Yea. And considering THIS game is THE game everyone refused to shut up about so much around me it gave me visible agitation, that doesn't help.

I don't remember. My rule with this game is "I will not play it if people are talking about it." Because I like to go into games unbiased, and with zero opinion, so when people keep saying it's the best game to exist and I get disappointed at many parts of it I get agitated. Like how Xenoblade is the best game ever but I don't like it's combat, quest system, + more, but I went into 2 with no expectations and had fun with it and finished it.

I don't think economy is the best in general I just like Nera. She's sweet and the type of character I like a lot. (Reminding me of my girlfriend sometimes definitely helps.) And I believe she seems somewhat sad later in the game if you pick Bianca, so I like going for her, since she's the best choice in my eyes. And I don't think my first pick is ever the canon option.

Might just be because I'm used to seeing it more now from the series, but his artstyle has kind of grown on me. I quite like it for some characters, not all, though. And yes, Nera is the best.

Remember to use buffs and even statuses. Statuses usually work on quite a few bosses in Dragon Quest.

@Interdimensional Observer Sorry for the awkward way of replying to this, the site refuses to load the page this is on properly right now for some reason Yea, I've seen it, it's looks really neat, and also does it's own thing with the style, looks fun, I would be interested in trying it out sometime. Inspired, definitely, but from the reviews I've seen of it, definitely has it's own take on everything as well. Yea I know the curses were paper themed, but overall the theme wasn't purely about it in TTYD, I felt personally it was mainly nods to the artstyle of it, and like you said it definitely didn't dominate the style of the game. Yea, I agree, the writing wasn't amazing, obviously, it doesn't need to be, but it's funny and lighthearted and charming, like I said, the newer ones seem more like they're trying to write a parody of the world they're writing for, which I honestly like a lot less, in most cases.

Alright, I'mma gonna stop you right here. I don't want a carbon copy of TTYD. I'm honestly so sick of hearing this "argument" from people who like the newer games. We don't want "a copy of TTYD". I just want an actual RPG again. I don't like how Sticker Star -> Origami King are set up, gameplay, battle, etc. wise. It's not why I play the series. I don't like the stories of the newer games, because they feel like parodies of the Mario universe, instead of stories in the mario universe. I guess I wouldn't mind the funny settings and jokes if a series I loved didn't become something completely different and die for jokes. The gameplay isn't anything I like or want, the story isn't, the aesthetic isn't (paper mario used to just be an aesthetic choice, not a gimmick). It's not a game I like or want anymore, so I'm not going to buy it. I don't care if it's "a step in the right direction" well, I guess they are, but considering they were like 100 miles apart from the older games, I would rather not take 100 more titles to get back to where we started. The series, as long as it stays this way, isn't for me anymore, and I'll admit it, you can like this game all you want, but I will never appreciate it, because it's not something I like or want anymore, if you do, it's all good man, but I'm just annoyed looking at this series I love nowadays, as it is nothing like it was when I enjoyed it. Super Paper Mario was different, but still held true to what I liked about the prior two games.
