So this is my introduction. I started playing FE when FE7 was released after I played 7 I moved on to 8 a few years later. When FE9 was released I did have the chance to buy it so a friend let me borrow his copy and the same when FE10 came out. I have never played the two DS remakes but I do want the chance to play Shadow Dragon all the way through Binding Blade this summer. I got Awakening from a friend hi didn't play it anymore, around 3 months before fates released in japan. After rushing though FE14 I asked my parents to buy me a copy of Fates and luckily the game came out 3 days before my birthday! So that's my fire emblem experience in a rather large nutshell. I look forward to interacting with other tacticians on this site!

Hi! I just joined today, and I just finished setting up my profile. I was wondering: does anyone have any advice about how to get started on posting on threads and whatnot? So I've been a fire emblem fan for awhile and I stalk Serenes Forest a lot and follow the facebook page.... but I never made an account so I just decided why not make one with the release of fates and whatnot, I'm working on my conquest team and I've become very interested in that my castle code sharing thread. I figured might as well make an introduction post first lol. My first fire emblem game was radiant dawn and ever since then I became obsessed with Ike and also went back and played some older games. I've played Blazing Sword, which has became my favorite, and also Binding Blade! (still looking to play more, especially path of radiance!!) random stuff about me; I'm also a computer science undergrad concentrating in game systems (so like game programming stuff). I really love it, as I enjoy tatical games and playing matchmaker I shamelessly admit is my favorite feature >w< Aside from FE games, I'm a writer/artist. (mostly for fanfiction/fanart) I'm a huge anime/manga fan, and I enjoy looking up random facts just because my curiosity ticked me. I'm a night person, and I'm usually online at night into the wee hours of the night. (I'm usually up till 4am) And when I'm passionate about a subject I can write pages and pages of words. I've been playing Fe ever since I pulled out Sacred Stones from the bargain bin when I was a munchkin. Since them I've played Blazing Sword,Sacred Stones,Radiant Dawn,Shadow Dragons and Awakening. Hello all! Yes, you may call me by my username, but if that makes you uncomfortable, "N" is fine! So... My first Fire Emblem was Awakening, and based on my username, it goes without saying that Gaius is my favorite character, and my favorite ship just happens to be him and Maribelle. I picked up Awakening around a year ago on a whim since I was bored at work and had some money to spend. I heard nothing but good things about the game, so I decided to pick it up and it blew me away! Never looked back since. But I didn't stop at Awakening. Once I was finished with the game, I moved on to Sacred Stones, Fire Emblem 7, and currently have Radiant Dawn coming in the mail. Sacred Stones' story tugged at my heart strings, and I'm currently halfway through FE7. So far, Ninian or Hector are my favorites, Joshua being my favorite for 8 (he and Seth carried my entire game). I'm also aiming on finding Path of Radiance for a fair price before I try out RD, and if I can't, I'll have to settle for watching playthroughs. Before I was a Fire Emblem fan, I was an avid Legend of Zelda fan. Still am, but not to same extent as I once was. Fire Emblem was a breath of fresh air for me, and I adored the characters I met in the games, (mostly). My hobbies include drawing, writing, video gaming, and RPing mostly, (yes, my muse would just so happen to be Gaius). Other than that, I'm a University student who procrastinates on their studies with RP rather than their homework. I also have a thing for sarcastic jokes, usually at my own expense. I finally decided to join the forums. Not only because I want to know and talk to the people in it, but also to help improve the quality and design of its members' game-related projects. You see, I'm not really interested in learning ROM hacking or using FEXP myself, but I certainly enjoy watching YouTube videos related to it. More than a few hours have gone into Klokinator's, Markyjoe1990's, MageKnight404's, Mangs' and other people’s channels. The games tend to be funny and enjoyable. Some even have nice visuals and interesting mechanics. But to be completely honest, I feel the overall quality of them is... well... lacking. Sometimes the writing is appallingly bad. In other instances, the graphics