  1. It did, but it contradicts Naga's actions in Jugdral. I get what you're saying but I have to ask this. Do you happen to have a Japanese script for Awakening? Is Alm's portrayal the same there? If it is, why would they go with that? It's one of many of the questionable decisions Awakening makes but I want to know if there's a basis for it.
  2. And the Pegasus Sisters. I don't know, I'll add that to the list of things to ask him about.
  3. Though Valentia is a part of the greater Archanean lore, it's its own thing. It was here that gods, monsters, and the undead were introduced. It deserves an explanation. It's not like him to ignore important details.
  4. I'm talking more about outside of the game. I know you can only do so much on an NES, but FE1 beats it there too. Kaga does not talk about Valentia for some reason. Archanea is very fleshed out (as are his other works), it's all the more impressive when you consider its time.
  5. Both videos were pretty ridiculous. IS got it right with Echoes. What animations are you referring to? Because Radiant Dawn has incredibly stiff and awkward animations. The magic spells are pretty though.
  6. Its story is less developed than its predecessor, which was also on the NES. He doesn't go into detail about Valentia in game or out. If the lack of realization was the case, you'd think he'd be more eager to explain. I played Gaiden before Awakening and I still felt that way. Celica was as interesting as your average early 90s video game protagonist. She just wasn't a damsel.
  7. That's one of the few things Awakening did right. I wish they would have kept that for Echoes. It's a bit of a retcon, but compared to changing Valentia into a continent, making Doma/Mila dragons, making Celica "dependent", her "death", and Grima , it would have actually made Gaiden's story better. It's true that Alm really was no different from your average FE lord, but for some reason I always got more aggressive vibes from him. I'm not alone in this and I don't know why. I think even Kaga doesn't like Gaiden's plot. I mean, stuff like split paths, a navigable world map, and monster enemies came back for Tearring Saga. Other than that, he never really talks about it anywhere.
  8. I don't understand. FE didn't really amp up the "anime" until FE12. Then again, there's Hasha no Tsurugi. Now that's shonen. Coming of age stories are popular in a lot of genres. Regarding an emphasis on fighting, I don't know what you expect in a series about war. Tellius isn't different from the rest in that sense.
  9. Feel free to make your ideas known. More often than not, the fan revisions are better than the actual game. It's just that this particular question isn't debatable.
  10. Seriously? Hoshido vs Nohr could not be more one sided.
  11. Well anyone else who's confused can look at where I explained myself further. Not that I didn't make myself clear the first time. IS shouldn't have a problem with a lot of things, but it is what it is.
  12. King Seliph. The empire was disbanded. There is a unique mechanic that's specifically designed to keep them from falling in love. There's nothing to ponder, Seliph x Julia does not happen. He's more likely to marry Lana than anything.
  13. I get where you're coming from, but the similarities aren't significant enough to note. Me neither. Maybe not exactly, but I do know dragons, legacies, power struggles, betrayal and incest are pretty common in these type of things. How is Julius similar to Viserion? GOT dragons are more like FE wyverns. FE has always been kinda anime, so strange hair colors are a given. Julia does not fall in love with Seliph. There's a unique mechanic coded in that drops their love points to from 499 to 0 to prevent this. There was an initial attraction, but it does not come to fruition, thankfully. Julia's already inbred.
  14. I see a lot of these comparisons. I hate when people act like Game of Thrones is the origin for dark medieval fantasy when it's been around for centuries. As the user above me so aptly put it, these are pretty common tropes in the genre at this point. I highly doubt Kaga or Martin knew anything about each other's work. It's fine if you like both FE and GOT but I can't stop cringing whenever people do this.
  15. Yeah, I should have. I saw you say "dumb comparison", not video. I typed all that before finding out you weren't talking about the idea of comparing Sigurd to Alm in general. I understand the context and I get what you're saying now.
  16. Now that, I agree with. I fear IS touching Jugdral as well. So if all the annoying stuff were removed you'd like it? Or is there something else bothering you?
  17. He said stat wise, not lore wise. Sigurd's max stats are quite low actually. He needs his weapon to even compete with Alm's ridiculously high max stats. Sigurd Class: Knight Lord Lvl 30 Weapon: Sword,Lance Skills: Pursuit,Miracle HP 80 Str 25 Mag 15 Skl 22 +10 Spd 22 +10 Def 22 Res 18 +20 Lck 30 Mv 9 Tyrfing Uses 50 Rank * Mt 30 Hit 80 Crt 0 Rng 1 Wt 7 Eff:l +10 Skill,Speed, +20 Resistance, gives Miracle skill. Damage output : 55 - 40 = 15 Alm Class: Lvl 40 Hero Weapon: Sword,Bow HP 52 Str 40 Skl 40 Spd 40 Def 40 Res 40 Lck 40 Mv 6 Valentian Falchion Uses -- Rank Mt 10 Hit 80 Crt 0 Rng 1 Wt 0 Eff: Effective against monsters; restores 5 HP per turn. Damage output: 50 - 22 = 28 (56 after double) Sigurd gets doubled even with his holy weapon. Even if you gave him the speed ring, he'd still get doubled because Alm needs only 1 point higher to do it. Then again, Sigurd's opponents need Pursuit to double. In the modern format, Alm is the clear winner here if we're comparing the units and their respective weapons only. Alm was made even more OP in Echoes with Scendscale and his new 3rd tier class. And this is coming from someone who prefers Sigurd. Edit: Okay, so after skimming through the video (sorry OP, nothing personal) I'm confused. Could you tell what stats you're using to determine the winner, Tenders? Because endgame Alm has the edge over Sigurd.
  18. Well the least you can do until you do is stop trying to discourage others from doing so. The opinion of someone who hasn't even played the game doesn't mean much. I've thoroughly played every game I rag on.
  19. Come on dude, I just cleared that up with someone else. I like the voice acting. It's the best in the series. It's not the best on Earth, or even within video games like I've been seeing people say. I gave my hypothesis on why they may feel that way and I also gave my reasons why I wouldn't bother with it. That money and effort should be spent in more essential fields, if they can do it all then great. But with the recent track record, I doubt it. I'd rather have a good game with no or minimal voice acting than a bad one with Oscar worthy performances.
  20. One dimensional? Come on, Garon's so morally grey it shows. Jokes aside, he's actually does have a really interesting backstory. It's told in the form of supports but it's there. Here. The personalty part tells you what you want to know. http://fireemblem.wikia.com/wiki/Garon I would have loved to play Fire Emblem: Concubine Wars.
  21. Really? Both are extremely big now.
  22. It wasn't. Compare. It's almost bigger than Archanea now.
  23. Not how that works, but okay. Regardless, Kaga made no mistake with not giving Valentia a Fire Emblem.
  24. Valentia is not a continent. Gaiden Prolouge Once, there existed “gods” Upon these lands. On this remote island Known as Valencia Were two sibling gods Called Doma and Mila. It's an island off Archanea. This is why it shares its "Fire Emblem". Gaiden literally means side story. I said I was looking forward to the rest of your Awakening revision. That means all of it.
