And given how well FEA sold in the West and given how the IF game debuted across all directs Jan and April, one would have thought this game will at least make a 2015 release in the West. Thanks… my first FE game was FEA and the box art had tons of characters… so I was just scared for a bit. But the other characters don't appear in CGI… does this mean…. anything?

So for those who like the story spoiled and characters spoiled and mechanics spoiled can have a place to discuss this… I personally cannot wait to hear more about the characters and the endings :) It makes the wait for 2016 better...

I dont understand why they advertise a game with choices Because having 2 versions of the game with each based on Hoshido path and Nohr path doesn't seem like any choice to me They're saying we're giving you the choice of choosing which ending/route you want by having 2 separate versions of the game. If you want Hoshido path, buy the Hoshido game, if you want the Nohr path, buy the Nohr game. If you want a happy ending with both sides making peace to face the true evil, buy the 3rd and final unannounced game.

The normal, separate physical versions are 4,700 yen each: This means will only be able to play the path of the physical copy you purchased. Each has separate box art. The good news is that you will be able to purchase the other route as DLC for a discount of 2000 yen. So its like Pokemon Black and White (and considering their Japanese names it really is.) Digital version is 4,700 yen as well: Pay and download the game. You will play up to Chapter 6 and then you will decide which side you want to go with. Once you make your choice, YOU CANNOT play the other route that is until you fork over the 2000 yen to unlock it. There will also be a third path available as DLC at a later date. Amusingly enough, the site emphasises that each of the two versions (Hoshido and Nohr) contains a similar amount of content as the previous game, Awakening. So you won’t be paying for half a game at all, if you buy just one of the versions. The Fire Emblem if: Special Edition will be available upon release and includes both White Kingdom [Hoshido] and Black Kingdom [Nohr] routes, and prepays for the upcoming third DLC route for 9250 yen. The special edition also includes a limited edition artbook and includes a Fire Emblem Cipher TCG game card. Correction with the digital version is that you buy it first, and then you get locked after you choose. You can then buy the other route (which is essentially a whole different experience/game) for half price. That's not as terrible as Pokemon since they mirror each other almost and you have to buy an ENTIRE game at full price again.

Will EU get it earlier? I really wanted to play this in 2015… that trailer just makes it even more sad because its so good. Its interesting how the Aversa of the next game is on the Nohr side… she's way more lewdly designed though.

Isn't this game coming out Summer Japan 2015? Still no info? FEA had way more info after an approximate release window was announced. Game will get delayed? This is a BIG game for the 3DS in 2015. It is a game Nintendo announced across GLOBALLY at the start of this year. You cannot be reasonably expecting news to only trickle through AFTER July 25's FE music concert right?

this will be really really bad DLC to unlock certain characters is meh, but buying amiibos to unlock? that's really really annoying.

I'm not familiar with Amiibos, how will they affect FE If at all? Aren't they just some kind of figurine that you can "level up" by "interacting" with it? I don't see how it changes gameplay or is in story?

I still play with my 2DS because the N3DS standard isn't available (yet?) in NA. Just wondering what are the chances Nintendo will lock exclusive content (story, characters, DLC, events) to N3DS? Basically, if you don't have a N3DS, then you cannot enjoy some parts of the FE If game. To worry or no worries?

Sure I see your point But this mushy mushy everyone first crush stuff is a very skewed way of portraying the so called relationships mechanic. It's certainly very pandering.

Isn't kibayashi just responsible for the main story? Perhaps he's not responsoble for writing the individual supports at all. I understand that there NEEDS TO BE THIS OTAKU ELEMENT for game to sell but still

Well I'm not sure about previous fe characters as I've only played Fea. So much mushy mushy first crush romance.

Pretty much everyone agreed FEA portrays idealism of romance - idealism of marriage - idealism of pure love straight to marriage. So in FEA the significant majority (some argue all) of the playable characters still have their V-cards (oops), or never had a BF, or never had a GF, or exhibit this is the FIRST TIME IM IN LOVE moments. Even Virion the womanizer, you would have thought he's lived a pretty colourful life up till now, reveals to Frederick during support that he's "not THAT kind" of man. And he's basically just been messing with good ole Fred. What are the chances that the majority of characters in this game gona exhibit FIRST TIME IN LOVE moments? Its so cliched! I'd say pretty damn high. =/ 1) "Oh my Lord Avatar", I've set my eyes on your for soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo long. anyone else have any thoughts on playing FEA (or any anime styled portrait RPGs) on the XL and whether pixellation is an issue?
