  1. I think it's pretty clear that it's not, given his extra dialogue. However, here's a thought. Maybe Chrom and Lissa are with a larger group that has found the Avatar but can't seem to wake him up. Thus the excitement and whatnot has already happened and died down. Then, as people clear off to make camp or something, Lissa says that they can't just leave the Avatar there, and cue waking up cutscene! Yeah, it's obviously a case of the developers not wanting to make a whole new cutscene. But I like this rationalization.
  2. If we suspect that Naga might have had a hand in this, it gets a lot easier to explain - if she is assisting in the Avatar's "ressurection", then she probably made sure that he/she was dropped off in a convenient place and time.
  3. Yeah, sorry about that. I generally place Galle's voyage to Archaneia in the middle of the war because to me, it seems like Loptous has already gone "mad" - unlike Medeus who has grown to hate humans for their treatment of dragons, Loptous seems to just enjoy being an evil bastard for the sake of being an evil bastard. Also I find it hard to believe that he would make the pact with Galle if he didn't have some ulterior motive - if Loptous predicts the earth dragons losing in the end, he would be more inclined to possess Galle and his descendants so that he could get around the whole "being sealed away at the Dragon's Altar" buisness (though that's an especially wishy-washy bit of speculation and your timeline there also works just fine). *ahem*... ...So... uhh... about those Taguel...
  4. A fair consideration about the devs. It seems to me like Tiki must be referring to someone specific that we know, though, from the context of the quote. But here's how I figure the timeline. The Divine Dragon/Earth Dragon war ends around 1100 years before Marth's birth. It lasted at least 250 years, though we really don't know that much about it. Archbishop Galle visits Archaneia sometime during the war and makes his pact with Loptous (probably in the second half of the war). Sigurd's adventures take place around 300 years after Galle visits Archaneia. Thus, in the worst-case scenario, Sigurd lives around 800 years before Marth's birth. It's more likely that he lives closer to 900 years before Marth. This makes Tiki's reference to a hero living around 1000 years before Marth fairly accurate. (Crusader Baldur fits the timeframe slightly better, but we don't know if he is as similar to Chrom as Sigurd is).
  5. Naga does not have the power to create, no. At least not from nothing. But like all sufficiently powerful members of the Dragon Tribe, she can presumably manipulate life force (quintessence, as Nergal puts it). Furthermore, dragons of sufficient power have an annoying tendency to hang around as spirits after they "die", and they can later resurrect or possess people or whatever. I think that probably what happens is that, even sans dragon blood, the Avatar, due to his strength of bonds and heroic willpower and whatnot, is able to keep his/her spirit intact, and Naga helps form him/her a new body. It's as good of a guess as any.
  6. I think it's generally okay to view the characterization of Naga as a male in FE3 as something that was later retconned, especially considering the very real possibility that a not insignificant number of Jugdral immigrated to Archaneia somewhere between FE4 and FE1. (In her B support with the Avatar, Tiki states that Chrom reminds her of another hero, an ancestor of Marth's, who lived around 1000 years before Marth's time. This is roughly synchronious with Sigurd's life, and there is no evidence to support any sort of great mortal hero living in Archaneia during the divine dragon/earth dragon war. Combined with Sigurd's personality and overall appearance being quite similar to Chrom's, it's not unreasonable to speculate that some descendant of Seliph crossed the sea to Archaneia at some point in the roughly 1000 years between games.
  7. Even though the cinematic is the same, it never really made sense for me for them to find the Avatar in that field. There is no significance to it, after all - it's just some random stretch of land in south Ylisse where the Avatar happened to be when Future!Grima showed up to erase his memory. I figure that Chrom and co. check all the likely places first - that is, around Grima's corpse, the Dragon's Table, the Shrine of Naga atop Mount Prism - and that they find him at one of those. Mount Prism seems the most appropriate somehow, and it's also the last one they are likely to check, due to geographic proximity. We'll assume that the group splits up - part goes to Valm, the rest probably docks in Ferox before a smaller subset of the group heads back to Ylisse. Though probably Chrom's group stops by the Dragon's Table along the way to both check for the Avatar and to make sure that everything is calmed down. Probably some of the group stays back in Plegia to begin efforts to stabilize and rebuild the country. When Chrom gets back to Ylisse, he's probably pretty busy, initially. He probably sends out a good amount of knights to try to find the Avatar first while he gets things under control. Eventually he can take a break to go looking, and along with Lissa he finds the Avatar in a field somewhere. I'm willing to say that 6 months to a year sounds pretty reasonable.
