Elieson
True. But considering you deal with less MAG-dependent enemies for the first 2/3 of the game, it's a trade-off that you need to think about carefully. @bunny Guy's palette is awesome what are you talking about fucking Plasma Armor and a 10 range Lightsaber I'd
TheMoniker
Wait, are you using the newest patch? A ton of characters seem to have shitty ugly palettes, like guy and Lowen. I know I gave Lowen a new palette too. Guy, I'm not so sure. Edit: I'm PRETTY sure I gave Erk a new palette as well! Wtf! Hey, calm down, I recorded this before the new patch came up. I said at the bottom I'd talk about the "new update" in the next prelude. So yeah, you didn't miserably fail to apply everything. I just wasn't using the new patch yet. Klokinator
Uh... Klok, aside from the 1-2 range, there isn't even a comparison here. ...I'll buff Iron Blade to 90 hitrate.
TheMoniker
...I'll buff Iron Blade to 90 hitrate. Yeah, you can use the iron blade without being horribly weighed down, but is that really worth losing 8 MT and a bunch of crit? Gaining some hit would make it much more worth it. So, hello everyone once again, and welcome to... The CHAPTER 15 PRELUDE! And now, we'll see how long we can keep it for. Right, normal FE7 army wouldn't use THOSE weapons. I show this because Heath is a wyvern here, even though he is decidedly not a wyvern in game. Maybe Klok doesn't want to spoil the player? Our team. We're leaving three dudes out, and the slots are full. ...You know, there's something I'm kind of concerned about. You guys have a whole bunch of characters we want to use, some of which we'll get next chapter(florina, lyn, wil), and I'm starting to wonder if we'll have enough slots to bring in all these dudes. I'll drop Oswin the minute I no longer have room for him, but I may need to, in the future: *Ignore the request to use Kent What request? *Not use the future Eliwood Lord *Go without a dark mage(or at least not use the s-man, because of the OTHER dark mage, which apparently is now canon-altering). Really, it all depends on how many slots the future chapters have. I might be able to swap out 1 or 2 units occasionally, but if the game makes us stick with 12 slots for a very long time, THERE WILL BE CUTBACKS ON THE UNIT BUDGET. Off that note, I do some weapon rearranging, and give you all a chance to look at Guy's great weapon ranks. I want him to A EVERYTHING. And maybe S bows? Can he use sacred stuff? Here's our setup. Let's look at the enemies! Here is a-oh wait, that's not right! MUCH better! Yes, Klok recently updated to the V1.25 patch, which adds: 1: A tiny bit of XP gain for Eliwood and other mages(thank you, Klok!) 2: Changes to statboosters, which Klok has already described in another post. 3: Huge changes to chapters we haven't played yet(hey, being the LP that got a late start has its advantages!) 4: Actual palettes(except for Priscilla's promotion although I wouldn't know I guess we'll see) So yeah, pretty big update. ANYWAYS. The fighter. Six speed. He's right here. if we play our cards right we can get it off him first turn. Here's our boss. He's nothing special, stat-wise, but he's a bit more dangerous than the regular mooks. We want to kill him for the goody. Also, is that a new weapon? Heh heh. This ones really good for a laugh the first time you see it. And maybe the second or third. Aside from that, it isn't too heavy and has some good MT. Also, this is his range. We need to skirt around it, as I think killing him early stops the reinforcements, and we want all that valuable XP. Hey, red gem nomad! And he's well armed... 8 speed. Bartre can still steal from him, although if it gets much faster than this, we're in trouble. And he's accompanying the boss. Not sure if I'll be able to get his gem. I guess we'll just have to see. I do consider lockpicks on thieves to be noteworthy stealables, especially in the earlygame. ANNNNDDD Bartre isn't stealing it. 12 speed is way too high. The thief is over here. Won't be hard to intercept him on the way to the treasure room. The boss's other nomad escort has this THING. Yeah, it's dangerous. Also, that -- range is actually 3. FE just doesn't know how to properly display it. And that should be everyon- hey, who's that hanging out in the corner? OOOOOHHHH! Yeah, if we can kill this knight, we get a 1-use warp! I think as a staff it's really high-rank, so there's no way Marcus can use it now, but down the line... These stats don't seem very intimidating(especially since our knight is a whole lot better than this guy, but I'm fairly certain this knight is just here to introduce the concept of Extra! units to the player. Not sure about that con, though... Too late, buddy. Already done for you. There are so many bad jokes that can be made with chaos Gee Oswin, that's a GREAT idea! Yeah, as the amount of stealables increases, these preludes will probably take longer and longer.

