  1. You can also just do it in the reply box, opening "code" and hitting "OK" just gives you a blank box like this:

At around C28 I pretty much decided to ragequit and afterwards only played in small, impulsive, and very unreliable bursts with the help of savestate abuse. FE7 is tedious -.-

The Karel/Harken thing would've been nice to know earlier. Thanks though!

Turn 1: is spent wallowing in my own misery because people can't reach things, and admiring the nifty 10 fixed distance damage Fire!Armorslayer. We can say bye-bye to combat animations now.

    HzN5P76.png

Turn 2: is spent complaining about what a useless Jagen Roy!Ellen is, and crying because Eclipse!IronSword is ridiculously stupid.

    UZTyeNy.png

Turn 3: is spent noticing holyshit Iron Axes are unbreakable

    YVlGdZ1.png

Turn 4: is spent crying about this always happening

    xj4IZQj.png

Turn 5: is spent realizing that I won't be able to live with a 3 Move Lord oh no, also we get our first level

    9taZmEW.png

Turn 6: I didn't want to have to resort to this, but

Turn 7: I finally seize, also Zealot's second level is awful.

  3. Y’know, Fire Emblem’s been kinda boring lately. There are only so many times you can play the same game before you get tired of it. I can’t help but wonder if anything could make everyone’s favorite, most reliable GBAFE even more fun. Hmm, maybe…

    rnHJ9KN.png

Yes, the 30 Hit minimum really is necessary. Fuck FE6 axes.

To top everything off, I didn’t apply the translation patch, which broke the changelog! And I’m far too lazy to open everything in Nightmare to check it, so this is a completely blind run as well!

I post changelog stuff on Imgur!

    Chapter 3:

  4. omg I agree! I had a friend who was too afraid of FE's difficulty to even try the game and I got him to try by telling him if he really needed to, he can use save states. OTL 90 turns later I come back and its really been about two hours and he's actually only 10 turns into the map and I'm like BRO WHAT

And it's frustrating because I know I only need to spend 10 minutes on a map, but no wait I could go back and get a speed/strength level up, that'll help me in three chapters because I know there's an annoying 15 speed mercenary and I don't want to be doubled, and then it's 15 minutes, and hold on if I rig that first hit to miss I can get extra WEXP so then it's 20 minutes, but also it doesn't matter if I miss that 78% right? another unit can take the kill but then they won't be able to help with bosskill and that costs me a turn so I might as well redo that so that ups my time to 30 minutes. And then I rinse and repeat that process until I finally feel satisfied with a clear, but it's been an hour.

i'm so glad you feel me bro

  5. Actually, I think you're better off then me, then. See, I don't even bother to do that. I do LTC, and I just rush things and go from there...I don't even THINK. I just do, and after 9001 tries, I get this badass, creative strategy. Maybe a person that actually bothers to hold back and think a little might have more success and actually get things done. :L

Huh, seems like our issues are opposite. I have to plan everything heavily, and I can't stand doing impulsive runs, something I'd like to pick back up.

Play casual mode where applicable, so you don't have to worry about losing your units if you fuck up. Restarting chapters sucks and is terrible anyway.

For games without it... Well you could save scum as they call it, but that gets frustrating after a while, too...

I don't recommend savestate abuse. It's really the only way I can play FE anymore, and I practically have to savestate before every single action that requires the use of RNs. It starts out nice, but it gets extremely stressful, moreso than if I don't savestate. If someone gets a bad level and I didn't have savestates, I'd just say "eh" and move on. If I do have savestates, I always get a nagging feeling that I should go back and rig for better levels.

    play 0% growths.

I tried 0% growths once, but I never finished. Maybe I'll give it another go.

  6. To an extent, yes, I can relate. I used to be able to play entire games without giving a shit, but after I started doing LTC, I always feel guilty if I dally on a map, and I pretty much have to hit all the gaidens and units. I also use "lower tier" units with less frequency, whereas before I could use any unit without much issue. I'm always religiously conservative with funds and weapons, even though there's usually absolutely no reason to be.

  7. Chapter 32- 4/155

Heath rescued Hector and flew to Limstella. Nino with Bolting is pretty funny.

    Chapter 32x- 1/156

Warp!BraveLance!Heath. Had to rig a ~20 disp crit to pull this off.

    Final Part 1- 3/159

unreliable af but I did it and I ended up doing this stupid rescue chain to get Matthew to all the fucking doors since I only had 2 Door Keys.

    Final Part 2- 1/160

    Luna!Athos and Armads!Hector.

    [spoiler=Stats]

Name: Lv.XP HP STR SKL SPD LCK DEF RES Weapon Lv.

    Nils: 9.46 22 0 1 16 17 6 8

Hector: 6/10, indispensable b/c Lord, great early-midgame, sucks ass lategame, picks up a little but not enough after late promotion.

Matthew: Thief/10, great utility and gets you items but doesn't really contribute to combat, probably saved me a turn or two.

Serra: 7/10, I promoted her kinda late b/c I'm bad at using healers, but after promotion she gets high crit and Warp! plus she's adorable.

