Favorite Characters so far?

Further along now and I'm really liking Inigo and Owain. Their C support is hilarious and Owain is made of ham. "FIGHTERS! ASSEMBLE!" laugh.gif

Cervantes gets mad props for being a bit of an Eggman look-alike and having some hilarious lines for a minor villain.

I'm also a huge fan of Brady, which makes me sad cause I probably won't use him as much as I would like.

My Avatar's wife Anna along with Morgan team up with Levin swords and kick Ass with our ridiculous magic stats.

But I really do wish she didn't have to swear so much, lol.

Aw, I like her swearing. Mainly 'cuz she and I have a lot of similarities and I also swear often so it makes her very relatable. :B

Like seriously sometimes I'm reading her supports and it felt like IS is stalking me.

Favorite character design/character wise?

Tharja/Sariya - I absolutely love her design and character. She is very interesting and at least from what I can tell is more of the type of Yandere who just really loves Avatar and wants to appeal to him. She knows what she wants XD. Gasai Yuno if anybody watches anime. She isn't nearly as cruel hearted as you'd get from first glances, you can tell from some of her supports that she actually cares about people in her own kinda weird way. Most importantly the one with Noire is noteworthy. And Avatar.

Favorite character in terms of stats and junk?

Other than Avatar? or Morgan? I'm leaving out any kids of the avatar or the avatar because you can utterly break them because of being able to access most classes. Tharja again, In my first "for fun and story" playthrough I was able to reclass her enough to make up for a few of her downfalls and in the end I was very satisfied with both her damage output being magic (+luna lololol). And being able to use dark magic (forged Nosferatu woo!). Only gripe is no galeforce but its ok.

Needless to say Tharja is my Avatar's Wife :3. I was shocked to see that in a Japanese popularity poll she was #3 on the list of favorite female characters. And the most popular "parent" female character.

I think he's saying 'tenure'.

In my mind, hes saying "Ten Year" and if you think about it, its funnier that way. :P:

Heh! Yeah...totes. Sully is my FE spirit animal next to Henry.

Hmm odd...Mine would probably be Inigo besides the whole "dancing" thing. I can't dance. But Inigo trying to be a dual "ladies man" and actually being really shy is a lot like me.

I haven't gotten to them yet but once I get far enough in this hardmode playthrough and can marry off kids I'm getting Morgan+Inigo (because I think they mesh really well, happy and outgoing morgan with kinda shy but fun Inigo). And Noire+Owain cause....Owain is just amazing. Definitely one of my favorite male characters of the game besides Avatar and Chrom.

Virion and Lon'qu seem like total bros, and I like Sumia's character (I'm one of the few, of course.), so that's why iI plan on hooking her up with MU. I also like Olivia, and I don't have any opinions on the kids yet, though Inigo seems bro.

I tried not to be biased by including my family of Cordelia, Morgan, and Severa so I'll leave them out. Personally I don't hate any of the characters in the game, though some are just not as strong as others and get overshadowed pretty easy.

So now that I've got all non-SpotPass characters my favorites go as follows:

Males (In no particular order):

Frederick: Every support gets better and better, especially between him and the Male avatar, Chrom, Panne, or Maribelle.

Gaius: He may get diabeetus later, but for now, he's pretty amusing.

Henry: HAVE SOME DEATH!!!! And all that stuff in between. Nya ha!

Owain: His sword hand hungers...in so many funny ways

Gerome: He's cool whenever he's not dealing with Minervykins...which is still funny btw.

Females:

Sully: In a game where we call people dastards yet she's dropping "craps" into her sentences, gotta love Sully. She'll kill you...twice!

Olivia: Hazukashi always wins and dodges like a pro.

Cherche: All of her problems get dealt with Minerva...funny as hell. Plus helping Minerva find a mate for her support with the male avatar is pretty funny. I'm surprised half of the people I've supported with her haven't gone deaf.

Tiki: Mostly from a nostalgic perspective. Sad other than her main scene in the Tree of Mila, she has very little importance outside of her Paralogue story wise. Still, hearing her occasionally speak like she used to in Shadow Dragon is a good feeling that she's still the same little girl Tiki from long ago.

Lucina: She is vulnerable which makes her more human. She caries the burden of the future which she came from and is willing to make sacrifices for the greater good, even if it's the most difficult one. She IS my favorite character of the game.

Lucina ! Don't know why, but I like this girl, she won the sit in my favorite FE Girl list (sorry Elincia, still I think you're awesome), and from the boys, Gaius, I find his likes for sugar funny, and I like his "Candy? No candy?"