TheMoniker
Iron Blade is the only 1 range sword until the Silver Sword at the end of chapter 17/Lancereaver at the end of 17x. Crazy shizness Except for the mani katti, which is what it was being compared to. And really, in earlygame, you don't have many people relying solely on iron swords, just Bartre and sir crutch oswin. pst i added this image to the op of the main topic Yay Hello everyone, and welcome back to... FE7 CHAOS MODE: EPISODE 6: Chapter 15: Oswin was right! Let's just pick up right back where we left off, in a castle with a team of doomed dudes in it. Compared to the last chapter, the enemy forces are positively tiny. Just imagine Guy going "SAY IT! SAY I'M THE BETTER ARMOR!" Not even complicated. Priscilla gets her first kill for the chapter. However, I have to redo this turn a few times, so it doesn't stick. So, here's our initial setup. Some dudes go to the left and down and tank out that wave of knight and soldiers(you might be tempted to try and kill all three on the first turn. Don't. You'll overextend your forces to attack them, and you probably can't kill them all.). Eliwood tanks the mage on the right. Guy tanks the bottom wave of enemies. It ultimately ends up changing because I put Erk in the boss's range. I can't afford to lure him out early, even though Erk actually lived, so... And Bartre starts dying too. He doesn't actually become a tank until you get him levels, which I haven't done. Hector chips the fighter and gets this good level. Of course, with some of our other units, his defense and HP aren't super impressive anymore. That res is a really good investment now. ' Anyways, here's the REAL first turn setup. The Extra! doesn't move, so we don't have to worry about him. HOW DARE YOU HAVE +20 CRIT ELIWOOD WILL SHOW YOU Eliwood, as a level 9 mage, gains 20 exp for killing a level 3 mage. To be honest, any extra xp Klok gave him isn't super-noticeable. The level is noticeable, though! Tink! Bottom archers: Handled. GUY. YOU NEED RES. WE NEED GOOD MAGIC TANKS. Start of turn 2, here's our situation. A fighter reinforcement came from the top, and the merc opened the door. It's kind of a pity really, one of the few times you have doors protecting you and the enemy is always in a perfect position to pop them right open. Also, that nomad at the top has the red gem. I think if I'm careful I can snag it... Down here, sir brave bow advances with his friend crit mage. This LOOKS perfect... Hector loses his steel. This guy dies just by Eliwood stepping forward. We're looking pretty good here. MY calculations said she'd live. But then I noticed an unaccounted variable, "b". When I put it into the equation...okay, I can't finish that joke. Stupid BRAVE bows! Totally didn't RNG abuse or anything. Nope. Come on! This castle is ours! Send all the fighters you want, we'll just kill them! Also, a merc and myrm came from the bottom. I check the reinforcements, and find us a new weapon description! No new description, but I doubt even Guy could resist 30 MT. NOW YOU NEED SPEED. Mine! Only one problem...there's no way Bartre can get to the treasure room on time. So now I have to use rescuedrop transit. The nomad and fighter are actually kind of cleverly placed, if Klok intended things that way. It takes three different types of rider units, But Bartre gets right where he needs to be, with an entire turn to spare. Serra doesn't double these fighters. She one-shots them instead. You don't know what you're getting into, myrms. And now cav mooks come to flood our castle. This armor is wimpy, but his silver sword improves his chances. Eliwood is in no mood to dilly-dally. It's A-rank, so it'll be a while before we use it. But WHEN WE DO... OH COME ON! Someone other than guy gets a level for handling the bottom front. It's not AMAZING, but... First treasure! Remember, the