  1. Since there's like four 3rd Party companies that gotten a single character in the Super Smash Bros. series and since Konami, Sega, Capcom, and Square Enix gotten a second series reps in Ultimate. I definitely know alot of people wanted a second Bandai Namco character as a second Namco franchise rep fighter in Ultimate, I also think Atlus, SNK, and Microsoft should get a second franchise rep fighter in Ultimate as well. This topic has to be focus on only character picks from Bandai Namco, Atlus, SNK, and Microsoft franchises and it has to be video game originated characters only. My guess from the the four of them has to be: Llyod Irving (Bandai Namco) from Tales of Series One of the Etrian Odyssey main characters (Atlus) from Etrian Odyssey series or Alto from Stella Glow (Atlus) Simea (SNK) from Crystalis - I think Simea would work since I don't think Ryo, Athena, nor Ralf Jones would get in since they're already in the King of Fighters Stadium and Haohmaru was already added as a Spirit for Terry Bogard's Spirit Board along with the Samurai Showdown music track were added as well and I don't think Marco would get in since the Metal Slug music tracks were already used in the music collection for Fatal Fury series. Rash (Microsoft) from Battle Toads series - Maybe have Zitz and Pimple as alts similar to like how Eleven from Dragon Quest series has with Arusu, Solo, and Eight as an alt. What are your four picks do you think they should get in as a Fighter for Ultimate. Edit: Oct. 1st Challenger Pack 7 Trailer reveals Steve from Minecraft just joined as a second Microsoft franchise rep.
  2. To commemorate the imminent release of TMSFE, let's do a round of which SMT/Persona (or Radiant Historia/Odin Sphere, if you so desire) character should have which FE character as their mirage. (I'm not sure whether this thread should be here or in a FE-specific thread, but anyway.) For the purpose of this excercise, the Atlus characters can have multiple mirages as their personas. My round: Persona 4: Yu: Male Robin Yosuke: not quite sure...Gatrie or Inigo maybe? Chie: Leonie/Lyn Yukiko: Lilina/L'Arachel Kanji: Ike, Hector, or Sigurd? Rise: Lalum Naoto: Lute/Soren? Teddie: Fa Nanako: Maria Marie: Idenn Tohru Adachi: Narcian Persona 3 Portable Minako: Female Robin Junpei: Hinata/Caspar Yukari: Lucina/Neimi Fuuka: Florina/ Akihiko: Dieck Mitsuru: Edelgard! Shinjiro: Rutger/Jeritza Ken: Lugh or Chad Aigis: Female Byleth Ikutsuki: Nergal Ryoji: Lyon Persona 5: Akira: Maybe Leif (Thracia 776) Masayoshi Shido: Definitely one of the senators from Radiant Dawn So, what's everyone's take?
  3. I have heard about the original Catherine game several years ago when it first came out. But it was only recently when Catherine started arousing my interests (so many puns intended), thanks to SuperButterBuns. However, the notorious difficulty being rumored by the commentators scared me away from the game. That is, until we started getting updates about Catherine: Full Body. Over in the Japanese website and others, information about the games have been coming in, with a new and friendlier difficulty setting, a new character called Rin, and even a planned DLC of sets of voices from 10 different VAs that I could assign to Catherine (the succubus), other than Miyuki Sawashiro (of Awakening-Female!Robin/Morgan fame). Yukiko (Persona 4) being my waifu, I was estatic to see her VA being cast as one of the options. (Other VAs include Chie (P4), Fuuka (P3), and Futaba (P5) so far. Great, now my Shadow Yu can romance Shadow Yukiko. American, European, and Oceanian release dates are undecided as of yet, while the Japanese release is on Valentines Day next year, for PS4 and PS Vita. So who is looking forward to this one?
