Khainiwest
You know when the game is getting difficult when I have to graph out the map on who has counter/aegis/pavise. lol So far I have; Lonqu!Severa, both with max stats, severa with forged short axe/killing edge (only at chapter 15) Although I have paird Panne up with her for the S rank benefit, while I actually made cordelia a hero, who is paird with lonqu. Chrome!Inigo, pretty much same thing as severa. All max stats, although I kept chrome paird with inigo, as he's used in all the chapters. Nowi!kellum, scrubs, havent bothered to train them yet.Nah!Avatar, Working on her tonight, but I'm making her an offensive tank. I can't beat the limitbreaker chapter as I don't have any worthy magic users, Once I have Morgan done, I'll make my avatar a AversaTank, which gives me two broken magic users right off the bat, then I'm going to work on a bolt axe brady with armsthrift. I sided with the red team. On turn 1 I had Fox!Chrom recruit Yarne so I could keep his ass alive. I largely kept the team together, going down the middle and through that corridor. At that point I split off and had Morgan/Lucina, Fred/Sumia, and Gaius/Panne head left while the others headed right, Libra and Lissa helping either team as needed. Morgan did the tanking on the left side and, while I wanted Chrom to fight a lot, Tiki ended doing most of the work on the right. Chrom did get a level in, though, and finally gained some more Spd. Severa talked to Holland on her turn 9, and on the following turn 10 I opened both chests and killed the boss. It actually worked out perfectly; the way things had gone, getting everything done in the last turn was easy but I could not have done any of them a turn sooner. I think that the story is balanced (to the extent that it's balanced at all) around not doing Paralogues. Well, it may have only been the case for those Paralogues. Even though they're just one level higher, the lv 7 enemeis in Nah's and Noire's Paralogues kill me so much faster. They must have more Hit on their forges on top of their +10 Hit skills. Suddenly I'm having a rather difficult time, though it doesn't help that Noire requires me to split my team to save her and finish in a reasonable time and Nah's map is just hell. Florete
Par 15 (Noire): 8/216 This would be made much easier if I could keep my team together, but to keep Noire safe and not necessitate having everyone backtrack, as well as being attacked at my flank, I must split.Def Tonics for any and all main fighters, most notably Panne, Tiki, and Chrom. Luckily, there's a sweet spot a flier can just barely reach on turn to be attacked by the first four fliers that will move for you and no one else, so Panne took that with Gaius gunning them down from behind. Chrom with Fox took the left, Aether keeping him alive and finally gaining Speed. Tiki needed Lissa to Rescue so she could attract the northern enemies on the first turn.On the second turn I healed up Chrom with Libra and had him sit there to take out the remaining enemies. Everyone else finished up the mounts Tiki had started on and Lissa grabbed Noire. At this point some more of the northern enemies start to come down. Chrom moves in for the initial horse brigade and accidentally attracts all the fliers near the boss. He backs up a bit and takes a few on enemy phase while Panne takes a few others safely. Then we clean up.By now the very northern fliers are coming. I take one turn to prepare for them and then let Tiki tank a few, after which we all move in and decimate. Then I stack some Rallies on Anna so she can get a boss kill and Acrobat. So this map is basically attract enemies -> clean up. None of the groups are super huge and it's usually easily to have a unit be in range of just one or two that can be killed reasonably easily on enemy phase even though the Falcon Knights are really fast.Panne is starting to do really well now. Florete
Any thoughts on potentially class-changing Morgan and Lucina? I'm considering Berserker for Morgan since he's already got B Axes and it would improve his offense overall, though he'll lose some Def/Res (and Swords, obviously). I kinda want to take Lucina to Paladin but probably won't since I like her with Rapiers.
Interceptor
You could always make Morgan a GK; decent mobility, weapon triangle control.
