  1. I just wanted to say thank you so much since this had been dead for a long while, and coincidentally I JUST got an Ace3DS+ clone since I heard those had better compatibility. I messed up something and deleted my v3.1 rom on my SD, so I had to look for the patch again, and it just turns out that there is now an updated version of the updated translation compatible with my new card. Again, thanks a lot, this was sorely needed. Old names are fine but I just prefer the updated ones.

I'm having kind of the same issue with the old 1.0 version on Retroarch with the mGBA core (some sound effects just dissapear after a while until I restart), so I'm guessing it's an mGBA issue, maybe a recent update messed up something? I used to play on MyBoy for android and via injects/open_agb on the 3DS and I never had that issue previously.

I can see that this updated translation project has also been abandoned (possibly), but I just wanted to come here to report that the game with the Beta 2 patch won't run on my flashcart's firmware (R4i SDHC clone), nor will it run using ndsBootstrap on my DS Lite. The only way it can run on original hardware is with ndsBootstrap on my New 3DS XL (haven't tested it on my Old 3DS). The original translation patch by Heroes of Shadow still runs ok, with the same base rom, so this is an issue with this translation patch in particular. Anyone here has any idea of why that might be? **Edit** Checking the last updates of this project, it's clear that the new translation team had rough times when translating this due to them wanting it to be as faithfull as possible to other official localizations, and combined with the pandemic, it's no wonder the project has been sort of dead since 2020. I also read that the previous beta (beta 2 precisely) had kind of a mess with its files, which might even have something to do with it not booting on my flashcart. I don't know if my comment will be read by the team, but I hope you're all still around, and I'll wait patiently for the next updates to the patch. In the meantime, I guess I'll be "stuck" playing this beta exclusively on my New 3DS. Not that that's a bad thing, but I sometimes like playing my DS games on my actual DS.
  5. Hello! Before I go on, I just want to say that I greatly appreciate your work here and I've really enjoyed playing FE6 several times thanks to you. Anyways, I'm not sure if I've commented this previously over here but it's an idea that is always floating on my mind in regard to this game. When you get to consider this patch as finalized, and (possiblly) go back to apply the balance changes seen in your previous "numbers patch", I feel like you could change Roy to promote when receiving the Fire Emblem from Guinivre (around chapter 18 I think it was?). I have implemented it several times in custom patches that I've done to your normal translation (using FEBuilder) but I always get absorbed into trying to balance and re-balance the rest of the cast, weapons, etc. over and over again, only to not be satisfied by my progress and start from scratch again. Uh, I went on a tangent there. Anyways, I feel like it would be a good idea to have Roy promote at that point in the story, assuming you wanted to keep it somewhat tied to the plot and not just implement an extra item to promote him whenever like in FE7. It would be a good excuse to use the passing of the Fire Emblem to promote him.
  6. (Oh, it seems I misread something about the issue. Since you said the name didn't fit some screens I assumed it was support convos but I guess it was more of a menu issue with character limitations. Still, I would be glad if my previous suggestion could help you in any way after all.)
  7. Hello, Gringe! Before I say anything else, I want to thank you for making this splendid translation/localisation patch! I've really enjoyed it and it was thanks to it that I finished this game a couple years ago. <3 Now, I wanted to comment something on the "Gwendolyn" naming issue. I was thinking that maybe you could make characters closer to her, refer to her as "Gwen", and only change the name to the full "Gwendolyn" in the character profile and maybe in that one instance when she talks to herself. I feel that it could fit with other characters being somewhat overprotective of her and stuff, while simultaneously keeping the canon name AND not needing to change the spacing for like 95% of the dialog where she's involved. What do you think?
