Monstrously Random Reclass II: Electric Boogaloo!

So, nerds, after a shoutout from Klokinator in his video covering randomizers, I've decided to give this bad boy another whirl--this time with less AWFUL jokes and an actually completed run!

Here are the rules:

1. Every unit will be randomly reclassed into another, from a gender+monster merged set--this will be done manually, chapter-by-chapter.

2. These units will come with inventories roughly analogous to their own. Units who are particularly bad may receive an out-of-depth weapon, if that weapon can't just be handed off to a better unit.

3. Units promote how they originally did--so Franz promoted with a Knight Crest or Master Seal, no matter his class, and Eirika only promotes at the post-Chapter 16 event.

4. Don't be a grindchump.

5. This game will be played on Difficult.

6. Route will be determined by voting.

7. Monsters with access to dark magic will be allowed to wield dark tomes.

8. Only one dancer per run; this ain't FE6RR.

9. Monster weapons will upgrade on promotion, if that upgrade would be beneficial for the character.

10. HAVE FUN BROS

11. Ross, Amelia, and Ewan are treated as ordinary, unpromoted units.

12. Brigands promote as Pirates.

13. Soldiers promote into Paladins, Great Knights, or Generals, taking on the bases of their new class.

14. Monsters, instead of having standard promotion gains, have their bases adjusted to fit their new classes.

15. Summoning is banned for characters whose summons glitch or are inordinately strong.

16. Myrrh will be treated as an unpromoted unit and permitted to promote with any promotion item.

17. Oh, and I can't (and even if I could, wouldn't) change the classes of player characters until they come under my command.

Prologue: A Boy And His Zombie

It's always been like this. I'm the go-to man for Fado's dirty work, as if I'm some tireless paragon of strength. Okay, I am, but does that mean having me cleaning up every chewed-on servant is a good decision? Or a considerate one? Or standing on the brunt end of every last recruit's flailing lance? Who knows, maybe I'd like to go a day without--

And when it's time to haul his shambling corpse of a child across mountains, rivers, forests, and a natural border? Whose fucking job is it.

Mine. Of course. How on Earth am I going to get this damn thing through customs?!

He wasn't kidding. Look at this miserable pile of refuse. This--this is my Lord right here. Literally anything with 4+ AS tears through her like so much wet paper, and will until the end of time. I honestly think I may need to give her a dedicated carrier, because this is just unconscionable. How is one even supposed to train this?! Calling it now: y'all are gonna make me go Eirika's route. Calling that shit.

And this right here is the reason that roll doesn't make this run a wash. Seth is our BOY, and he is not here to disappoint. As a note, he is, in fact, a promoted class--one that gets a +15 CRT bonus, no less. Yes, this does, in fact, mean he is the capital of Crit City this run. He'll need it, too--his base AS is actually not very good, and there's going to be some distinct not-doubling happening for this man.

This Fighter has 1 Speed for no reason. If he didn't, he would one-round Eirika. This is honestly worse than the first time around. THOU SHALT NOT FEED TODAY.

Seth, on the other hand, is more than capable, and quick to demonstrate the main draw of Journeyman: THE KRITZ.

Really, the only thing this fellow's got going for him is double Cs and the very occasional double. He'll probably be Javelin-chipping things for days, once I get a spare one of those. Still, he really isn't particularly awful, either.

Franz, on the other hand, is about as glorious as he is in vanilla. A noticeable shrink in durability and muscle is well offset by that thar RUTOGASPEED. Also RUTOGASKILL, though he certainly isn't the critmaster of this run.

Might as well?? Gilliam might need to dent an axebro or two.

...are my good units' first attacks all going to be crits? I'm okay with this trend. 100%.

Well, it didn't have to happen, but it was reasonably likely. This feller, ah... isn't a standout combat unit. And thief utility is already covered by a more durable unit. There are upsides to this, though!


Namely that Colm is now Orson, confirmed.

Some people have rocks for brains--but even for the corpse, this is a new low.

Ross actually does a little more work. This time, chipping so Franz can KO in two shots.

Ross has to tank a hit, but this is both expected and acceptable.


Moulder finishes the job after coming through the wall. Franz seriously needs to take note. Franz do this some more. Moulder has stiff competition for the Guiding Rings--Artur and Lute are just about guaranteed to have muscles, what with having solid bases on tiny class bases.


Moulder can tank the two hits he's got to this phase--it's so odd that my squishies survive things nowadays!--and double Thieves, no less. By quite a wide margin. Pretty sure he can double everything for the next ten maps at this point.


And this is how Seth stops himself from doubling. See also: that he won't be able to mow down Piles O' Folks with a Hand Axe.


On EP, Moulder gets an honestly lackluster level for denting a Brigand. CURSE YOU, MOUSTACHE!


Franz uh... gets DEF? He really, really wants some Speed to get off the ground though. IF YOU WANNA BE COOL ENOUGH TO HANG WITH THIS CREW YOU NEED THE SPEED BRUH

I've heard recently it was the Master Seal, and their classes were just like a pirate.

There was a video on youtube on it in the past, its removed now though.

I've also heard its different from other classes such as the monsters which didn't promote in the games data, despite stuff like Wight being a clear higher version.

Hm, you may well be right. It'd be curious that they'd be removed from Hero Crest's code though.

And yeah, monsters will be getting the BIASFORDAYS bases to bases, which is generally quite a bit better than promotion gains are.

(NOTE: You can multivote for Myrrh's class if you like! Take advantage of this if there are several classes you like a lot more than the rest.)

As for being screwed: I'm not gonna lie, I'm dreadfully short on durable units. Although if you look at Journeyman(3) in general and Seth's stats in particular, they really aren't bad. It's funny... I honestly think Ephraim's route will be much much harder for me at this rate, since Eirika's has a lot more terrain, if memory serves, and most of my units survive things by dodging. So, er... WELP.

I think choosing Eirika's route will actually do you a favour because you won't have to do Phantom Ship. Ephraim is forced there and for all we know he could be in an equally crappy class. At least Eirika is moderately safe in most of her maps (have fun with pincer attacks from the mountains in chapter... 12, was it; though).

Also, Father and Son is hell without staffbots, and there's 0 guarantee of those at this point. I'd just be picking a god and praying that Artur or somebody was hitting RES like gangbusters.