Frederick is cool. His paranoia is actually kind of endearing and he seems like one of the more intelligent members of the shepherds. Miriel's character is cool, if only she wasn't so ugly and so terrible (I know she can turn out great but I benched her so ehh). Kellam, and Donny are pretty amusing. Except Kellam's combat sucks, but Donny's potential to be the strongest dude on the battlefield (surpassed only by his son). Gaius has some good classes but his "Candy is my life" thing is overdeveloped to the point where it is mentioned in like all of his supports and dialogue IMO. Gregor and Henry are hilarious but I'm not using Henry because he's too little, too late. I absolutely love Basilio and Flavia's relationship though.

As for the children characters, Owain is funny, of course. Brady is actually pretty funny too, and I expected that I would hate him. Yarne is hilarious and he's definitely my favorite character overall. My only criticism is that his father support isn't really that different for different fathers, but it is still one of my favorite supports.

Overall, I like the multidimensional characters like Inigo (his character consists of both womanising and dancing, maybe that's a bad example but the point is there's more to his character than one thing) over 1D characters like Gaius (I like candy) and Sully (Damn you to hell, you DASTARD!).

The Magnificent Seven, In terms of Character:

1. Noire (She reminds me of myself. Except my berserk outbursts are under my conscious control and not a sign of mental problems brought on by years of abuse)

2. Henry (BeCAWS he's so hilarious)

3. Lucina (The only Lord character in the FE games I've played that I haven't found boring, besides Hector)

4. Miriel (I just have a thing for girls with glasses. And girls with hats. Miriel has both )

5. Maribelle (Maribelle x Lissa OTP)

6. Lissa (See Above)

7. Basilio (The spoilerific scene where he proves to be a total cunning badass and not just dumb muscle won me over)

In terms of stats:

1. Lucina (Maybe just how she turned out in my first playthrough but Aether + Rightful King + Astra + Galeforce + Lethality = Completely OP (not sure she can get all those skills without an Avatar mother))

2. Morgan (Everything Lucina gets, except replace Aether with Ignis)

3. Avatar (Goes without saying. He/She can get all those skills I listed for Lucina except for Aether and Rightful King. Along with almost any other skill in the game).

4. Owain (An Honorable Mention in terms of Character, too)

5. Nah (Especially with Donnel as her father)

6. Tharja (Nosferatu = Game Breaker)

7. Henry (See Above. He turned out a little worse than Tharja in my first playthrough, but that was probably an RNG thing)

Please go read Gaius x Mariabelle

It didnt involve candy at all

I will, and I'm sure it's a good support, but it's still just one and while other characters have their "thing", they have many supports where other interests are revealed. Take Kellam. Sure he has the "No one can see me" thing going on in most if not all of his supports, but he also has other elements of his character. For example, in his support with Donnel, it is revealed that he has a farming background. I'm just not seeing anything like that with Gaius. And believe me, I want to, my Hero Gaius is a powerhouse.

Yes, but only if 'without an Avatar' means 'with Olivia'. Only Avatar and Olivia can pass down both Myrmidon and Pegasus Knight.

This thread is needing more Gregor. I love his lines and prefer his English VA to the Japanese one.

Oh, and Donny of course. He'll be throwing Ragnells everywhere when I get one. I shipped a Female Avatar and Donny together and Morgan is just wrecking house. Since I married Avatar and Donny, Morgan started as a villager so I didn't have to pass down Aptitude as he learns it naturally.

Aside from those two guys, I'm enjoying Owain's supports. (MY SWORD HAND IS TWITCHING!)

I reclassed Virion as a mage and then sage later on to pair with dark knight Tharja and oh boy did they make an amazing Sorcerer Noire. I'm surprised at how much magic Virion had by the end of it.

Also, Kjelle is awesome because of her custom general model + Astra and Counter from VaikeXSully.

Tiki(Even if her Paralogue is a huge pain in the ass), Lucina cause she's cute and a pretty cool character, Gaius cause his supports with MU are funny, Olivia cause she literally sparkles and Gangrel because I like his hair

I blame the original supports being not very in depth for most of the characters, really. Localisation tried and did a good job with most but there's only so much you can do with the source material. The contents in the original supports actually nearly turned me off from the game entirely before localisation made it better.

But anyway. Gaius x Maribelle was completely different and it really stood out. It's actually one of the reasons why he's one of my favourites.

Gaius and Lissa's supports have very very little to do with candy as well. And they are ADORABLE together.

Miriel's character is cool, if only she wasn't so ugly

Get out. |:[

Im becoming a shameless Gaius fan. I reclassed him to a myrm this time around and holy shit. He's paired with Lissa so yeah i can expect a great Owain this time around as well!

The contents in the original supports actually nearly turned me off from the game entirely before localisation made it better.

Arr. This is one of those times where Localized version >>>>> Original Japanese.

I absolutely love Walhart. He is so cool. He's actually a really well written villain.