leave much to be desired. And on the worst cases, the game isn't fun to play at all. It seems most of these problems arise from the lack of experience and/or attention to detail from the creators, who in most cases are new to the world of ROM hacking/coding/game development. That I can understand and forgive for two reasons: First, because working on a project for fun and personal satisfaction is an experience we can all relate to and agree with. If you get no enjoyment from an experience and only remain because someone else says so, it becomes a chore. And, unless you're somehow getting paid for doing it, there’s really no reason to continue. Second, because condemning a person for being a beginner is not only unreasonable and unfair, but it's also entirely hypocritical. Every human being starts without knowledge or direction. The community surrounding this person is responsible for providing the resources and information needed to develop one's abilities. A healthy environment full of polite and genuinely interested people is what makes all its members grow and become better. That’s how the great people of history and the societies they built came to be. We all need to start somewhere, and I believe sites like this forum serve that purpose very well. Beginners can make mistakes when starting, as long as they learn from the experience. We expect them to do so. However, there comes a point where inexperience becomes sloth. And that shouldn’t be excused. Intentionally refusing the knowledge when being provided, working on a lazy, unclean and unfocused manner and being uncommitted to a project that already has the interest and following from other people, who have shown support since the beginning and are hoping to see progress, just because "it's easier that way” is completely unacceptable. This community has provided top-quality content in the past, rivaling that of teams with higher budgets and more sophisticated resources. I believe its members are capable of great things if they commit to the task and get organized. But there's a negative reputation, deserved or not, that follows almost every Fire Emblem fan game. The gaming community at large looks at hackers and fan game designers as amateurs, people without aim or focus that work on a whim, who are only wasting potential on another company's intellectual property when they could be working on their own. I disagree with those who think that way. Productions that serve as a tribute to an already existing franchise have just as much value as a completely original game, not only because they're capable of having all the elements of a quality product, but also because they help newcomers hone their skills and reach a higher level of performance in whatever craft they're working with. We, as a community, must work to change this negative way of thinking and show everyone that we're capable of doing great things. I hope the day comes when a Fire Emblem fan game is not seen as lesser form of entertainment when compared to the original, but as it’s equal instead. For now, all I can offer to the people in this forum is advice and support when requested or needed. If you wish to discuss something with me or want feedback on your project, please, let me know. So, I finally decided to make a Serenes account. I've only been playing Fire Emblem since January 2015, when I decided to pick up Awakening, since I was told it was a good game. I'll admit, I did enjoy Awakening a lot and I still do, although I originally played on Normal Casual, so I picked up a VERY reckless play style, which got me killed a lot once I started playing FE7. So far I've played every game except FE1, 3, Thracia 776, and the Tellius games, and I've only beaten 7, 8, 12 and 13 (only because a lot of my time it taken up by school). I'm aiming to complete Binding Blade and own FE9 by the end of the school year. I also spoiled myself on Fates in its entirety, so y'know. Once I get a better computer (and more time) I would love to get into FE hacking, however that probably won't happen for a while. Anyways, whether you read this or not, I hope you have a wonderful day.

Holla at you all. I'm good at writing so bear with me. I joined this forum for fun but discussions about FE would be nice. My favorite FE is Awakening (Yes I'm well aware of it's flaws) in terms of Fire Emblem I'm not nitpicky about anything except the gameplay especially when finding about Awakening's flaws. I've played all the Fire Emblems except RD and PoR(eshop naow!) but the GBA and DS are the ones I like most and really look forward to Fates.