silver axe has an amazing 17 MT! Priscilla gets here first level and makes it a good one. ONLY 2 STATS! The cavaliers headed up, so Eliwood will tank them here. Erk WAS going to get this kill...he gets all this skill and doesn't even use it... Defense on a mage. So good. The cavs refuse to stop coming. This turn, I have to lure out the boss to kill him on the last turn. Wooo? Yeah, if you have to pick between the two chests... PERFECT. All according to plan. These bosses stand no chance against Guy. NOW YOU'LL NEVER CAP SKILL(no, this wasn't the boss kill) Lowen weakens(1 range longbows...) And Priscilla swoops in! EXCELLENT use of the horseslayer, huh? Agh! Bosskill levels should always be at least OKAY! Oh well. That helps my mood a little. Unfortunately, I sent up Guy to kill these guys, and one attacked at 1 range. So I couldn't COMPLETELY route the chapter, there was 1 enemy left. Phew, we're done! That doesn't sound good.
TheMoniker
What, no comments? Anyways, hello everyone, and welcome to... The CHAPTER 16 PRELUDE! Okay, let's begin. What with their 10 or so soldiers it really isn't a surprise. Oh no, fog! Yeah, the chapter title wasn't lying. Okay, so, this cutscene is weird, for more than one reason, in addition to there being fog, a new map palette, and class changes(thats Kent flying, not Florina). Some portions of the fog that CLEARLY SHOULDN'T BE revealed are revealed! And the worst part is the shown enemy positions are incorrect! For instance, that Magic Seal isn't sticking around(fortunately). And those who know about this maps Extra! should be able to spot that too... Yeah, I don't really get it. Any explanations, Klok? Did you try to do something with this then abandon it halfway through? Okay, moving on. Here's our team for this chapter, same as last one. I do some inventory rearrangement, which involves us gaining wealth. Yeah, this is the best I can do for visibility. No way I can show the stealables right now. I'll have Bartre spam the torch I gave him and I'll try to catch as many as I can, but no promises. Also, those merc positions actually are correct. That cutscene was REALLY weird. After starting, let's scroll straight to these guys! STATDUMP TIME! Sain is now a dar-I mean, Heretic! Klok renamed the class, although there are no other changes. No, we're not using him, to save room for another dark mage later... Hey, new tomes! Being 1 range in a hack like this kinda drags dark mages down(as they won't get ready access to better stuff for a while), but they do at least hit hard, like their class is supposed to. Nosferatu is still really strong, if you can hit with it. Hey, it's Kent! Those stats look okay... Except for the HP... He also brings Lowen a gift. I'll wait until I see his growths to pass judgement. Our required-use Lord! Being a Corsair, she still retains lyn-lord class stats, with high base skill and speed but little base strength. Well, we finally have a dedicated axe user, at least. Yeah, she does have above-average luck. And she brings us some more wealth! Here's Wil, a custom class...later at least. He's pretty weak now... ...But promised a better future! Don't know if I showed this yet. It's a very good generic lance. Over here, we have a fifth newcomer... A lady horse girl! I've received requests, so we're going to be using her. Also, she brings us the amazing crit bow! Anyways, on to growths... LYN'S GROWTHS: HP: 80%(+10%) Strength: 40% Skill: 70%(+10%) Speed: 70%(+10%) Defense: 15%(-5%) Resistance: 60%(+30%) Looking pretty good, Lyn! Yeah, she's basically going to be a speedy axe user if you train her. Her only problem is a lack of strength, which is bad for a berserker, as their class has trouble without it...better hope we get lucky with that growth! FLORINA'S GROWTHS: HP: 70%(+10%) Strength: 40% Skill: 