  1. New classes are a must. As much as I love this game (easily my favorite since Radiant Dawn, my favorite in the series), the current class system just gets under my skin. Or to be more precise, while I love the ability to switch classes whenever and have them be non-linear, the current selection just feels...off. Going from Soldier to Pegasus Knight or Cavalier makes perfect sense. But then for Advanced Class, what is a Pegasus Knight supposed to move into? Paladin? Why would a Pegasus Knight have focused any energy into Riding, let alone the amount needed to be a Paladin? Wyvern Rider? Okay cool, if you have sufficient Axe expertise, which you typically won't. My Ingrid was forced to languish in Pegasus Knight until she could skip past Advanced straight into Master because making her a Wyvern Rider would've wasted her valuable time upgrading a weapon I wouldn't have her using. In general, the Master Classes just feel wrong. For Dark/Holy Knights, why would there be any reason prior to rank up your Warlock/Bishop to have that high of a level in Riding? The C ranking in Lance I get, that's not too extreme, but an A in riding, for a class that up until then had no business on a horse? What the hell? War Master is pretty much the only option for a Warrior to promote into...you know, unless you played Hilda as a Warrior, in which case enjoy being blocked off from War Master due to your lack of penis! Conversely, making Gremory, the only class that promotes an all-magic character, female-only is a savage blow to any male mages on your team. So here's my recommendations. First, remove gender restrictions. Just knock that off. It was a dumb move that was rectified in Fates, so why are we bringing this archaic nonsense back? It was more forgivable in past games when characters had to stick to a linear class progression, but when my Lysithea can't become a Dark Mage despite knowing dark magic, that makes zero sense. Pegasus Knight needs to be either shuffled into Advanced, or a new mid-tier Pegasus class needs to be added into Advanced. The whole Dark Mage nonsense needs to be reconsidered; once you make it gender-neutral, you need to have a way to obtain Dark Seals outside of just the Death Knight. Make them available in the shop but you can only buy, like, one a month. Or have them be tournament rewards, or quest rewards, or Paralogue rewards. I don't care, just make them more available. Beyond that, we need more and better Master Class options. Currently all of the Advanced classes require you to have either an A in one weapon or a B/C in multiple. But then for Master, it's just A in multiple, and then B/C in one. Why not have classes that require an S, to reward specialists? Trueblades, Berserkers, hell I'll even take Halberdiers. Great Knights just feel like this weird off-putting frankenstein, because with the amount of armor AND riding expertise it requires, it's a near impossibility for Armored Knight/Fortress Knight units to smoothly transition into, and it's a near impossibility for Paladin units to smoothly transition into. Do what the past games did, make it a "jack of all trades, master of none" class. Change its requirements to B Armor, B Riding, B Axe, B Lance, B Sword. That would make it a rewarding class to any unit that would naturally spread itself thin like that, like Ferdinand. But then have Gold Knights which are focused more directly on riding, lance and sword, and then super duper fortress knights that focus on armor, axe and lance. Oh, and while I'm here, why do the final chapters have chests when the thief line awkwardly stops in Advanced with Assassin? It's the same thing with Sniper; there are cool perks to being those classes, but for endgame they're dead-end ruts when Master Classes are sitting right there. Long story short, I like a LOT of what they did with the classes, but the system needs a shake-up, and thankfully we live in an era where patches can do that. Whether IS will have any incentive to actually make better classes is yet to be seen, but hope springs eternal.
  2. So not for nothin, but shouldn't the sidebar on the main page just read "Fates" and not "Fire Emblem Fates"? It's not like Awakening says "Fire Emblem Awakening", or any of the others etc etc.
  3. Any chance the characters page will be updated with the new info from the site?
  4. So I guess, until proven otherwise, just go with "A Naga did it"?
  5. How would it not be "canon" if it was within the game? I mean, I could understand if it was in the Outrealm gate, but the fact that Gangrel can help beat the final boss, and no eyebrows are raised, just brings up too many questions. Unless I'm missing a perfectly logical explanation somewhere, it takes a dump on a perfectly good story. Which sucks, especially seeing how they made a logical and reasonable explanation for Paralogue 21's appearance of you-know-who, but they couldn't do the same here?
  6. Okay, this has been grating in the back of my mind. How in the hell did Gangrel survive? Like, I've looked at some of the other information on the other paralogues, and I can get how Paralogue 21's insertspoilerhere survived, but Gangrel? Didn't you kill him last you fought? How in the holy hell did he survive?
