  1. Lmao, I am also a TCNJ Honors Program Alumn. What a coincidence. Anyhow, your descriptions need to be condensed. In my current resume, I have every job described in 1-2 sentences. I also headline relevant skills to the job for which I am applying. This gives the employer/HR person the ability to look for the buzzwords and skills that get your application passed further along. Also, I don't know how you can gloat 'intelligence' on a job application. Most jobs just require a certain type of knowledge and the ability to consistently do the work. Having indications of these should be all you need. If you have any notable college projects like a research thesis, maybe that could be added in somewhere.
  2. I'm not particularly great. I have beaten very few of the games on their hardest difficulty settings. Been playing these games for over a decade and I still haven't beaten HHM lmao. I do not think I am wholly incapable. I definitely don't have as much time to play the games as when I was in middle/high school, and my attention often wanders elsewhere after struggling with a particularly difficult map.
  3. Resource allocation is one of the more engaging aspects of the series, and without it, there isn't much strategy to the games. I prefer little/no grinding, but I will take advantage of less-open options for excess EXP when possible, such as through BEXP and some casual arena use if a particular character isn't doing anything that turn and the option is available. I guess the closest I come to grinding is for supports in the GBA titles if I don't feel like flexing my Tactics rank. I really like how in FE4, you are somewhat expected to use the Arena, but it is not possible to 'abuse' it outside of having a scrub constantly lose to spam healer exp.
  4. Having spent a good chunk of my time as an FE fan being a haughty elitist, and realizing how stupid that phase was, I find the term a bit rude. I'm by no means a huge fan of Awakening, but I do appreciate the interest it sparked in the franchise. It's really not worth calling anyone that considering people are drawn to the games for different reasons.
  5. Tormod (FE10) - Increase his availability. Maybe put him into Part 3. Bartre (FE7) - Increase base speed by 2. Makalov (FE9)- Not that he needs much of a boost as a mounted unit in this game, but shifting his availability such that he doesn't join right before a desert map would be great. Geitz (FE7) - I would love to find a way to consistently use him without bogging down my experience by being hyper alert about my EXP allocation to lord characters. Noishe (FE4)- Pursuit. Ronan (FE5) - Swap Mag and Str growths.
  6. In games with low multipliers for effective weapons, like PoR, I usually ignore/forget about them. A notable example is the Hammer, which I usually equip Boyd with to handle the Ch 10 boss on HM for a quick stealth kill in a round. Otherwise, they are held onto until needed. In particular, they are quite valuable in FE11 since forging is great and most of the bosses are vulnerable to weapons effective against Armors and/or Cavalry. As a nod to the prodigious DD151, I usually name my Horseslayer GlueFactory to boot.
  7. Depends on the game/difficulty mode. For the most part, I utilize Iron weapons and reliable 1-2 weapons (hand axes and javelins) to take care of most of my needs. Steel comes in when my units have the Con/Str and Spd to reliably double enemies with them. I usually almost never use Steel Axes, though, except in the Tellius games, where many axe users have good enough skill to use them with little issue. On higher difficulties, I will use silver weapons when needed, particularly the Silver Lances many Jeigan-types tend to come with, to kill bosses or troublesome enemies. If a unit I'm intent on using has bad offense but good weapon ranks, I will devote resources into giving them the best weapons possible to shore up their combat. I remember having a particularly Str-screwed Noah in my last FE6 playthrough (like, 13 str as a 20/5 Paladin), who pretty much exclusively used Silver Weapons in the endgame since he couldn't 1RKO anything otherwise. I'm more cautious in using effective weaponry or special weapons (Killers, Braves, Reavers, etc.) until the final stretch of the game, when I mostly want to be done with it and wreck the map.
  8. Rath has a mount and doesn't start out with crap stats. Even if you do not train him in Lyn's Mode, he joins relatively close to level 10 with almost no competition for an Orion Bolt. If you let him chip for a few maps, he can promote at like lvl 10-13 by Louise's join time. By promotion then, he gains 1 range access and can utilize the Brave Bow, which helps shore up a lot of damage issues he can have from early promotion. Is he going to wreck face? No - pretty much no archer in FE will do that without extreme favoritism and a slow down of pace.
  9. are you going to Japan to buy a cart of FE3? you got moxie. I wish you luck. How was planning/cost? I intend to save up to go but that may coincide with the 2020 olympics, which is a big headache to contend with.
  10. Keep on keeping on. I used to end showers cold to help reduce dandruff at my doctor's recommendation.
  11. This sounds like you are trying to get experienced people to do most of the leg work for you. Coming up with ideas and making sprites, while requiring a time investment, don't really help with building a functional game. A decade ago I was a part of 'designing' an FE fangame. All of us were either sprite artists, map designers, or writers. We had the vast majority of the game script written, sprites edited, and maps designed. Despite this, none of us knew how to put any of these assets into a ROM by hacking. None of us even understood the bare minimum outside of editing stats in Nightmare. Despite all of the designing put into the game, we probably had completed less than a third of the work a fully-functioning game would require. And because none of us knew how to implement our design work into a game engine, no one knew how to manage what would make the game cut and what would not. Like many of the individuals in this thread, I implore you and your group to at least look into the basic concepts that go into eventing and map insertion. It is a lot of trial and error. Even if you do not want to personally engage in those activities if this hack sees the light of day, it will give you the perspective of what kind of work load a prospective volunteer might be expected to accomplish, as well as the foresight to see what designs may be more difficult than expected to implement. You probably have some of the main characters statt'd out and a basic script written - or something close to it. Try and make a simple map, even if it is not what you would intend to put into the final draft. Get a prototype chapter 1 out there - even if it has issues, starting from there might get the attention of more advanced hackers to help you with what problems you encounter with implementation.
  12. While expensive and hard to get a hold of nowadays, I would recommend Path of Radiance and then Radiant Dawn. They have a lot of fun features that would be both a mix of familiar and new to you based on what you have played so far. They implement skills (though in a different fashion from Awakening/Fates), including some fun ones like Shove and Smite. Radiant Dawn follows PoR's story quite well and has an epic, albeit disjointed, scope that is satisfying to play through. If you enjoy the split team aspect of Echoes, you might find the Parts system in Radiant Dawn interesting. If you do not mind employing some seedier methods of playing Japan-exclusive titles, Shadow Dragon and New Mystery are also a great combo. Shadow Dragon is fairly straightforward and the forging and reclassing systems are fun to explore.