60%(+10%) Speed: 65%(+10%) Defense: 15% Resistance: 45%(+10%) Wait wait wait...HEY! Doing a side-by-side comparison with Lyn's growths...Florina is the exact same, only worse! I guess she has mounted utility and a different weapon, but she has way less CON than Lyn! I'm starting to have second thoughts on using her... SAIN'S GROWTHS: HP: 80% Strength: 65%(+5%) Skill: 55%(+20%) Speed: 55(+15%) Defense: 55%(+35%) Resistance: 30%(+10%) This guy makes a pretty good dark mage, due to all that tankiness and power. I won't be using him, though. There isn't much more to say. KENT'S GROWTHS: HP: 85% Strength: 40% Skill: 60%(+10%) Speed: 55%(+10%) Defense: 25% Resistance: 25% Oooooh, those aren't good growths for a peg. They look like normal FE7 growths, except in Chaos Mode those don't really cut it. He's too fragile, doesn't even have RES! WIL'S GROWTHS: HP: 85%(+10%) Strength: 60%(+10%) Skill: 70%(+20%) Speed: 65%(+25%) Defense: 45%(+25%) Resistance: 10%(-15%) Hmmmm...He's pretty average in everything but res, which will be his one flaw. Of course, his special promoted class, which I want to show off, more than makes up for it. Growths edited in! Please check them out. Klokinator
Wait wait wait...HEY! Doing a side-by-side comparison with Lyn's growths...Florina is the exact same, only worse! I guess she has mounted utility and a different weapon, but she has way less CON than Lyn! I'm starting to have second thoughts on using her... TheMoniker
Huh. /makesanote Can't believe you'd call the god unit, Wil, "average". 30 SKL/SPD and 25ish STRis far from meh. Yeah, I didn't give the guy another credit. It's not like he's terrible to start, and his performance is almost always good. No comment on the cutscene, though? Hello everyone, and welcome back to... FE7 CHAOS MODE: EPISODE 7: CHAPTER 16: Part 1: The black fog of nondoom: Bartre starts by using the torch. It reveals...actually a lot. Stealable torch! Six speed! And while I could, I'm not gonna nab it. Lockpick! 12 speed, too fast to steal...man, I can't wait for 2 chapters from now... Oh hey, another Extra! Every one from here is promoted, and this one is still pretty weak compared to what we will face in the future. I still don't get what it is with these guys and con, though... He only has a talisman. Don't expect every extra to have an uberweapon! And here's the silver blade. For what's supposed to be one of the most powerful, expensive non-legendaries, it's kind of lackluster. We're gonna move forward slowly again this chapter. Kent starts us by buying 5 steel sword. Do you think I should've got more? So yeah, lyn and Wil are gonna move forward very slowly. Guy tanks out one of the initial enemies and gets a bad level. Ah! Shots from the dark! Yeah, expect lots of siege stuff against these guys. Kent has a delphi shield, and none of it is too bad, but its still annoying. This is just the start...we have very hit or miss levels this chapter, except without much hitting. Steel sword too! We then scroll over to see Sain's excellent palette! This thief goes distressingly close to the village(and yes, it's turn 2 now.). Savestate testing doesn't result in its destruction, though. This guy, though, probably will destroy it! Purple Horse Lady gets her first kill. We've repelled much of the initial assault, at least. Wil "handles" this peg. And gets 50 XP for it! Yeah, he has increased XP gain, just like Guy! Lyn kills another peg. Here's her palette. Such perfect... Hopefully he'll survive. Oswin is becoming less and less of an asset, really. He ekes out enough XP to get a level, and its not a good one. Iron swords are so horribly inaccurate. Oh man, the bandits changed course! They're heading for this village now! Meanwhile, cavaliers start to charge us from the top. One of them even has a silver sword. In fact, just about all the cavs