  1. I for one am hyped about this game. Looks like silly fun and I'm ok with that. I do wonder how the totally-not-mirages will be handle story wise, will they have supports and the like? If they do, I think the possibly smaller roster size would be forgivable. I don't mind how Alear looks, it's bold but it fits the feel this game is giving me. I love the bright cartoony nature of the game so far, much more than a muddy realistic style.
  2. This is probably a dumb question, but all I can find is class lists and rough ideas from the games early ages. I'm trying to plan out my units and want to have one unit of each moveset (or two movesets for mounted). Does anyone know now what classes have which movesets? Also, side question. What are the limitations on the dancer class in this game?
  3. Fair points on it being unachievable haha, but I want to do a lot still. Am curious how long a playthrough is if you skip everything on easy for the merc whistle items. I'm wanting to finish up the FE:TH support log too and that looks like it'll take me 150+ hours so I'm uncommitted on that rn, might try doing a chapter a day or some such in that. Meanwhile in three hopes... I'm on like chapter 7... of my first playthrough... so still a lot to play with in it. Just trying to figure out my FE goals before Engage releases lol.
  4. Awesome, thank you! I kept looking up what carries over and what doesn't but couldn't find info on the record keeper 😞
  5. I definitely plan on doing the former, and am trying to gauge the best plans on playing past that. Doing new runs for stat boosters is a good idea, and you need it for hero's whistle too so I'll def keep that in mind. So those do carry over in NG+? Are you able to do any missions you've already done or are you only able to play missions from the current route?
  6. Hello! I bought this game at release but only started getting into it now, and was wondering what all constitutes for 100%? I probably won't do everything, but do want to do a lot. I know there is: Class mastery; Stat maxing; combat art maxing; weapon maxing; supports; special gifts; achivements. not sure if s ranking maps count or not... or if there is anything I missed. What would you recommend doing? I spent 350 hours 100% FE:W and would like to spend as much or more on this game, but don't want to spend a hundreds of hours grinding either... Thank you in advanced 😄
  7. I just want to say that I'm down for the griffons to return 😛 literally the reason I like BL. I'm guessing Dark Flier, War Monk, and Tome Horsey will all be DLC. I think a lot of those proposed characters will be good, as will as the twisted. The idea of giant playable beasts sounds funny, and I'd love supports between them and the other characters so now I really want this to happen.
  8. Thank you so much @DaveCozyfor the detailed response, lots of good things to keep in mind there. Like I said earliar, most of the utility gambits are kind of bonkers to make up what you are loosing to use them. Glad to hear the opinion on Ignatz has improved since I was here last. I honestly believe every character has at least one good use, even if it's niche or they fall off early. Paladin Ignatz seems interesting. I've messed around a fair bit with classes, but never tried that one out. Assassin still seems like it would be situationally better than it though, and might be worth getting after Paladin even if you go that route.
  9. You can dismount into the infantry class though, which makes them strictly better as they have access to two movesets instead of 1. Agree with the gender locked classes being stupid though. I didn't play AoC, but I feel like this game is being clever about how it's handling units. You use classes to devi out movesets while staying in the realm of reason, give every character a personal ability that affects the way they play so clones is less of an issue cuz they still play differently, and divide up the characters so you only start with a third of the total characters if that. I expected half as many characters as we seem to be getting, but I'm not mad at the way they were handled.
  10. Ooh. I'll need to try this out! I previously assumed it wouldn't be great since Sylvain sounds like he'd be better in high movement. I love Sylvain's personal and the Mage class though so this really intrigues me.
  11. Yeah, I said Ignatz originally because I thought he'd be best but people have explained other characters that might be able to go into it easier. And yes, I am mostly calling it OP because it takes minimum resources to obtain. Huh, never experienced or thought of gambits. Good catch! And thanks, I appreciate it 🙂 Yes, but it is more unlikely than it seems, since it requires over 3 melee units (if you are only using the gambit on one person) and even more ranged units. Harrharrharr suggested using a weaker unit that has no chance of being useful in the PP to make them useful during the EP. It allows you to play IW more aggressively. Yes, your EP is nonexistent, but you can chain together up to 6 powerful PPs (outside of the IW user) with little concern of your glass cannons dying. You can go all out and send a strike team fairly deep into enemy ranks without getting surrounded to the point where the IW user starts getting hit.
  12. Yeah, you need to position in such a way everyone would be hit by the gambit. Isn't too bad though, since you're likely have a few enemies on you already, and there's a lot of powerful mages. Yeah, it's probably more fair to say that the gambit is strong when used right, but support gambits kind of have to be thanks to the loss of attack power. Stealth is just a way to make easier use of it, since you are less restrained where you use it and you don't have to do as much careful positioning to protect the gambit user. I thought it was a bit OP when I discovered it, but I now think I was mostly excited I found a cool combo on my own. I'm the FE player who beats the games due to heavy research and other peoples' builds, typically not by anything I did on my own.
  13. Attack before you use the gambit... then gambit up for enemy phase. Since Impregnable Wall can affect up to 6 units if they are positioned right you can easily get a melee, ranged, and potentially healer depending on everything else to serve as a strike team. Have this smaller attack team strike one half of the map while the bulk of your army attacks the other. I normally don't split my army but in this set up I can have 4 units be just as effective as the bulk of my army without have to worry about them dying. Yes, if there are too many units they can swarm Ignatz... one of the only ways to die alongside passive damage, melee attacks, and just running out of uses on the gambit. However, I was able to go basically all out in the VW final chapter and didn't even come close to getting surrounded. Had two attackers and a dancer, maybe a healer too, on top of Ignatz Hmm, fair enough. I tend to level my units relatively equally and promote them all at once so this never even crossed my mind. Maybe this isn't as OP as I thought it was, but I still think it's quite solid and worth checking out. Never thought it was as good as say, Retribution Dimitri or Dancer Petra though.