Well, I thought i'd make this so I can have a nice little start to being on this site! My name is Elise (my real name is actually Jazlyn, but i'd much rather be called Elise for personal reasons) and I, quite obviously love the fire emblem series. I was introduced to the series through melee, just like many others were but didn't actually play a game until February 15th, 2015, when I played Fire Emblem Awakening for the very first time. So yes, I haven't even been a fan for a year yet! Even still, I have begun playing Binding Blade and Blazing Sword. I have also watched playthroughs of Path of Radiance (which I especially adore and hope to play that and Radiant Dawn for myself someday.) And like many others, I am extremely excited for the release of fates! I have actually already seen almost all of both Hoshido and Nohr's routes, excluding the final chapters, as well as the third path, which I don't want spoiled at all. I honestly like both routes but favor Hoshido a tad more. Well I believe that's about it, thank you for reading!!

Hello, everyone! The name's ProtoZeroSP, though you can just call me Proto. I'm new to the whole FE community (thanks to people like Markyjoe1990 and Mageknight404 for getting me into the FE community), only really watching from the outside on how things are done. Just a note, I am a little young, but I'm pretty mature for my age. FE Past, and planned Future I've played a few FE games in the past (First one was The Sacred Stones; Soon after, I came to Awakening, and, only recently, I've beaten The Blazing Sword (Eliwood normal)/ doing a Hector Normal Mode play through now), and the whole FE formula has become one of my favorite formulas. I am honestly still pretty bad with my tactics, sending units into near death situations, only to be saved by RNG (or be forced to restart the chapter). I am planning to play the future FE games, life FE: Fates (I am so hyped for that >_<), as well as playing some ROM hacks (The Last Promise by Blazer, anyone?). I also really want to go play FE:9 and FE:10 for the story, as FE games have great story all around. In terms of creation, I'm currently working on a project through that old engine that Yeti was forced to drop a while back, FEXP. Probably going to need some help on that, but more on it in later posts that I'll make. I'd also love to do things like Ragefest, or FE:E3, and even figure out how to do the animations and such for custom classes, but that'll be for later, when I can actually use Microsoft Paint well. More about me I live on the East Coast of the USA, and am still in school right now. Plans for the future are still being decided on, but I definitely want game developing to be a side job. Besides FE, my favorite game series is Super Smash Bros. (Can't decide between Melee and Sm4sh), being a rabid Fox/Falco main in Sm4sh. I like to "disagree gently" a lot, using words (and sophisticated ones, not curses) against the person I disagree with. I'm looking forward to being another great part to this already great community!

Hi everyone! I'm Kuki! I'm also known as LadyKuki on the FE subreddit for those who go on there. I am actually not new here; I've been a member of this forum since 2012. That was almost four years ago! How time flies. I've been inactive here for a while. I came back because Roy's return in SSB4 rekindled my interest in FE. I don't know why, haha. It just did. Anyway, I'm a big history buff as well as a science nerd. I love useless knowledge as well as dates. If you were to tell me your birthday, I'd probably remember it. I have a knack for remembering things. I am also an artist. Drawing is my favorite hobby, ever. I want to major in game design, animation, or illustration, maybe even all three. I also like to write, but I write more nonfiction than I do fiction. I see myself as a factual person because of that. My favorite TV shows are currently Silicon Valley and Rick and Morty. I love offensive and dry humor. That's just who I am. I don't watch much TV though. I'm more of a YouTube person. I watch a lot of JonTron, NormalBoots stuff, Vinesauce and a bit of Mr. Enter. My first FE game was FE8. I was actually not introduced to FE through Melee nor Awakening, but through a friend. One year, before a Brawl, I had a friend who was into Sacred Stones. I however didn't get into FE though, until 2010. The only FE games I've played are FE7/FE8, and I've yet to beat any of them. I'm not really good at strategy games, haha. I'm better at stuff like Pokemon. Regardless, I still like the series. I'm more knowledgable in the character, art direction and lore department than I am with the actual gameplay,