from the top are packing some special weapon type. Florina handles the dangerous bandit. Kent sells the blue gem, adding to our pile. Florina NEEDS to do some bow twirls at the start, or she's gonna have trouble killing enemies. OW! Stupid ballista! Such relief. A cav charges out, swinging a new weapon! Lowen doesn't kill him, so let's check it! So, Iron Sword V2? Yeah, the blade trio doesn't have anything special about it, really. Marcus could be promoted, but I'm not wasting a valuable ring on him. I'll waste it on Eliwood instead. This extra actually loses in a straight fight against Guy. I start things off... Uh, no animation? Another bad guy level. Come on Erk, you can't get bad levels AND bad luck! This isn't amazing, but defense is nice. Here's the end of this turn. Kent grabs Sain and hangs out down here, hopefully away from siege range. Wil's pretty good, especially against pathetic iron blades. AGGHHHH DOUBLING NO N-Oh wait. Wow. I actually have to give Bartre some credit here. Good job, Bartre. MORE bandits, trying to kill poor Kent! Up here, a large onslaught of enemies has appeared... AND THEN STEEL SWORD GUY HAS A GODDESS ICON! WHAT A CLIFFHANGER! Yeah, I gotta cut it off here. This update in total has over 130 images, so... Yeah, this was a really long one, so I had to split it. Klokinator
Bartre starts by using the torch. >has a thief use a torch >scrub Lyn kills another peg. Here's her palette. TheMoniker
Wow jesus christ, really? That's unexpected O_O Yeah, Guy's just that good. Hello everyone, and welcome back to... FE7 CHAOS MODE: EPISODE 7: PART 2: CHAPTER 16: The bad level train Last time, I forgot to give the speed of the goddess icon cav. It's 7. Guy continues his assault on the hero. Perfect! We can give the kill to anyone we want! The problem with this guy isn't damaging him, it's hitting him. This will become a theme with future extras. Serra succeeds, but doesn't even get a level from the endeavor. She does get a talisman though. I FINALLY remember to have Oswin visit this village. Fog of wealth, indeed. And this is only the start... Kent, having been cornered by the bandit, decides to flee desperately. Wil gets his first level, and shows us why he becomes such a good unit. Meanwhile, I'm trying to have my units assault the wave of enemies shown at the end of the last update. I'm having some difficulties. Ultimately, I just restart the turn. The Extra! kill and Wil's level I manage to keep the same, but this time I hold back my units instead of charging them. That's really the trick to this chapter. The silver sword cav FINALLY goes down. A silver sword can make anyone dangerous...and if memory serves, we may just get one of our own soon. Steel swords are so inaccurate. And yet, Lyn still gets hit. Kent picks up some supplies, but it turns out that it will just weigh down his escape attempt. OR WILL IT? The heavy spear is a just okay weapon, being not that heavy anymore(especially in comparison to certain other weapons). It's crit is good, though. I wonder what Serra's political stance is(REALLY OBSCURE/BAD JOKE) Lowen, tankiness isn't everything. Especially since you'll have a hard time being useful in endgame, what with being a wyvern and all(WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? YOU WILL FIND OUT, BUT NOT SOON!). Florina NEEDS crits to kill stuff. Florina needs to use the old trade trick, as she will be killed due to the weighing down caused by the short bow. Hector can still facetank every now and then. We find ballista guy, but of course hes out of ammo. I have to be very careful around the archer, as he has a steel bow. Lowen is capable of strategy. Eliwood CAN support Hector, I just don't actually want him to. Lyn doesn't get a good start. Hey! Our first 0% hit chance! Woo! One last torch... I see all! ...and now I see that I have to pick him up as he's in a bad spot. Also, remember "Fog of Wealth"? Speedwings... Speed 6. But that's just small fish compared to... OUR FIRST PROMOTION ITEM! Guess who's getting it. GUESS. 