  8. The Exalt Emmeryn Naga's Favor The Emperor's Will Grimshadow Flamewake What can I say, you asked for ship names, I gave you ship names. I, for one, would be proud to sail on any of these fine vessels.
  9. The lifespan change in Elibe is a bit hard to quantify, considering, as has been mentioned, that Fa and Sophia seem to be aging at approximately the normal manakete rate. However, it's also worth considering that when the Fire Dragons come through the Dragon's Gate and do not immediately assume a Manakete form, it's implied that they have lost their senses, similarly to what we see in Archanea. Also, in answer to a question posed earlier, the Dragons passed through the Dragon's Gate not to go to a land where they would be longer lived, but because as they could no longer remain in a transformed state all the time, the Scouring had decisively turned to favor the humans, and it would be only a matter of time before the dragons on Elibe would be wiped out. As for the question of evolution, I don't find it too hard to believe that the dragon laguz of Tellius eventually because the Dragon Tribe of Elibe, apart from the logistical problems that such a move would entail (I am also perpetually unsure of whether or not Elibe has to be in its own separate dimension, considering the different static world magic levels beyond the dragon's gate (which I think must lead to Archanea, perhaps to what eventually becomes known as the Ruins of Time) and in Elibe, at least through the time of FE7). Keep in mind that all Laguz and Beorc share a common ancestor - it's thus not completely out of the question to assume that magically-aided evolution lead to the Dragon laguz to become more and more powerful and more and more dragon-y.
  10. I actually have a fairly detailed theory of why this is, somewhat related to the previous speculation that I've already posted here. But it's a bit tinfoil hat and even more off topic. Perhaps I'll formulate up my various thoughts, suspicions, and wild theories and post a new topic for them.
  11. Yes, in fact I did. I thought I recognized your name. (Also I am new with this system here, so I hope you either look at my profile her or get this response)

  12. Tiki does not, no. But she never mentions that she met the ancestor of Marth's to which she is referring. We know that Holsety, at least, was keeping an eye on the events in Jugdral. Tiki could easily be operating off a description of the events of FE4. Her exact words are as follows: [regarding Chrom compared to Marth] He is much more direct, and committed to what he believes is right. Chrom might more resemble a different ancestor, from the age I was born in. Another great man in their line, from 1000 years before Marth... She also speaks with some uncertainty here, which would not be present if she had met this mysterious ancestor, as her whole "see into the heart" buisness seems seems to result in her being fairly certain in her comparisons. Also, Tiki was put into an enchanted sleep from when she was born until when Bantu woke her up. She would have had no way to meet any ancestor of Marth's, regardless of where in the world he was living. So essentially, her never visiting Jugdral isn't an obstacle, because she's speaking based on what she knows of history and not from actually having known the man she is comparing to Chrom.
  13. Yes, the avatar is most definitely Plegian, though it's never really touched upon. More then that, the avatar, as the only child of Validar, is actually Plegian royalty. After all, Validar might have been particularly evil, but there was never any talk about his usurping the throne or otherwise coming into his position as King of Plegia in a underhanded manner. And while sure, with Spotpass content you can recruit Gangrel, and sure in his A support with a male avatar he claims to be reforming, realistically nobody is ever going to let him take over the Plegian throne again (though admittedly I have not gotten around to seeing his ending). Personally, I would have liked it if in the end the Avatar became the king/queen of Plegia. Would have been good for some peace and reconstruction. Ah well. Headcanon and suchlike.
