Ch 9 isn't here yet sorry, but to bump this thread makes you wait a little longer, here are the results of my Valnii training, and we'll check some of our new units. Let's go : Maelduin's promotion is just base stats difference, while I really buffed Entombed's a lot so it could become.... ...barely average. He's slow as hell, and anithing other than Miracle Dog's fangs slows him even more. Decent bulk and great Crit avoid somehow saves him. Joshua just got one level since his promotion. He has great avoid, decent physical bulk and great movement,, but his HP, Res and Str will never really rise. Promoting him immediately gave him S in Axe and A in bows, which is a nice bonus. Warrior has 3 more point of Def and access to Bow (as if Innes will ever use them with this strength). Not enough to be chosen. (He's now Level 2 with Max Def, and +1Spd +1Skill) He know is really an All-Terrain Nice Boat. Dozla is honnestly quite good. He's slow, but with that Con, nearly no weapons will slow hm down (Heavy Spear and Brave Lance.) He has deserved his place on my team. Not the best dancer, but still the prettiest. She got some bad levels, but she's still top tier. Bishop here are so much better than Valkyrie it's not even funny. He didn't have a lot of training yet, but he's gonna spend the rest of his life crushing monsters and let the healing to the others. Tana now... She'll have to wait a little before promoting. ...but when she'll do it, she's gonna be really great. Knoll will use the Ocean Seal next chapter. He got pretty Strength screwed, but Speed is the only important stat for him. And he's reasonably phisically bulky for a thief. He'll be a Rogue. That's why we trained him. Saleh gained a level duing the training. Still my best sword unit, but that may change soon... I spend too many time training her. She's still my strongest attacker. and basically Gonzales with Lances. So, she'll be now known as GonzAmelia. [spoiler=Nothing to see here] Nothing to see there. Her training was completely normal. Druid is really good, but none of my units are able to fully exploit it. He's kinda Magic screwed, but otherwise decent. And he's a king, he doesn't have to attack if his minions can do it for him. Ewan also got some training. He hit like a truck, but a simple paper cut will reduce him to Nothingness. And now, let's take a look at those new units : Hp : 10Str : 140Skill : 25Spd : 5Luck : 5Def : 35Res : 20 Hayden's Servant. Amazing base stats, and amazing Strength growth. My strongest axe user, and second strongest physical attacker so far. I decided to call him : Fantôme As. Fitting, right ? Hp : 25 Str : 30Skill : 50Spd : 35Luck : 60Def : 5Res : 5 Ewan's Phantom. Start a little inferior, but in the long term, he may become overall better. A nice addition to the team nevertheless. He'll be known as Billy Junior. And now, a better look at those we'll recruit next chapter : I have high hope about her honnestly. Tehthys is generally a great unit in all the other FE8 Randoms, and she start at low level with great stats. We'll see with her growth, but I hope she won't disappoint me. Well, I desperately needs a Axe usrer with a decent Strength growth, so if she ends up with at least decent growth, she may end sup with a spot on my team.Come on, Natasha ! Proves me your worth ! Oh, and in case some of you were wondering... Apparently this Tower is the final resting place of the Saint Wall, a Holy Knight wandering the Earth to protect the innocents.Maybe it explain the presence of the Bishops ? Anyway, this probably will ends up irrelevant to us. I'll add a Poll after this post to ask you who should be Syrene's most trusted person. Since I'm sure to have Kyle, Syrene and Tana untill the end, both Tana and Kyle are now fighting for Syrene's attention. Feels free to vote. [spoiler=The Universal Solution] I never really knew what this title refered too. A look at the ennemies.Vigarde is a Sage F (I know that since the prlogue, but didn't realized it was him at the time) We know Caellach is a Berserker, Selena a Rogue, and Valter a Paladin already, so let's see the other. Glen is a Wyvern Knight. Riev a Swordmaster, and Duessel's replacement