Redwall
Combat-wise, Paladin is probably one of the best choices for Lucina; fashion-wise, I'm not so sure. If her Paladin outfit (which I've never seen) looks half as terrible as Frederick's, sticking to Great Lord or Hero might be better. I like the Great Knight suggestion for Morgan. The Def cap for Great Knight is in the high forties or so for Morgan, which ought to make him nearly unkillable given that he has Sol. Florete
ITT Tiki is God. I propose she goes Top when we make a Lunatic tier list. Ch 20: 12/229 So this map puts aggressive enemies right in front and on both sides of you, then on turn 5 when you've survived those guys, reinforcements from the back appear and the next group in front of you all move.Fun!It's official, Tiki has replaced Fox as my main tank. She probably took out half or more of the enemies and gained 11 levels.Anyway, I started with Chrom/Fox, Morgan/Lucina, and Anna/Tiki blocking the middle. Panne/Gaius went to the right to distract those Generals and I had to let the guys at the left roam free.Next turn I had to maneuver and kill such that my squishies wouldn't die because the remaining enemies could still cover a lot of ground. Panne prepared to start taking out the guys north of her position with the help of Libra, Olivia, and Lissa.I know the reinforcements were coming, so I got out of there fast and cleared what enemies I could. Then I put Tiki in the way, Rallied her up, and watched her obliterate - with a regular Dragonstone, no less. She took the wave of reinforcements that come from the middle, then handled just about everyone that came from the north when Fox and Morgan moved to the other side. Morgan also got some action, though.Meanwhile, Fred!Sumia was running around to the west, healing up to avoid being killed by a Tomahawk Warrior and running away from a Counter Warrior. At the east, Panne was my only able-bodied combatant, and she had to protect Libra/Olivia, Lissa, and Cynthia/Yarne...yeah, some Rescue shenanigans were employed after Panne luckily killed the Rexcalibur Sage without dying, leaving 1 more Sage and 2 Generals that my others couldn't all get away from on their own, particularly Libra, and luckily the Sage could not kill any of them.So once my nightmares in the starting area were finally done and Tiki got to cool down from all the death around her, we headed up north. It's easy stuff at this point, though annoying when some of the enemies don't move until everyone can attack except Walhart. But we got them, then Lucina killed Walhart in two rounds after leaving him with 5 HP from the first. The Thief took the Spirit Dust and ran off with it, but no biggie. I employed some Rescue shenanigans to get Yarne to the remaining chests (Gaius passed down Locktouch) by the time I planned to finish the job up. Goddess Icon for Morgan. Drops for Gaius, Panne, and Sumia. Shield for Fox and Chrom. Talisman for Fox and Sumia. Book for Chrom. And now I have one of each booster left. What an annoying map. For some time there aren't many enemies to worry about and you can control who you fight pretty well, but then you pass that first wall and all enemies in front and behind you just charge at once. Needless to say, leading up to that isn't difficult at all; you just position a unit or two to take the few attacks that are coming. But you really need planning to handle what comes next.I prepared for the southern enemies by leaving Lucina!Morgan on the nearby pillar. He lived, at least. For the northern enemies my initial plan was to have Tiki tank them out like a capped-stats boss, but some of the Warriors had Counter and I didn't want to take the risk. To minimize chance of death, I found a good spot wherein I could have Chrom!Fox and Tiki tank across the wall, Fox equipped with a Sword to minimize enemy exposure, and in such a way that both Counter Warriors could only attack Tiki from range. After that enemy phase I was able to clean up and move forward again. The last part is almost like the first part except without being attacked from behind and it's easier to end since the map is a boss kill. I opened the last door, tanked the few enemies with Morgan and Tiki, then had Lissa Rescue Tiki over to take out the boss. This actually wasn't planned in advance, but I had huddled Lissa and Libra over at the right for safety, so it worked wonderfully.Tiki has HP, Str, Skl, Spd, and Lck capped. I propose she goes Top when we make a Lunatic tier list.Just to establish my hipster credentials, I have been hyping Manaketes in this game since before they were cool. They take one at Lunatic and snap all of its challenges neatly in half.
Florete
Ch 21: 7/265 The most difficult part of this chapter is the first turn. You have a lot of enemies right on your tail and not a lot of space to keep your squishies safe. But if you can manage to use clever positioning to get rid of the biggest problems, the rest of the map isn't that bad if you know what's coming.Tiki paved the way again, and eventually stayed behind to take down the reinforcements. I decided to get Chrom fighting again in here, so I stacked Rallies on him and had him enter the fray. He did fine. You never get many enemies on you at a time, so moving forward isn't such a big deal. On turn 7 I realized I could use some Rescue to get Chrom/Fox to kill the boss, so I stacked Rallies and did just that.I unfortunately missed the Bullion (L), but I got the Noble Rapier and the Fortify on the last turn.Morgan and Lucina are so badass they don't even need to be paired to wreck faces. Morgan Rallied alone so Lucina could still fight and they were fine. The rest of my scrubs had to team up on the four at the left. Brave weaponry works pretty well in this game with Pair Up, though. Helped a lot on enemies that couldn't be naturally doubled.Had Tiki ORKO the Balmung SM while Chrom got to the Rexcalibur Sage. Finished the other two off with Lucina/Morgan and Fred!Sumia, then had Panne fly in and switch so Gaius could use Parthia to get a OHKO on Aversa. 78 damage to her 71 HP.Forgot stats...but are they even necessary anymore? Ch 23: 6/275 Ugh. It wasn't actually that difficult once I figured out the first turn, but something kept going wrong. Once Lucina took 54 damage from a Vengeance at <40% displayed, another Cynthia got killed by a reinforcement after I killed Validar...ugh.Anyway...Morgan rallied everyone, then Olivia Danced for him, then we proceeded to kill the first 5 enemies in the southern area such that Olivia would be safe. Even Lissa/Libra got combat here, as rallies allowed them to double and their damage was never really a problem.Tiki would always take the brunt of things when it came to that, but otherwise the main story has gotten pretty easy since I did all those Paralogues. I mean, I knew it would make things easier, but I didn't think things would get this easy...On the 5th turn I made sure to cover the stairs around Validar with the enemies all dead. I used Rescue to get Chrom!Fox on the one Validar can attack so that I could weaken him on the enemy phase when his Vengeance trigger meant nothing, then I was able to OHKO him on player phase and clean up the 3 reinforcements that had arrived with the others.Clearly one does not need to grind to cheese Lunatic: one must only play multiple Paralogues. Incidentally, stuff like this is why I'm against trying Lunatic mode myself - I ultimately think it'd be boring due to being shoehorned into having to play the game a certain way just to succeed. Florete