You almost aren't sure if he is supposed to be a villain or not. Not only does he want to do away with the dependence on Gods in a game where everyone else (Ylisse, Plegia) worships either a good or evil god, but he also puts Excellus in his place ("Get your head out of wherever it's lodged, snake. I'm sure your mighy intellect will quickly understand what's happened. Though if you had half the mettle of that Ylissean tactician, you'd already know). Walhart really blurs the lines between ally and villain and good an bad in this game, and gets a lot more dialogue in which his character is a lot more fleshed out than Yen'Fay. He's one of the more intelligent and practical villains and actually raises some good questions about the morality of Chrom's fight. He's a lot more convincing and easier to empathize with than any of the other characters, while still being one of the antagonists who act out of their free will rather than because of blackmail or threats. Sure there have been some other villains in the series that fell in this grey area like Zelgius, Pelleas, Michalis, Camus, and Percival, but Valhart is my favorite and he is one of the few that isn't rectuitable in the main story. Plus, he has the whole "I conquered the whole continent and now I'm coming after you" thing going for him and the comparisons Chrom makes between him and Emmeryn are really interesting.

Not to mention his design and his unique class and skills as well as the accompanying weapons Sol and Wolf Berg. Lastly, he has some really awesome quotes and conversations:

"Walhart: Why do you resist me, little Prince?

Chrom: You enslave the weak and kill the able. You are the enemy of peace.

Walhart: I would end the reign of the gods, and you object on moral grounds?! Blood is spilled in any new birth, Prince. And in many a just cause, as you know...

Chrom: There is no justification for what you've done.

Walhart: By whose laws do you judge me? Yours? Your sister's? The gods'?

Chrom: You cannot—

Walhart: Look at you! Are you not ashamed? Your mind is filled with nothing but secondhand beliefs. You dance upon the stage of your gods like a mindless puppet! THAT is what I reject: being a slave to tradition, to obligation. The old ways. Damn the gods! Damn their fates and their destinies! I will have true freedom! Any man who offers less is my enemy.

Chrom: Enough! I don't require every detail of your twisted philosophy. You're a villain and a murderer, plain and simple. And I am the justice you deserve.

Walhart: Ha ha ha! Better, Prince. Much better! Be not an agent of someone else's justice, but justice itself! Now, let us fight as two great men, freed of their gods. I grant any challenger the chance to test his will against my own... But you, too, shall be found wanting!

(Chapter 20)

Walhart: ME, JOIN YOU?! Does a pegasus join with the flea on its back? A dragon, with a cow it eats?! You forget your place, BOY. I am the Conqueror! I will unite the world!"

Walhart in Golden Gaffe: "Only a wretch would grasp at the gold clinking in the pockets of others. You want to steal from a conqueror? Best pray that coin doesn't melt in hell."

And then there's the quote that is so I awesome I made it my member title: "Who is the pinnacle of man, in body, mind, and spirit?"

On the other hand, I hate Gangrel. So much so that I even killed him in his Spotpass sidequest, coming from someone who's recruited every character possible in every fire emblem game since fe6. I just couldn't bring myself to let Gangrel cheat death. He's depraved and evil in a way that makes you hate his character.

Not in the "I want to resurrect the dark dragon and destroy the world" archetype either like Validar, whose almost easier to accept because he has a grand overall evil scheme. I just feel like Gangrel is the least likable character because he's not controlled by any dark forces he just wants to kill the peace loving exalt for pretty much no reason. I know they tried to add the piece about Chrom's father to justify it, but there's no justification in the world that can make me like Gangrel.

While Walhart's a good villain, I wish they'd developed him more. Really, that was an issue with a lot of the game's story for me-- much of it feels good, but underdeveloped (in comparison to FE 9/10).

I think my favorite characters are Kellam, Gaius, definitely Henry, and Basillio from 1st Gen, and Lucina from second gen.

...yeah, I've barely used second gen characters. Owain and Inigo are cool and I hate Severa. Cynthia's...weird, I dislike Yarne and Laurent, haven't gotten much of an impression out of Morgan and Nah, and the rest I haven't recruited yet. XD

Kinda sad to say Chrom made little impression on me, since I usually love FE lords (Hector, Ike, Lyn, Eliwood, Ephraim, and Michiah)

This is a little hard for me, but here's what I've picked so far:

Character Design/Personality-Wise:

Japanese!Libra, since we both worship God. [insert internal dialogue of version similarities but with NOA's "God" -> "the gods" decision here]

Lissa, Say'ri, Lon'qu, Nah, Laurent, and Kjelle.

Virion because of the whole Edgeworth look, and Gerome because he makes me think of Phoenix Wright now. I think I made a good choice, pairing Lon'qu up with Cherche.

Stat-Wise

Panne, Nowi, Nah, Yarne, and Tiki. Good EXP rate, and the reclassing mechanics makes them easy stat-gain units.

Gerome was OP'd when I got him. Hello, Astra-using Wyvern Knight. This led to Morgan being broken as well.

How can I not mention Donnel? He can make any child he can have be good stat-wise, too.

Gaius is on a dodge fest in my best playthrough.