is a Cyclops. This one is the true Boss of this chapter. The main issue here is that this guy does tons of damage (he one round Dozla !) and takes really few from most of my team. And we need to press on to save those villages from the 8 Move Pirates.So what solution do we have ? What brillant tactics will save us from this direfull situation. ...Same as always, we throw Syrene at the ennemy. This guy can two shot him, while Syren two round him (she doubles him.) ...Yeah, kinda anticlimatic, but this is the only solution here. And then Kyle dances for her so that she can wreck this Pirate. They're a great team. And the others get read of the remaining ennemies, while the Invinvcible Armada (my two Phantoms) serves as decoy. Meanwhile Innes aggro the pirates so they don't attack the village, allowing Marisa to saves it. Syrene guards the village... And gets her usual level, capping Str in the meantime. Some cleansing. Either I'm really lucky or Tethys actually have a decent Str growth. ...I confirm. You must be really in need to works for so little, Binks. I AM AN HELICOPTER ! Advancing... The rest is pretty easy, honnestly. Innes Aggro and get rid of the ennemies staying there. I recruit Natasha with Tana and makes a Phantom Wall against ennemies attack. Phantom Summoning allows Ewan to gain one of his usual levels. I understand why you let others fight for you. Meh. At least she decided to use here Speed boost immediately. Good Job GonzAmelia ! [spoiler=Grown-Ups and Kids] Hp : 5 Str : 45Skill : 35Spd : 5Luck : 50Def : 100Res : 70 Rating : Wrong Class/10 That's absolutely not the stats I expect from a Myrmidon, but that doesn't mean they're bad. And those bases are great anyway. Welcome in the team ! Hp : 5 Str : 5Skill : 70Spd : 95Luck : 35Def : 50Res : 5 [spoiler=Aftermath] So, I trained Tethys a little, and I guess you know what I'm gonna ask you : More Skill would be good, but still really great. (This is just a projection, she'll promote at level 20.) Should I chose higher Caps and +15 Crit, or +1 Move, Lethality and Lockpicks ? The poll will be updated shortly so you can (help me) decide. Anyway, let's go : [spoiler=Risky Rescue] I hadn't shown you the 2nd Valnii Boss yet. As you can see he's a scrub. And guess who's gonna stop it ? Strangely enough characters aren't randomized in this scene. And since Cormag('s remplacement) appears in this scene, we have no idea what he's gonna be. Oh well. And here's the main difficulty with this chapter. See, L'Arachel here is special. She is never promoted no matter who she is remplacing. The Anti-Myrhh if you want. And here she takes Innes' place. And she have one of the worst class in the game (Only Revenant is worse). You have to stop her for being killed ASAP. I made her hold a Slim Lance (though if in retrospect it was pretty useless) and made her not move no matter what Stat wise... At least she isn't one-shoted by mage (but those damn Hand Axe Fighter do one round her). We'll see if her growth are as good as her original ones. Stat-wise, he's just flat out superior to NataSucks. You can't really say more at this point. (I guess the one who died at this start was a stunt, while he was a way searching for his missing son.) Great HP, but kinda lacking Speed and Defense. If the growths are good she'll be trained, no doubt about it. I'll made her wear a Iron Sword to not be doubled. Otherwise... Anyway, she's the most likely to survive. Marisa's replacement. That attack is feaking low, and 4 move sucks . Otherwise, the rest is OK. His Strength Growth will makes or break him. Somewhat dangerous, but no 2-Range option. He's gonna be more of a trouble in 13A however. I didn't took a lot of pictures at the start because I though it would be yet another failed run. Oh well. We made everyone advance and got rid of the Hand Axe Fighter, Archers and Mage (in order of danger). I missed Innes and Syrene level up too. I think one of them only gained Skill. This soldier was mesmerized by Garcia's Glorious beard and muscles. (Here it's a good thing he only ahve 4 move.) Recruitment chain. Protecting them will become slightly easier. Cleaning the ennemies leads to some level up. Ewan