For "Badly translated", I did'nt talk about errors but voluntary name changes (sorry for the mistake of language). It is obvious that translate Katakana is hard, myself I do'nt have that claim. But between Sully-Evening and between Viaur -Vrion there is a difference that isn't phonetic. -

It's right, but but as I watch a lot of animes badly translated, I become paranoiac ^ ^ ' After that, if they translate the names, they do so for all (with the same research in the names) and then I will not say anything. Otherwise they keep the official names (and not in katakana either). -

No but a character who means rape, even in Russia, this is verry fuuny. I don't think Inteligent systeme can make a error like this. I don't want the kanakana's name, I want the same names as japanese, but in the official romanization, it's all. After, if the translation team made mistakes, I do not care, but if they change their name just for fun I hate this >< -

I do not even see the connection with the rest of the conversation. xD Viaur is valid as Viole but I don't think Inteligent System can make an error like this. And so I don't know why change the names, this all x) I have no problem with Sumia beacause this is an error, so the name ans the origin of the name don't change. But yes the conversation become ridiculous >< -

I mean the japanese name for Virion(and not Vioron ><) is officially Viaur(on the website), and not Viole(who means rape in french and is a fan translation). -

yes, but the official japanese for Vioron is 'Viaur" and not "Viole" who effectly means rape in French xD. [edit]: And here the names are for the american's localization... -

It's just that I dislike when translators take liberties because in general, it will create inconsistencies or it's worse. And the names are the first thing we can see... -

I don't have the problem "it's sounds better" %) i don't care of this, it's just that Japanese names are searched at the etymology. If the name of the same origin, it does not matter. -

No, "sowareé is exactly the same pronunciation. i don't now how a "é" can be read as a "i". xD I am not criticizing the translation errors(as Sumia instead of Smia), but the name changes. -

On the official site, we can see the romazination of the names. And I don't know how "soware" can be read Sully %) -

I just said that I pronounce "r" as "l" if I said the word as a japanese, it was just a exemple. The original pronunciation for Chrom is obviously in english. -

Yes, the "u" is almost silent. For "desu" we say "dess", except if we insist on the "U", but I write it "desu". -

Miatt replied to VincentASM's topic in Fire Emblem: Awakening
I always try to pronounce the names in their original pronunciation. If the word comes from the English> English pronunciation. In katakana, as I say the "r" "l", because my "l" is closer to the "r" Japanese. If I say Chrom in japanese, I say Ku-lo-mu. -

I loved the trailer, the voices seem good, shame about the name changes, When shall we have the same names as the Japanese version? I hope we will have more faithful names for the European version (as shiida / caeda). -
The firsts was a workout, but it's mainly the latter that reflects my level.