6 speed. Bauker is nothing special. pretty tough, but no more so than Boies from the very beginning, really. He has 5 speed Which is important because of this! Another promotion item! I have to explain something here. Lord promotions work different in chaos mode. First off, Lyn, Eliwood, and Hector promote normally with normal items, because of their lack of lord classes. But what about those with Lord classes? You don't want to make them wait for heaven seals! In an inflation hack like this they'll quickly fall behind! So, the not-lord lords can promote with earth seals! Which is why we need all of these we can get. This guy senses a kill, and then I get an idea. It's leaving Florina at 2 HP forever just to distract steel sword guy. I hear horses back here! Just like in FE7, a cav army will charge you from the back. Wil is one of the few who really walked away from this chapter with a clean level record. First one! As predicted, the cavs have caught up with us. One group holds them off, the other presses towards the gate. Agghh! Oh well, it could have been worse! Strategy forces me to let Kent chip. And I gotta say...that palette is just OUCH. All the other palettes just looked weird, but this one is just HORRIFIC. Klok, did you forget this guy? Lyn, you NEED more than this if you want to be good! -Serra misses -Enemy hits ->:C At least it was something other than HP...but yeah, Guy has decided to coast on his initial good level streak, apparently. Which is ironic because it happened right when I decided to stop pretending he was a bad unit. Merlinus can rescue now, and he's a very good rescuedropper. LIFTED. All we have left is steel sword noob and the boss. This is a bad thing when it's the best level the guy's gotten so far. Erk, you need to improve. Now we can FINALLY kill this guy! He's been trying to hit us this entire chapter, and only once has he ever been anything more than a delay! Okay Wil. Focus on the other side a bit now. Gah! The units that NEED good levels are getting bad ones, and vice versa! A cav runs out of the darkness and attacks Lowen. He panics and overreacts. Okay Lyn. The victory music is playing! We're nearly there! We start by mugging the guy. I deliberate on it, but ultimately take the easy way out and give the kill to Guy, trying to ready him for promotion with it. He doesn't even get a full level for it. I guess sheer volume of levels is mitigating his exp boost... Maybe I'll bench him for a bit next chapter? I'm eager to be finished, but I control myself in order to pursue my headcanon ships. *obligatory hypocrisy comment* Finally, after over 130 images this chapter is done! Well, that wasn't easy. The next one won't be easy either, naturally. In fact, we have little easiness from here on out. Remember guys, you decide who I use and who I drop. I'm at your beck and call, unless you ask me to use Kent.

Xtremekiwi
Honestly, I didn't have much trouble with chapter 17. Aside from the initial rush (+Silver Sword Asshole) it was pretty smooth. Even managing to stop both thieves (One of them looted the silver sword, got it back). Though this is more because of this: ...than anything else. To compensate though, I failed to murder the Extra in Fog of Wealth. Oh well, it's only a talisman, I can live without that. (note: unit 1-2 levels higher then he was in Ch 17 because pic is taken in 17x). Also, Klok, if you're reading this, quick question: What is the reward for saving exactly 2 of the generics in Ch 17? From what you said, rescuing all 3 gets you a mine, I rescued exactly one and got a Delphi Shield. What do you get for 2 survivors?