  4. Surprised no one made a topic about this yet but after a year of silence from Atlus they finally announced Persona Q2 yesterday and it's titled Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth. Personally this is a game that I have been waiting to hear to about even though it is pretty much what most expected it to be. The casts of P3, P4 and P5 (sorry P1 and P2 fans) team up to assist the game's OC girl out with whatever problem she will have. Seems like the aesthetics will be based around a movie theater I guess or maybe a theater for a play. Plot will probably be nothing to write home about but I still think it will be interesting to see the P5 cast interact with the older cast of characters since one part of the trailer makes it out to seem like the Phantom Thieves and the IT (Investigation Team/P4's cast) will be in conflict against each other for at least presumedly the early portion of the story. Hoping for more interactions between the different set of casts like Kanji and Ken did from PQ1 but I can already see some sillier ones like Teddie and Morgana arguing with other over who the better mascot, Yosuke/Junpei fawning over Ann and maybe Ryuji will become Akihiko's new training partner this time. Though what I am really interested in is that they actually decided to add the female protagonist from P3P to the game and I wonder what her role in this will be. Will they have the both Persona 3 protagonists interacting with each other or is it that you just decide the P3 protagonist's gender at the beginning of the game since I could see it going either way. And assuming the game is dubbed I wonder who will voice her now (and Rise for that matter) since I don't think Laura Bailey will be back to voice her. Alexis Tipton maybe? Anyways, game releases on November 29, 2018 in Japan and will probably be released outside Japan sometime in 2019. Feel free to discuss more about this.
  5. Special rule: References to Atlus games are allowed as long as the main focus is with TSMFE. 1. Maiko-san, we get that you are quite a looker in your swimsuits, but please tone "it" down. Touma-san and Kiria-san don't care about it, Risette and Kanamin don't really want to know about it, and especially Mamori-chan and Nanako-chan should not be exposed to it. 2. Barry, you need to stop talking about Iroha all the time. (If anything, wasn't your grandfather the King of Swing? What about him? Can you tell me more about that?) 3. Tsubasa-chan, don't forget your maths exam! 4. Everyone, and particularly Tsubasa-chan and Itsuki-kun, don't forget! You have lives as like many others. Your idol life is just one if many facets of your lives. Don't feel that you'll have to shoulder this burden and expectations on your own, because you're not alone! (Touma-kun has been there before, and so were Kiria-san and Maiko-san. Heck, I can introduce you to Yu-kun, Risechi, and the Kanamin Kitchen if you are really desparate for more sympathetic ears.) 5. Due to recent incidents of stress-induced hiatuses including one by Rise Kujikawa, everyone is to leave work at 7pm at the latest. This will be strictly enforced; you are not allowed to take home any work, and all future schedulling is to reflect this rule. This particularly goes for underage staff including Mamori, Tsubasa and Itsuki, as they have schoolwork to do.
  6. http://www.aniplex.co.jp/p5a/ Video trailer once you enter the site is apparently exclusive to Japan, so don't be surprised when it doesn't play. From the same studio who did the Persona 5: The Day Breakers, Persona 4: The Golden Animation, and the last 3 Persona 3 movies. Thoughts?
  7. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2016-12-23/atlus-reveals-project-re-fantasy-a-fool-journey-begins-fantasy-rpg/.110277 Atlus has revealed a Fantasy RPG they will be working on, it looks visually stunning, just the art style and the visuals alone scream Tactics Ogre and such And they got praise from two of my favorite companies so this is pretty neat. I always like seeing what Atlus can do, so I'm stoked and will continue to pay attention to this. I don't have too much to say other than I hope we get a really nice game out of this, considering how much I like the art and such already.
  8. Hi there! Welcome to the Serenes Forest Guild Card/Grimoire Trading Post for Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight! Here you may post your Guild Cards and socialize with other guilds. You can also try to request certain grimoires or just have friendly discussions with other players. If you want to upload your Guild Card, you can do so by uploading its file to imgur, which is the method that I think works best. If you don't know how to share your Guild Card, you can go to Regina's café, then select "Guild House", then "Manage Guild Cards", then select your card and press X. You should see an option that says "Output QR Code", select that. Congratulations! Now your Guild Card is stored in your SD card! If you don't know how to scan a Guild Card, go to Regina's café, select "Guild House", then "Data Settings", and finally "Read QR Code". I'll start by uploading my low-level Story Mode party, but Classic may be uploaded as well: (Link to GC) i.imgur.com/YbfTDOr.png Also, if the people demand it, I may create a Trading Post for EOU: The Millennium Girl. Good trading everyone! And please never forget your warp ropes(Ariadne Threads).
  9. Based on last Monty's nintendo direct, we can see that intelligent systems is making a new fire emblem game. Atlus is making Citizens of Earth aka Earthbound with politics. How will they have time to make THIS game?