Well, I'd like to say something as to that, but I'll just keep it to myself instead because I'm not going to derail the thread. Although of course, as Red Fox said, in Lunatic mode, waiting around for reinforcements would not be advised. Indeed, as we see in the following: Par 18 (Gangrel): 6/281 This map could have been done in one turn if I didn't have to worry about Gangrel. Maybe two if I only needed to talk to him once. But nope. There are extra Wyvern brigades here in Lunatic, and the original groups actually move when you draw in Gangrel instead of when you're in their range like on Hard. So yeah, that makes things more difficult. Since Tiki is completely capped out, she can tank anything like a boss, so she took the eastern wyvern brigade while Panne took the west and the rest of the group got some enemies in the middle. Enough units and Rallies made this part relatively simple to get through. Then Gangrel. Having already failed a few times, I knew I needed to increase my chances by sending Panne to distract the western Wyvern brigade. After Chrom drew Gangrel and everyone in, he talked from the fort, killed an enemy, got Danced by Olivia (who got Rescued away), then talked again and killed another enemy to allow Tiki to come through and kill/block the remaining enemies in that area. All the Wyverns have Swordbreaker, so this is kind of important. Morgan was positioned a bit south of Chrom such that he could block Gangrel from my squishies and not be targeted by much. He got attacked by but did not kill Gangrel, and on the next turn Chrom recruited Gangrel, I moved a Rescue staff to Anna, grabbed Morgan/Lucina, and had Lucina kill the boss to clear the map. The enemies are really tough and reinforcements can get overwhelming. I realized I needed to clear it by turn 5 player phase so another wave of grave risers wouldn't appear. I also stacked Tonics like mad. For a while I was trying to have Lucina take the lead, and she did really well, but she often fell short of kills and died a few times. Then I looked at Morgan: basically same Spd as Lucina, better Sol activation (Skl% + Rightful King), Armsthrift, and Helswath? What have I been doing all this time? Tiki soloed the right of the map considering she's the only one who can hold her own like that. She drew in some waves on the 3rd turn and doubled back for the turn 4 reinforcements. Aegis is annoying, but luckily none of the reinforcements are Paladins and easily enough killed. After stacking Rallies, Sumia flew up to start on the north west group. Panne got a Paladin and Fox got a Dark Knight position just right for such a thing to be possible. Morgan took the nearest, more central group. After stacking Rallies on the next turn, Morgan charged a bit further, getting in range of the next available group that Tiki would not grab. Fox got Danced by Olivia and took out the Bow Knight that had shown his face in the area, then took out the remaining enemies from the northwest on enemy phase. Morgan handles most of the reinforcements and just a lot of enemies in general. Walhart starts to move. For the final enemy phase, Morgan gets ready to weaken Walhart, but Walhart triggers Pavise twice and Lucina doesn't join in...ugh. Luckily, I can get Chrom to Brave quad with a Rally Speed and Valflame is strong enough that Fox only needed to join in and hit twice to take down Walhart, which happened without a problem. I had meant to position on enemy phase such that the two Paladins but not the Bow Knight from the north west would attack her after showing up, but miscounted and she was out of range. Still, I was able to get the kills with her, Sumia, and Morgan just fine, and that ended the map. Florete
Par 20 (Emmeryn): 1/287 Simple. Stack Rallies -> Rescue Lucina with Sumia -> Dance Sumia -> Rescue again -> kill.Panne got the Bullion and Tiki got the Village.Stats: Same as before but Lucina got +1 HP. Par 21 (Yen'fay): 8/295 This...huh. This wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would be. Tonic'd everyone up but not sure if needed. On the first turn I found it most important to get rid of the Assassins and the closer enemies. Along with that, I blocked the southern Swordmasters with Say'ri!Morgan and Fred!Lucina (this was to have extra combat support). Tiki took north and ended up tanking out and killing a good deal of enemies on enemy phase. Still no problems with her.I had previously found out that Yen'fay can be killed on the first turn by a Swordmaster you can't reach, so I Rescued him away and recruited him on turn 2 when the coast was clear. After clearing out the few remaining enemies in the area, I started up north. The enemy AI here is actually fairly good, but annoying. They won't move until you're in range of a lot of them. So naturally I had to stack Rallies on Tiki and send her in. Then it was just a game of blocking chokepoints and killing Assassins with Pass. The enemies in this map just aren't that threatening, oddly enough. It's all Swords with some Bows and Axes mixed in, and the boss' weapon is really weak, so 50 crit didn't mean much. The setup of the map also makes it fairly easy to stack rallies on the whole group and keep your squishies and rally bots safe. But even once an Assassin got through and doubled base Basilio but still couldn't kill.So yeah. Even Yen'fay actually got a kill. Oh, and Basilio. When Tiki drew in some of the northern enemies she left a lot weak. No biggie. Gaius got to kill Aversa again, though. And Chrom got to kill himself. Anna killed Tiki and Lissa killed Libra. Woohoo.
