina." Lobos laughed, Ulfure was not visibly troubled by his father's savage schemes. "I intend to select my finest, Ulfure... remember that, my son." he added, looking over at Ulfure. "But for now, you shall be our guests. You have a great trial ahead of you tomorrow, I look forward to seeing your efforts. My men shall escort you to a tent for you to use, you are permitted to leave. Speak now if you must, there will be little time for questions tomorrow."
  21. Having someone inside the Aria with him was somewhat unsettling for Tarquin. Previously he had managed every system himself, his entire attention dedicated to running each aspect of the Aria. Hopefully Jess would gradually familiarise herself with the unit, both for her own accomplishment and for the battle itself. He looked over at his co-pilot, almost to confirm to himself that she was actually still there. The assault against the Luna had sparked passion and fury across his allies, the betrayal of Avery only fuelling their emotions. His own specialisation was almost fitting, he wasn't at the heart of the conflict and was merely an observer at the periphery. "Solch ein heftiger Angriff für einen einzelnen Feind? Ein seltsames, aber kein fremdes Konzept." Tarquin pondered, swiftly remembering that Jess was with him. Not only would he need to start explaining his thoughts, he would need to share his plans with her too."It is best we find a suitable firing point. The Aria is not equipped for marine warfare, we shall have to rely on its range to offer support." Tarquin moves to 8,19 and holds!
  22. It seemed that Tarquin had caught Jess by surprise, her expression and both posture were that of someone not expecting to be approached. Tarquin stood a couple of feet away from Jess, uncertain whether he needed to get closer or move away from her. Something was definitely bothering her, Tarquin could feel an uncomfortable aura coming from Jess. He didn't know her terribly well, but from what he did know, she had plenty to be disheartened about. Tarquin took a few steps forward, sitting down next to Jess. "It's OK, you're allowed to feel like that. Nobody gets to decide how long feelings last, there's no rules about it." Tarquin assured, turning his head towards her. Jess was a good number of years older than him, someone that he barely even knew, but he couldn't leave her feeling so despondent. He could feel her desire to contribute, to try and assist in any way she could, but also how painful the idea of putting herself at the front-line was. "Come with me for this mission." Tarquin replied, looking back to the cafeteria door. "The Aria can accommodate a supporting pilot, that way you can contribute. If it becomes too difficult, I am fully capable of managing the entire system alone... you wouldn't be a burden."
  23. Tarquin steadied himself against the wall as the ship shook, no doubt that some sort of combat was occurring outside the Heion Riese. With Avery's betrayal, he'd have to wait until the Aria was checked before embarking for himself - even a miscalibrated rifle would prove fatal in a bad situation. Some of the others were likely already out there, he would be able to join them once preparations were ready. He continued his journey towards the elevators, pausing at the cafeteria. It was an unusual area for him to be nostalgic about, but he'd bonded with the likes of Nikolai, Nina, Cheryl and Jess there. Back at the base, it had always been a place that reminded him how isolated he was. "Jess?" Tarquin asked, spotting Jess slumped in one of the chairs. Something didn't seem quite right, but he couldn't put his finger on it. "I'm heading to the hangar to deploy... are you planning to remain here?" The cafeteria was an unusual choice to be at the beginning of a battle, although she currently was't a combatant. Admittedly, being anywhere in the Heion Riese wouldn't guarantee safety during a battle, perhaps he was overthinking things?
  24. Elaine could only stare with her mouth wide open as the Ceres and Crescent started to fight in the hangar itself. What on earth was happening, had Avery hijacked the Ceres for her own nefarious purposes. Her first instinct would have been to run to the Oberon, but Ignatius' warning about possible sabotage was enough to cool even her jets. She was still fuming, clenching her fists and gritting her teeth. Elaine had trusted Avery so much, they were both into mechanics and she felt that Avery really could have been relied on - yet another mistake in the list she'd made. "Gonna check the Oberon myself, ain't got time to wait about." Elaine fumed, storming over to her machine and slipping in alongside the engineering team to help make the checks. She furiously tapped a message into her communicator, Astin wasn't going to be happy knowing their robot had been stolen. Elaine would have been furious if the Oberon had been taken, but Astin would be less likely to freak out about it than her. "Yo, Astin. That traitorous bitch Avery jacked your bot, gonna deck her right in the face for you when I can."