and Henday spent each turn summoning the Invincible Armada to chip the ennemies I forgot recruiting her lead to reinforcements. Here comes the second hard part of this story And Syrene is cleaning the north-east side of the map. That Ranger is mostly a non issue for a while, due to where he appears, but those flying ponies smell troubles (thankfully,their leader have an awfull move.) (and I forgot to buy bow for Joshua...) Ewan and Henday spent each turn summoning the Invincible Armada to chip the Cavalier accompanying the Ranger. I don't remember if it hitted or not.I think I abandoned the idea. That's mine now. I think she actually managed to hit. Uuhh... That's why I update immediately usually. I guess Inness got Rid of the FalcoKnight with Joshua's help. Here's Syrene ceaning this side of the map. I wonder if she gained this level by beating the ranger. Sure... At least your Phantom is stronger now. The Level up is the only bad thig here (Syrene did chip Pablo) And now, it's time for Arena Grinding. Apparently Anna was disagrees. L'Arachel gaining a L'Arachel level. (Res is already Maxed by this point.) I think the choice is clear, right ? One of these class has a Pony, the other don't. I went with Hero there. Not many promotion choice here. This training took a while. I broke all my staffs midway, so it may healing a little harder. Let's finish A rare sight of a mountain-walking pony pulling 2 wywerns behind him. [spoiler=...I can't find any growth pun anymore.] Hp : 85 Str : 15Skill : 30Spd : 65Luck : 25Def : 80Res : 55 Rating : EstQueen/10 That perfect level looks a little more impressive now. She have as much Strength growth as Innes, Joshua and Natasha together (two of them being some of my best physical units). She have grown pretty well, and will be one of my top unit. Hp : 65 Str : 5Skill : 35Spd : 5Luck : 55Def : 55Res : 60 Rating : Dropped.jpg/10. Well, I'll let Yukine Chris express my opinion about her, while I'll do some dart training on her portrait. He turned up quite good all things considered. Not a lot to say, honnestly. Hre have no truly awfull stats, but no truly astoundishing either. A solid addition to the party, and finally a physical attacker with an existant strength growth. Hp : 5 Str : 35Skill : 70Spd : 20Luck : 50Def : 45Res : 75 Rating : Manrika/10 He have +20% growth compared to L'Arachel, but gained 2 less sStr point. How strange. His strength are quite shaky, and his HP are lame, but all the other stats are quite great. Not sure if I'd use him if he has another class, but Erika!Great Lord is good enough to makes him a place in my team. Next Time on T_T FE8R : Family Reunion. In a comfy house found by L'Arachel. I still had some failure because of my own mistakes. the greenies I had to save. Exceptionally, I'm gonna show you my losing path. Well, let's go : [spoiler=The light at the end of the tunnel.] A pretty ominous name. Ewn's replacement is a Ephraim!Lord. Remember this scene ? There was a reason Fado was nearby. Will Ephraim finally accept his fate and stop fleeing ? We'll see. As a unit, he's pretty slow, and his Fimbulvetr slows him even more. He's quite bulky though. Ephraim's travel companion. He's damn strong, but his weapon is weak as hell. He'll be Valni trained if his growth are god enough. Maybe I'll make him my warrior. I think I'll update the poll after chapter 12 Let's take a look at the ennemies, shall we ? This one isn one of the best, actually. There's quite huge variation of skill, and some only have 10. Not really a threat. Bownewalker aren't that different from Archers. That thing still spell trouble. I don't remember if I took a screenshot, but they're completely obliterated by my clerics. Myrmidon with infinite use Iron Sword. It makes me fear what their Evolution will be.... Those things are really dangerous. And I forgot to take Joshua (My only Archer) with me The real boss of this chapter. The official Boss of this chapter. A bandit who cares about his family more than anything. Not that much of a threat. This isn't canon, because I remarked I hadn't any Heal Staff yet, so I restarted the chapter. Lady L'Arachel founds the house good, but thought it was missing