I don't know if it's better then the Delphi shield, but I'll stick with the latter. . Thanks for the info. I'll have to include this. You saved me the effort of savestate-testing! Hello everyone, and welcome to... The CHAPTER 17 PRELUDE! I also would like to say that I did update for this episode, because I wanna see Hector's cool new red palette. Caelin castle was always just sort of a straight windy line to the boss with side-rooms. I never got why taking a chair made you insta-win. Probably because it implied you killed the boss and the enemy forces all had to flee. Only 10 slots? Well, I did say I might bench Guy for a bit here. My other units need some time to shine! And it looks like Oswin is gone for good now. But I also want Lyn out... I do some inventory arrangement, mostly putting loot in the convoy, but I also give a Lowen a REAL weapon. I planned to have Kent buy a bunch of stuff last chapter, but then I forgot. Luckily, enough stuff is coming our way, so we're not short...right now. I also give everyone who can carry one a steel sword. I ultimately decide to bench Eliwood and take Lyn instead. That's enough for our setup. Let's look at the enemies. There are actually very few goodies around here. This is the only notable droppable, except for... Ooooh, another one of these guys! And the V1.26 patch fixed "a nomad trooper issue", and this guy is a nomad trooper, so... He's even tougher than the last one. And no Guy this time. He has this. And a silver sword, naturally. Luna is the second siege weapon of the siege triangle. By which I mean, all the siege weapons make a really weird triangle. You'll understand when we see the third. While this could be useful for Sain, we aren't using him, and another dark mage we get later has a Luna for free. We're still killing this guy, though. Bernard here is much worse than the Extra! But he DOES have... Oh Klok...Yeah, the spear at first seems to be the weakest weapon of them all...but here's the thing. There is literally no chance this is a normal spear, because that has 45 uses in this hack, AND a different description(that is to say, the lack of a description). If it has 5 uses, it is the UBERSPEAR. Yes. That's right. We can NOT let Bernard attack us with that. No one, except maybe Guy with an axe, can withstand even one round with it, and he isn't here! Also, this is this chapter's mine incentive. Remember, YOU guys decide when I use my mine(s)! If you want me to snag this... Although, uberkilling 5 enemies really isn't worth giving up some stuff we'll get later. There are a few door keys floating around, but I don't consider them worth stealing. Thieves still come from here, but now we have steel sword to kill them with. If we're quick, they won't even have time to release the archers. Are you SURE? They've had some reclasses of their own! I won't show all their stats, but let's just say they're way better. Also, as someone else pointed out, there are different rewards for saving them now. Three gets you a mine(Remember, Klok INTENDS for you to use them, and they are an "I win" button). Two gets you a blue gem, and one gets you a delphi shield. All the rewards are actually good, so it's really about choosing how many you want to save. We also have Lucius here. No inventory for story purposes. Raven is a mage now! We already have an Eliwood, so...also, he has Lucius's rapier. This will make sense in a weird way later. This is ironic considering its stats in normal FE7, but yeah, Eliwood wants this badly. The rapier is less accurate, critty, and hitty than the mani katti. But it has 2-3 range and less weight! If that doesn't seem like a good trade off, keep in mind that while the mani katti gives +5 luck, the rapier gives +5 defense, which is probably better! Anyways, that's all for now. Now for growths: RAVEN'S GROWTHS: HP: 60%(-25%) Magic: 40%(-15%) Skill: 60%(+20%) Speed: 65%(+20%) Defense: 25% Resistance: 55%(+40%) His growths are okay, but he lacks magical power. He can get fairly speedy, and also tanks magic fairly well, however. His main problem is that he has even less CON than Eliwood, so he'll be weighed down by the hilariously heavy anima tomes even more, despite our new, slightly-less-heavy one. LUCIUS'S GROWTHS: HP: 55% Strength: 60% Skill: 50% Speed: 40% Defense: 10% Resistance: 60% He's gotten absolutely no growth buffs, which is pretty bad. He's still a good unit looking beyond that, but he is made of paper, and doesn't really meet the speed requirements to be a dodgetank. I'd feel obligated to use him because Eliwood Lord, but I've already decided that I actually am not using him this run(unless you guys say otherwise), as I simply don't have much room left. Our team already has 10 permanent additions(the non-permanents being marcus and bartre), and we have about 3-5 more people in the future coming who we may/will use. I can't fit him... unless you guys tell me to drop someone... Yeah, surprisingly, not really that many stealables this time around. I could have sworn I changed this so you get Lucius Rapier from an event. Send me the save file plz?