Florina: 7/10, flier and great lategame but such a damn pain in the ass without LM to help her, I'd forgotten how awful her bases are.

Wil: 8/10, proc'd lots of speed really early, still an archer, though. sort of like a Rebecca with less speed and more str.

Heath: 9/10, probably the MVP, flier and consistently good after he starts existing, which is relatively early, training him isn't too hard.

Harken: 3/10, cost me 4 turns -.- high enough bases to make him pretty good, but his recruitment loses him major points.

Nino: 4/10, took her as a joke but I'm kinda impressed at how quickly she caught up, she did things and probably shaved a couple turns.

Athos: Athos/10, what more needs to be said?

Ninils: Dancer/10, sorry Nils but Bards haven't existed long enough so they're still dancers to me.

    Total: 160 Turns

I'm actually pretty happy that I managed to cheese 160 turns. I could’ve gotten a much lower TC if I wasn’t so lazy (and if I hadn’t been stupid enough to draft Harken). However, I'm too busy feeling accomplished to care. Fuck yes I finally finished go me!

  8. About the EXP pace, if Serra promotes, she will have no problem gaining relatively fast EXP on PP and EP, whereas Lucius will be busy building his Staff rank on PP, something Serra doesn't have to do, and will be seeing very limited combat on EP since dropping him in a swarm of enemies that have ~50 hit on him is a fairly poor idea. Let me reiterate a fact that people seem to be missing- Serra does not have to build her Staff rank after promotion. Lucius will, unequivocally, be better before promotion. After promotion, however, his utility will decrease for a period, while Serra's will consistently increase.

  9. um guys clearly something isn't right here if you squint really heavily at sigurd's statsheet his name looks kind of like roy also if you compare fe4!miridr and gba!midir, you can see that fe4!midir's ponytail is longer by 0.04mm and if you have some serious photoshop skillz you can edit alec's sprite and the bottom of his face is identical to lance's, i think we found ourselves a liar

  10. Except that there's no plausible reason to assume that Priscilla is not being used in the first place.

What if you're playing a mountless challenge? What if you grinded Staves in LM and Serra has a huge level lead? What if you, like OP (?) are using only LM units? What if you just want to use Serra over Priscilla on a whim? What if you just like Serra better? What if you were too lazy or wanted to shave turns and didn't visit Priscilla's village? There a plenty of reasons why Priscilla could potentially remain unused.

Most of the effective weapons aren't that great, other than the lords' prf weapons.

Not if you don't want your Lords to get every bosskill. Maybe it's just a difference in our playstyles?
  11. My bad, I clearly have no idea what I'm talking about (because that wasn't obvious when I confused cabs and knights), carry on gentlemen, I'll see myself out of the conversation.

I still maintain that effective weapons are still better for bosskills, since you usually get a free one of each from enemies or chests (and their axe/lance versions) and they have only one utility.

  12. Oops, "knight" translated to "cavalier" instead of "armor knight" in my head. Silver Swords aren't exactly common in midgame and have a fairly high demand, whereas you'll only have one Light Magic user.

  13. Erm, no. Divine is much too heavy to consider using over Shine (Serra loses a whopping 7 AS from it, and Lucius loses 5, which ain't much better). You are right on the bit where promoted healers get more CEXP, though.

I meant Divine as opposed to Aura for killing promoted/higher level enemies, similar to using a Armorslayer against mounted units.

Lucius has slightly more HP and speed, so if he's getting ORKO'd so is Serra. He'll almost certainly have a level lead as well.

Serra actually has a slight lead in speed, but, yes, I forgot about his HP lead.

  14. Assuming that Priscilla isn't being used, Serra will already have either A or B staves upon promotion, whereas Lucius starts with C and you'll have to train him, taking away from his combat utility. Serra will be able to engage in combat immediately upon promotion, and, assuming a level 10 promotion for both of them, they'll have ~7 difference in avoid, which boils down to the difference between a safe 36 and a flimsier 43 dodge rate. (~26 and ~37 in true hit.) When dodge-tanking large swarms of enemies, which they'll probably be doing due to low enemy res, Lucius is in much more danger than Serra. Serra also has slightly better def, so if she gets hit, she'll live, while when Lucius gets hit, he has a good chance of getting ORKO'd. Most generic enemies have low enough res that Lucius's lead in magic is negligible against most non-promoted enemies, and you probably won't be using him for bosskills anyways. Getting Serra to C Light is completely viable, and unless you really want to use Aureola/Luce, Divine is good enough to last for the rest of the game. Promoted healers also gain extra BEXP in this game, IIRC, but don't quote me on it.

Assuming casual play, it's even easier to level Serra, since you can just spam Heals or Mends before seizing. Arena abuse is also a thing in casual play, and Serra's exp growth increases exponentially from it.

  15. I'd like to try!

There might be a small issue with drafting, though, since, barring only a few units, we'd all be drafting based on recruitment order. I'd say that randomized recruitment might be better. (Since then we'd be choosing on bias.)