some light, so we happily obliged. Even when she's not fighting, Syrene manages to shine. Tana finally understanding how to avoid, and how to crit (screening a Bishop's crit is quite hard to do btw). Against basic ennemies, he shouldn't have to many troubles. Duessel is better at this whole avoiding thing. Duessel took the Map from the west. For this missed run, he was accompanied by Henday only. Just a pic to shows you how little FoW matters. Ewan is near as strong, and Henday... can helps a little. Oh, btw. I found a theme song for Syrene : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCmTJVew_tY That's actually Tana's crit on some ennemy. I told you it wasn't that easy to take (or I just suck at it.) Bow before your king ! Pretty much a typical level up for her. And she put this speed boost to use immmediately. We move most of our force to the side. The goal really was to feed as much Exp as possible to Duessel and Tana, while trying to train the newcommers. I have to get used to these kind of level. She already maxed Mag/Skl/Spd after all. Yay. Speed ! This will ends up being negated sadly... Duessel decides to attack the boss. Des he moves ? I'm not quite sure. Yes. Yes he does. and he hits too. Is this all over ? Duessel promised himself to better avoid next time, but will he be able to keep his promise ? Holy cow ! Let's all pray Saint Anna for this miracle ! The situation in this timeline Oh yeah, I made Tethys a swordmaster after all. Let's hope I won't have to regret this choice. Then a bunch of hooligans crash into our house, and Ephraim is one-rounded. Since we already have quite a lot of pics, I'll post the rest later. Soon : The winning path. Stay tuned ! We're actually a little before what I thought. (Since everything was doing well, I forgot to savestate) It worked well last time after all. This time he avoided this one. Res is cool too. He didn't avoided the Sword-wielding bonewalker though. You know , I don't get it. They know facing Syrene is a lost cause right ? I think she opened the chest here. This Treasure is MINE ! Meanwhile I moved he rest of the team, including Knoll to the other side of the map.And while this was really fun to summon the ennemy,,it ended up being a really stupid move. Can you guess why ? Tana moves to a safer place and is healed Not to bad. but it will get reverted. See, the thing is that that entombed decided to pursue those phantoms, putting it closer to Ephraim and Gerik. And then the Entombed decided that Gerik's flesh seemed more apetizing than the Phantoms. Small rewind. Phantom Wall. The other sacrificed himself to hurt the Entombed And indeed it's worse. Def is still cool I guess. Ephraim and Gerik reduced his life to 1HP and Duessel finish him;off for an OK level. Moving on...Everyone is reunited. Next turn I can open the last chest. Here's to show you this thing is quite strong/Syrene is amazing. I had to RN abuse in order for Syrene not to crit the ennemy. (even with the Shine who has 2 less Power and Crit) Last time I had to do this was with Orson in Ch5x. No overkill ! Tana get what she didn't get last level. Hayden got only Speed, but at least Fantôme As is even stronger. ...And we finish the level. I love to inflicts the exact damage necessary to defeat the ennemy. You know, I wasn't that much of a fan of him before, but I appreciate him a lot here. If you're like me, then...Well, first, my condolences. Sincerely. But, mainly, you were really awaiting this battle. Valter's Super Poney can not only walk on mountain, but he also have apparently hidden Pierce effect. (even with the crit he did, damages don't add up otherwise.) [spoiler=Treecko's evolution] HP : 60 Str : 35Skill : 40Spd : 40Luck : 90Def : 5Res : 65 Rating : Jeigan/10 I guess he could be decent if I trained him, but I aleady have a lot of good magic units already. No place for him in my team sadly HP : 45 Str : 30Skill : 65Spd : 80Luck : 45Def : 55Res : 25 Rating : Abel/10 I'm gonna train him in Valnii ASAP and we'll see how he turns out. He seems to be a pretty good unit. And this is over.Will I be able to get over this famous deadly bug ? Will I just ends up throwing Syrene at everything ?
