RandomSwordmaster
Trying to do a run-through of my FE7 hack, whenever it gets to text that i've modded, the game freezes and gives me the screech of death. Does the game have to be on a save that has already completed the game to not go crazy? Or no?
CT075
are you going to show us the text or am i supposed to somehow psychically deduce what you've done wrong
RandomSwordmaster
Well according to google, this is usually caused when I edit text after hacking and expanding the rom....so i'm testing to see if modifying the text THEN inserting maps and events will break it or not. As far as I can tell, the text doesn't seem to be the problem. Edited July 19, 2015 by RandomSwordmaster
CT075
have you tried saving with FEditor before editing text like i've literally been saying this for years, you always have to save with FEditor before you start editing Edited July 19, 2015 by CT075
RandomSwordmaster
I did. This is apparently the one other thing you have to do as well. EDIT: yay, it worked, now my hack can finally be completed. Edited July 19, 2015 by RandomSwordmaster
CT075
no you don't, or you would never be able to continue work on a half-completed ROM, and peopel would have experienced this before (i have never encountered this) if you ever fail to save before you do anything with FEditor, you're already screwed, even if it doesn't show up for days later Edited July 19, 2015 by CT075
RandomSwordmaster
Either way, it seems to work now....I think.
