So Chris Wagar, a gaming blogger I follow, recently let his friend, an old-school FE fan, answer some questions they'd received about about the differences between Awakening's and Conquest's approach to map design and difficulty. So, It seems like they nerfed most legendary weapons, so the lords don't overshadow other characters. But the balance bitween them is completely off. Roy's Sword of Seals, one of the most OP legendary weapons ever, got nerfed badly. It Lost a lot of the protection buffs( DEF and RES in smaller values and limited use), but more importantly, It Lost the iconic ranged flame atack. Ryoma got a ranged counter at the same power, but of course, doesn't have any buffs. Are you kidding me that small +2 DEF/RES is a Fair trade off for the lack of a ranged counter? Takumi has both close and ranged counters, and his weapon has the same power, with an added colorless advantage( although the Double ranged counter is from his skill). That only shows how completely off their balance is. I can only imagine the disapointment when Ike and his Ragnel comes with the lost ranged atack. Do you think they will rebalance this stuff? Takumi needs an emergency nerf, like seriously.

Any chance someone has created a mod/hack that imports Roy from fe6 into fe8? Roy is one of my favorite characters and i would love to see this sort of minor hack. If something like this already exists I would appreciate a nudge in the right direction. Thanks!

It's been a while since there was a FE6 Shipping thread, so why not? Decided to include the Roy supports without endings as well, simply because Roy/Wolt has its fans and I thought "might as well throw in all of them for fairness sake." My preference tends to vary a lot, since I like most of these besides Marcus/Alen/Lance. I guess if I were to give a #1 it'd be one of Shanna or Larum. Probably Shanna, since while Larum's support is really funny, Shanna's is just really sweet. I like it more than the Lilina support, truth be told.

So while playing Binding blade I have to say I am quite happy with Roys growths. So my question is who is better Eliwood or Roy? Im going with Roy because at ch 5 level 12 he is currently 11 str. If it were eliwood he'd be at least 9 or so and Id have to use an energy ring on him to even make him decent at this point. So who would you go with Eliwood or Roy.

It's come to my attention that a lot of people do not like Roy. To me, Roy was my best lord. Stat wise to be exact. But some people said his stats were trash. Here is my Roy: I only used one dragonshield from a secret shop. I didn't take picture from before promotion or after.

But is there ANY info on whether or not the Roy (and by extension Corrin) amiibo having functionality in this game? I have literally waited an entire month since the game released to play this game (which I already own, but haven't opened) just to get Roy as my first amiibo unit. He is one of my favorite characters in FE (Yes because of Smash, but still) and was the first DLC I bought in awakening, and was even one of my best characters in that game (Only behind my beastly children Inigo and Morgan). So, long story short, I want to know, is there ANYTHING (now that we are a week away from his release) on whether or not if we will get to use the boy? -
So now that its released does anyone here know if the Roy amiibo does anything? And if so, could you tell us what it does? Thank you.

I am not questioning it, though why do some people seem to love him so much, ignoring any and all Super Smash Bros.-based reasons? From my experience while seeing people talk about Roy, I have only seen hate. Again, I am not questioning it. I am simply curious.

So I was thinking, with Lucas back in smash, and the announcement of the Mother 1 translation being released worldwide as Earthbound Beginnings, many are predicting Mother 3 to follow suit. And since Roy has been added back in as well, at the same time no less, could this mean that FE6, or even the whole japanese exclusive Fire Emblem library, will receive the same treatment? Itoi's himself mentioned that Mother 1 was being translated and re-released as part of the 20th anniversary of Earthbound's release, and with it being the 25th anniversary of FE as a series, and the music concert on the way I could think of worse times to make such an announcement. Of course I may be looking into this too much, and as someone who's accustomed to the fan translations (the use of memes aside) I'd rather see these games remade rather than translated and redistributed, FE6 in particular due to its sameness and lack of polish, but I'd be excited if this turned out to be true. Penny for you thoughts, anyone?

So since we now have yet another Fire Emblem character with a cape my interest in the cape designs made me want to make a video on it but when I did some research I did not find that much information so I'd like to ask you guys what some of these symbols/insignias are if they have any meaning at all. I will also add the information in this topic. Marth's The symbol of the Archanea nation. Ike's Greil Mercenaries. Roy's Elibe's Fire Emblem. Lucina's Mark Of Naga. Two Nagas. Three Grima eyes. I hope someone knows what these symbols are supposed to represent! (Also sorry if there is already a post like this I created this account today for the purpose of posting this thread)