Well met everyone! A big time Fire Emblem fan here. I’ve actually been looking forward of being part to this community for a while now and decided to join today. This intro is going to be little long-ish (The longer the better, right) so if you read this word to word, I’ll give you a cookie :) Let’s start from the basic: How did I got into FE? I got to into FE because of Super smash bros Brawl, and to be more precise - because of Ike. Back in the days when I was still a kid, Ike was my favorite character to play (And still is my current main in smash 4) and I got interested of his origin. I looked up from the internet to see games where he appears and found out about Radiant dawn. I then looked from youtube all the cut-scenes of the game and thought it’s some badass hack & Slash game where you massacre everything with Ike & co. Instantly after watching the scenes, I requested the game for my birthday present; And I got it.( As you can see, I didn’t care about spoilers or anything like that back then xD) After I finally got to play the game, I felt a little bit disappointed, since it was not what I had anticipated. It was the first grind based strategy game I had ever played, so I still gave the game a go. Ironically, after playing couple chapters I found myself addicted to the game. I liked the control scheme, the plot and characters too, even though I didn’t understood english that well back then(Not my main language). after completing the game first time, I’ve been a Fire Emblem fan. (6 years already… Time sure flies xD). How I found the Serenes Forest site? By looking hints and secrets regarding Radiant dawn. Without the forest, Stefan would have stayed as a Base conversation ”Visitor” for a long long time. I found the forums just recently though. Fave Fire Emblem game? Radiant dawn. Not only because it got me into the series but I like the Tellius lore the most of the games i’ve played. I’m a big fan of laguz. In addition I like the mechanics the most too (Shove, Rescue, Canto, Biorhythm, magic trinity, Terrain: Gaps, floors etc.) I Also like 3rd tier promotions and the unique outfits the characters have. Fave Fire Emblem Character? This is Hard one because There are so many amazing and likable characters. But when asked, I usually go with Ike. He pretty much got me into whole FE. I Also like his personality the most of all of the main characters in the series, and I say this even without playing Path of Radiance ( I’ve heard that Ike’s personality got nerfed in the three year gap.) I want to give a honorable mention to Anna and Robin. Fave Fire Emblem Class? This one is hard too since I like many classes, but probably it’s a tie between Radiant dawn’s Black Knight and Awakening’s Tactician, mostly because of Designs. Fire Emblem games I have Cleared/ some progress info FE7 - Completed Eliwood and Hector normal modes with my smartphone emulator. FE8 - Completed both paths many times with my 3DS ambassador edition. cleared the Tower and the ruins at least once. Current playtime: over 500 hours. FE10 - Cleared with all difficulties and done some of the 2nd play-through events. FE11 - Cleared the game with emulator earlier this year and found the game rather boring, but that’s just my opinion tho. FE13 - Cleared the game many times. A while ago I finished my legit Lunatic mode run. I have cleared the Lunatic + mode too but resorted to grind money and a little bit of levels too in the DLC maps so I won’t consider it as a clean run. I will Probably never do a clean run of the difficulty because counter is bitch. Then again, I’m Emblem elitist so it wouldn’t be that surprising if I would attempt it one day. Current playtime: 655 hours. Fire Emblem If/Fates? I’m still anticipating the European release of fates while trying to avoid story spoilers as much as possible (Says the guy who just watched gameplay from Norh path chapter 19…) Other gaming stuff I like to play other RPG’s, strategy games, some classic retro games like Super Metroid and Sonic Adventure 2, and of course Smash Wii U. Metal Gear Solid 2&3 will get a honorable mention (Though It’s been so long since I last played those games). Hobbies Other than gaming: Reading manga, Making Remixes and original tunes with my logic pro X, Going for gym and running. I also like to watch snooker when I’m in the mood :) Music I listen a lot of music from various genres: Jazz, Rock, Hip-hop, Rap, J-pop, Trance, Dance, Death metal and so on. Usually though, the music is involved with Doujin influence. Anything Else? I haven’t used forums much in my past (only once before to join into a game tournament). This time though I’d want to make myself more useful and want to be more active here, maybe even make some new friends ( Not just leave this into introduction). I’ve actually wanted to do some kind of first time/fresh experience let’s play of FE6 with screenshots here in the forest, if I got my emulator to work. Would any of you be interested?