  10. Since we need a thread for this, this is for all your Persona needs. Discuss to your hearts' content anything related to Persona here, whether it be the mainline games, Arena, Q, or even that dancing spinoff... I guess. Burn your dread. Face yourself. Come on in. Upcoming Titles: Persona 4 Arena: The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold - Fall 2014 Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth - Fall 2014 Persona 5 - 2015 Persona 4: Dancing All Night - 2015 (like you care doe)
  11. So it appears we have yet another Shining Force debacle heading our way for the Megaten series. Only this time a third party is responsible. A Russian sketch actress who's name I don't care to know has been making copyright claims to Persona and SMT videos and having them removed and accounts banned, from Slayer0 to StrawberryCreme26 (AKA where the Hiidaisy dub videos are) Presumably because she is involved with a Russian website called "Persona Stars". The situation is much better explained here: http://www.vg247.com/2013/09/09/persona-videos-being-taken-off-youtube-by-russian-sketch-actress/ http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=672653 If it's any consultation Altus are trying to resolve the issue and the perpetrator's account has been closed. Also my reaction to this debacle.
  12. So Dragon's Crown came out today for the PS3. It is a 2D side scrolling beat-em-up style game. It looks amazing and I cant wait to play it. It came with a sweet artbook as a pre-order bonus that honestly puts that crap that Awakening had for a pre-order bonus to shame. It's over 60 pages and it's like full size. Im really impressed. Anyone else got it?
  13. Okay, so, I toyed with the idea in the main SMT4 thread started by Samias, and after a few days of deliberation, I decided to go ahead and go through with it. So here goes, I'll be walking you through my take on how I play SMT4. First things first, let me explain what happens on a NG+. The things that carry over to a new game are the following: Your Demon Compendium Burroughs Apps increasing your MC # of skills Burroughs Apps increasing your demons' # of skills The amusing but useless collection of facts recorded in the Playlog area of Burroughs Nothing else Fusion level limit is not lifted, like in many other entries in the franchise, you can still only fuse demons appropriate for your game position (modified by any Burroughs apps you can purchase). A few note about hard mode: Run % from battles is locked to 0% (as far as my experiences indicate) If you do not get a pre-emptive strike, 90% of the time (pulling numbers out of my ass, but ones that seem to support my experiences), the enemy will get a pre-emptive against you. Enemies will attempt to strike weaknesses a lot more, meaning your team can be wiped or near wiped before you even get a chance to act, especially early game when you are limited in demon variety and resistances That said, a 2nd cycle will still be a lot more tactically manageable. Why? Presumably on your first run, you collected a wide variety of demons in your compendium, which means that you will have a full log of their weaknesses, and possible fusion paths, and can effectively plan counters to bosses before you meet them for the first time, have to experiment, revise, grind, etc. This will help considerably, IMO. That said, let's get the first major sections wrapped up and reported on here: The Tutorial is somewhat rough, as enemies hit harder, and like I mentioned abuse weaknesses. If you don't save after every encounter, you are going to fail a negotiation at some point, and get wiped on the enemy phase. It will happen, I guarantee it. The first main quest after the tutorial segment are to complete the 3 quests from K's Tavern. 2 of these are gathering quests, and easy peasy. Defeating Orthrus will rock your world for two reasons. Fire Breath, and Bouncing Claw. At this stage in the game you cannot survive multi-hit attacks, as if your dudes have somehow become sturdy enough to avoid OHKO's they'll surely be 2HKO. When you lose demons, you lose press turns, and things spiral out of control in a very bad way, very fast. Oh, and in case you forgot, your starting armor has a fire weakness. Joy of joys. You have to spend most of your hard-earned Macca in getting Mikado Sand. My counter Orthrus strategy was the following: Fuse myself a Peri (with Ice Resist as a bonus, to cover her weakness and extend her longevity). This is accomplished by utilizing a fully