Today, Roy was announced as a DLC-character for Super Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS. That character could also get a amiibo. You know that Fire Emblem If has amiibo support. This game uses the amiibo of Marth, Ike, Robin and Lucina. Would it be possible to use the Roy-amiibo in Fire Emblem If? -
Gotta stop with the new projects, but... I was in the mood for crackshipping. And Sci-fi. So you get... this. So yeah, this is a Romance/Sci-fi fic focused on Roy and Eirika. Why Roy and Eirika? Because that is the couple my dreams that started this showed me. [spoiler=Roles, characters will be added as they appear, details to be added as revealed in fic]Roy- The first of our two main protagonists, a test subject of the Dream Machine. Actually the 'Seer of Ice'. Seliph- Roy's escort, Dr. Chalphy's son and Dr. Velthomer's stepson. Is unaware of the Dream machine's existance, but has his suspicians. Wishes to simply leave, but reality holds him back. Sigurd/Dr. Chalphy- A scientist of the facility who mysteriously died when Seliph was a child. Voice- A voice in Roy's head. Arvis/Dr.Velthomer- Seliph's stepfather, and is the scientist in charge of the Dream Machine. Dr. Sephiran- Scientist in charge of preparations for the Dream Machine's use, as well as its dissassembly. Eirika- Ephraim's escort Ephraim- Eirika's twin and the Seer of Fire. Eliwood- One of the children sent to the conference room with his escort. Rebecca- Eliwood's escort, seeems to have a constant smile... Okay, so finally my 1st Episode of Fire Emblem Dark Souls Season 2 is up! The character that everyone voted for the most is being cosplayed as is Roy from Fire Emblem 6: Fuuin no Tsurugi (Sword of Seals). Check it out here! Dear fellow Fire Emblem fans, The first Fire Emblem game that I played was the very first one released in the US/ Europe. The game that got me interested was Super Smash bros. melee. Roy was my favorite character, and he was someone I wasn't even familiar with. When Fire Emblem was released for the first time in a language I could understand I immediately bought the game, and fell in love... Fire Emblem is my all time favorite game with Jaffar being my favorite character in this game. (Zach Fair is my all time favorite video game character) With the release of Sacred stones I was once again captivated, but let down at the same time. By the time the endgame had come along all of my characters were lvl. 20/20... Grinding was made possible, and as a result every decision I now made carried significantly less weight. Exp. could be gained unlimited. When Path of Radiance was released I was filled with joy. However after playing through the game without ever having to really think about any of the decisions that I made with once again all of my characters at lvl. 20/20 by the time I finished the game, and to top it all off the story wasn't even done... When the Nintendo DS was released I happened to have enough money to buy one with the hope that one day a Fire Emblem game would be released on the system. What a disappointment Shadow Dragon was... Due to my disappointment with Path of Radiance, and my lack of finances I decided to not buy a Wii, and let this one pass me by. When I caught wind of Awakening being released I pre-ordered the limited edition Fire Emblem 3ds XL. This is the game that I am currently still playing. (Actually the only reason I bought a 3ds, and the only game that I own on a 3ds) I'm on my first play through, (Hard/ Classic) and will not pass any (real) judgement until I've at least beaten it. Due to the possibility of grinding... (I seriously hate grinding...) the difficulty level is a joke, and obviously has nothing to do with why it is taking me so long to beat this game. I'm a very casual gamer, and the story/ game has not been able to motivate me to keep playing out of excitement for what's to come next. That, and I'm very indecisive when it comes to picking a partner for myself, and all of my other characters... I'm actually here to seek help for that... :P (And to thank whoever made the translation to Sword of Seals which I will be playing once I've finished Awakening :D)

Okay, so I'm sincerely suprised at the lack of Character and Series threads here, ESPECIALLY a FE character discussion thread. This is a general FE character discussion thread. Come and discuss Ike, and Marth, as well as Roy and any other potential newcomers. To start things off, I'll give my little two cents. Who's staying: Marth, Ike I really don't see either of them being cut, despite the pretty much guarantee that SOME characters will not return. Ike doesn't really seem like the type to cut. I have no real reasons to back up him not being cut other than gut instinct, though. I just don't see TOO MANY cuts, and the characters I see being cut aren't him. Who's being included? I don't know. I think the current pool would be between Roy, Chrom, Lucina, and Lyn though. Not only are they the most popular choices, but they all have a bit extra going for them besides that. Roy was in Melee, which, is a big deal in itself. Chrom and Lucina are from the most current FE game, which PROBABLY DOES mean something considering Intellegent Systems seems to suggest characters to Sakurai. And Lyn was an AT, which is something. Who I would LIKE: Eirkia & Ephraim Duo, Tharja, Caeda I like Eirika and Ephraim a lot, they're from the only FE game I've played. Tharja has a lot of charm, and I like her design and moveset potential. Caeda got dem Lances, and she's Marth's lady. I've always had a thing for her, iunno why. Now, let's discuss :)