Xtremekiwi
The thing with the uberspear is that the enemy AI doesn't see the stat boosts. It only sees the damage it can deal, and, given that it has a LISTED 5 Mt, whereas the Steel Bow has more then that, which means that Bernard will almost never switch to the uber-spear. I think the only way he'll do so is if you leave a sword user in his range, when he might switch due to the weapon triangle. (Okay, and excepting Bernard using up all 45 uses of the steel bow, which, let's be honest, isn't happening unless you deliberately try to do that). Also, goddamn pegs on the Dread Isle! They weren't a problem on the pirate ship, why are they a problem now? Probably because Canas , like Bartre, can't dodge a lance to save his life, and I want him to grab the torch (which, for some reason, I lost the first one I got. Probably sold it assuming I won't need it :P)

TheMoniker
Hello everyone, and welcome back to... FE7 CHAOS MODE: Episode 8: Chapter 17: Corridors of chaos mode Well, it seems updating and restarting the chapter removed the extra rapier. Now let's get started for real! Purple horse lady starts off on this myrm. Lowen gets himself a delphi shield, because I forgot to do it in the preparations menu. Our first turn will be spent tanking out the initial wave of archers. Hector's awesome red/black(purple?) palette shows up. Gee Priscilla, I didn't know you could do magic too. Start of the second turn, some enemies have charged in, but we're okay... Marcus gets a level. Serra! The reason I tried that was because of this silver sword mook. I'd like to keep the majority of my guys out of his range for now... Luckily, Florina can kill him at 3 range(look closer...)! Ah, no! That wasn't what I meant to select! Oh well, Hector can still kill the guy. Not helping matters... Lyn finishes instead. Here's her new palette. Really, the turquoise looks kind of weird, but better than that odd black. Second turn, the area immediately around is clear. Agh, I miscalculated! Oh well, she lived. DEAD. Well...it contained one of the most important stats for her... Wil crits so hard the screen glitches out. Turn 3 end, nobody is in range of us, but next turn we need to shove through the chokepoint hallway. After an uneventful EP, this guy appears. Please tell me I can kill him with a steel sword... ONE. TILE. AWAY. Once again! Agh! Next turn... Lockpick(and a killing edge?) 13 speed(it's a stealable! I hope you're getting these, Teq!). Bartre fails a chip with a steel sword, but he was at 99 XP when he started... No, I'm still not using him seriously. I realize that Raven's on his way to us. Luckily, he doesn't have a 3 range tome, or this would be a lot harder. We're just gonna tank it out for now... Next turn: THE POWER OF THE HEAVY SPEAR! I think he critted! SUPER POWER! The door slowed the one thief down enough to be an easy kill, but a new thief shows up! He's completely different from the first one. A steel sword he wouldn't use? And 7 levels weaker(11 speed for the lockpick)? Wil gets another good level. Would appreciate some tankiness, though... I'm pushing through here as fast I can! This is immensely worrying. Yes! JUST BARELY! Treasures=safe! As icing on the cake, Priscilla's in perfect range to convert Raven! Also, sister means pest. Lyn gets an unnecessary critical... But it doesn't detract from her level. She also gets this. I don't really care. Back here, Merlinus struggles to keep up... Hector tanks out hammer man. Uh...I think imgur uploaded this twice? Lowen's gonna cap defense, isn't he? Oh no, these guys are escaping already! I gotta rush over there! Don't you mean... *DRAMATIC PAUSE TO SHOW REINFORCEMENTS* A RAPIER? Fun fact: In the earlier versions of this hack, Lucius would actually get a lightning tome he couldn't use. It was actually pretty funny, not sure why Klok removed it. I CHOOSE TO END HERE, BECAUSE THE UPDATE WAS SO LONG THE FORUMS SAID I POSTED TOO MANY IMAGES BEWARE! Long update ahead! Or at least, the first half of it...