trained Napaea with a Lham Dearg (also fully trained, because that's how I roll, it is kind of an OCD flaw of mine). This will provide heals, and Fire Null, which will be important. Next, I fuse myself a Melchom with a variety of useful attacks, and importantly, his Fire Repel. You could just catch one, but that will be far inferior in my opinion, as with only Agi, his utility will suffer greatly. My prefered fusion path for Melchom was a little convoluted, but IMO very worth it. First you fuse a Centaur and a Mokoi into an Angel. This provides important Bufu, Zio, Dia and Rakukaja skills. Then you fuse a Centaur and a Griffon into a Heqet, which will not providing much new in the way of skills, is a necessary prerequisite to fuse a Heqet with a Mokoi to get a Dwarf. Dwarf gives you Tarukaja, but more importantly will let you fuse with Angel to get the Melchom to begin with. Finally, I had planned on fusing myself a Fomorian and training it up to get Fire Resist, but it was taking too long, so I put that on hold. However, I still did acquire the ingredients, a Tangata Manu (which will give Sukukaja), and a Strigoii (made from fusing a Centaur and a Lham Dearg, again for Bufu access). I forgot how long it took for Strigoii to learn Light Resist, but it's a damn long time, and it may not be worth learning for passing on, in the long run, so I should have just aborted. But still, even grinding up the Fomorian for a Resist would have taken more time than needed. What I ultimately used in the team was a caught and trained Chagrin, for its Rakunda, to help take the beast down a little quicker. At the time of beating Orthrus, my stats were as follows: Fighting Party MC Lv 9: ( 7/18/16/20/14 ) (Agi+1/Bufu+6/Bouncing Claw+1/Zan+1/Zio+6/Dream Fist+3/Dia+3/Dream Needle+2) [samurai Sword:Samurai Hat/Mikado Sand Top/Samurai Bottom/Samurai Earring) Pele Lv 8: (Agi/Posumdi/Dream Needle/Resist Ice/Critical Wave/Scratch Dance/Dia/Healing Knowhow) Melchom Lv 7: (Life Bonus/Tarukaja/Rakukaja/Bufu/Agi/Zio/Dia/Posumdi) Chagrin Lv 8: Needle Shot/Zio/Rakunda Reserves: Strigoii Lv 8 Slime Lv 6 Tangata Manu Lv 5 Dybbuk Lv 5 This is still a fight where you're more than likely to lose up to half of your demons, without a little bit of lady luck smiling on you, unless I just suck at strategizing. Still, a Smirk here, or a Miss there, and somehow it is possible to make it out fully intact too. The next questline is the Missing Navarre string, and luckily enough, all of our current demons will still serve us well. Our first encounter with a hooded man will face us against 3 Naga. Weak to Fire, we can melt them with triple Agi. Our second encounter with a hooded man first faces us against a Wendigo, Weak to Fire. Then a swarm of Wendigo/Naga, curiously enough weak to Lightning. This is a little more dangerous to keep Melchom in, but you can still risk it. Finally, in the domain, we face off against Alraune, Weak to Fire. Her gun attack will pretty much OHKO anyone, but you do have guests so maybe you're lucky and she'll target them. Alternately, you could fuse up the lv 9 Drake Zhu Tun She using your Chagrin and Dyubbuk (which was made by using Fuxi and Myrmecolion), but that doesn't really grant many new skills, so I held off on it. In hindsight it would have been a really great idea, nulling both Gun AND Ice, making it pretty much an ideal demon for the questline... Live and learn, I guess. At the time of beating Alraune, my stats were as follows: Fighting Party MC Lv 11: ( 7/21/18/23/16 ) (Agi+1/Bufu+6/Bouncing Claw+1/Zan+1/Zio+6/Dream Fist+3/Dia+4/Dream Needle+2) [samurai Sword:Samurai Hat/Mikado Sand Top/Samurai Bottom/Samurai Earring) Pele Lv 9: (Agi/Posumdi/Dream Needle/Resist Ice/Critical Wave/Scratch Dance/Dia/Healing Knowhow) Melchom Lv 8: (Life Bonus/Tarukaja/Rakukaja/Bufu/Agi/Zio/Dia/Posumdi) Strigoii Lv 10: (Life Drain/Mudo/Bufu/Critical Wave/Gram Slice/Needle Shot) Reserves: Chagrin Lv 9: Needle Shot/Zio/Rakunda Bilwis Lv 8 Slime Lv 7 Tangata Manu Lv 6 Dybbuk Lv 7 I have yet to spend any of my App Points, because lazy and unsure, but I think I'm about to go on a spree imminently. I will keep you posted on that situation as it develops. Anyway, that's about as far as I've gotten, as I'm going at a much more relaxed pace this time around. Feel free to comment and questions, but as I'm doing my best to keep spoilers to a minimum, and to focus on the gameplay aspects (especially what I love most, fusing demons), I would ask that you too try to refrain from anything spoilery.
