Alright guys thanks, been trying to clear the game 100% and hard mode is giving me quite the trouble so i wouldn't want to lose them

In part 3 chapter 1 if i'm not wrong u have 2 partners, lyre and lethe. Their quotes when they die show that they retreat but is it the same as an ally's retreat? Meaning they won't die therefore still be a part of story/info but be unusable or since they're just partners i can't control, their retreat differs therefore still allowing their usage?