  14. Tiki gives the figure of this mystery hero existing around 1000 years before Marth, at around the time of her birth. Given that Anri only lived around 100 years before Marth, then yes, Anri is also descended from a legendary hero. This number of 1000 years seems likely to be more of an approximation than an exact amount, but let's consider what we know about the timeline at that point. There are no known mortal heroes of note on Archanea at around that time period. Humans are largely irrelevant in Archanea's history until the founding of the kingdom of Archanea, which takes place around 600 years or so before Marth's adventures. However, we do know that Jugdral is in the same world as Archanea - and furthermore, Archanea can be reached from Jugdral without too much difficulty, as Bishop Galle, the first Lopto emperor, ventured to Archanea to make his pact with Loptous. As for the precise timing of this... Bishop Galle needs to have made it to Archanea at some point during the divine dragon/earth dragon war in order to have made a pact with Loptous - after the war Loptous wouldn't have been around, and before the war Loptous would have no incentive to make a pact with a human. If Galle shows up while the war is ongoing, then Loptous has an incentive to make his pact, as it provides him with a way to escape notice from the divine dragons and to avoid being sealed away with the other earth dragons, as he is on another continent inhabiting a human body. Anyways, the dragon war lasts from around -740 to -500 on the Arcanean calendar (Marth's adventures take place around 600). And around 300 years after Galle makes the pact, the events of Geneology of the Holy War take place. So, why are we talking about FE4 now? Keep in mind that Tiki's mysterious hero reminds her of Chrom. Now, Tiki met Marth, but was sleeping for a long time, and certainly did not have any previous experience meeting heroes in Archanea. We can conjecture that she has information that is not common knowledge, though - it's reasonable to assume that the dragons have a better record of history, especially in events that they were at least tangentially involved in. The implication, here, which roughly syncs up with the time given for the mysterious hero to live, is that Tiki is referring to Sigurd. After all, Sigurd is the previous FE lord most reminiscent of Chrom. They both look rather similar, they're both older than is the norm for a FE lord, they are both married and have children, and so on. Obviously this is only conjecture, but unless Tiki is referring to a character who has never before been seen or mentioned in any information whatsoever, Sigurd seems to me the most likely candidate (Though I suppose she could also be referring to one of the 12 crusaders, most probably Baldo). Granted this has nothing to do with Grima (though I'm personally a supporter of what I guess we're calling the "Exdeath" theory), but it's worth noting.
  15. Pardon me for jumping back to the original post and out of the current conversation, but as some people have already mentioned, it's most likely that the Jugdral saga takes place after the Scouring. I seem to recall hearing that IS has confirmed that the Jugdral games take place around 600 years or so before the Akaneia saga, but I can't offer any confirmation to that fact. I would also argue, though, that the Elibe games have to take place chronologically before the Jugdral games. If I may elaborate... At the end of The Scouring, the Ending Winter happens. Dragons in Elibe have to become Manakete as a result. Humans overpower them, and they flee through the Dragon's Gate to... somewhere else. An alternate dimension? A different continent? We can't say for sure. However, FE7 tells us pretty definitively that they can live as Dragons, not Manakete, in this new land. (This would seem to imply to me that it's not part of the same world, but that's irrelevant to the rest of the theory). Now, at some time before the Akaneia saga, a great catastrophe of some sort happens, the Divine Dragons decide that the dragons in Akaneia need to become Manakete, the Earth Dragons disagree, etc etc. At first, this seems like The Ending Winter again. But... if we assume that the Dragon's Gate leads from Elibe to Akaneia, this can't be the case - after all, in FE7, nearly 1000 years after the Ending Winter, the dragons on the other side of the Gate aren't in Manakete form. Now, where does Jugdral come into all this? Well, if I remember my timeline correctly, Dark Archbishop Galle makes his pact with Loptous about 300 years before the events of FE4. Now, if we trust the information given to us in the Akaneia saga as accurate, we know that Medeus was the only Earth Dragon not sealed away following the Divine Dragon/Earth Dragon war. And yet, 200 years after the pact is sealed, the 12 "gods" appear before the 12 Crusaders in human form. Thus, the Divine Dragon/Earth Dragon war presumably ends somewhere in that 200 year stretch. By our earlier logic, the Elibe games thus have to take place chronologically before the Jugdral games. From this point, more speculation can take place on the exact nature of the Dragon's War, the pact with Loptous, and the Miracle of Darna. I have some rather crazy theories (Including one that I believe provides a compelling narrative link between FE7 and FE4), but I'll hold off on those as to not completely derail the thread. Again, sorry for being a little off-topic.
