  1. I played Gidain a little while back and its probobly my seccond favorite, if not favorite FE. The UI is not really as slow as most people say, but I played it on a solderd cartrade on an origonal NES, so that might have had something to do with it. I would deffenatley reccomend it.
  2. On the quest to beat all fire emblem games. 3 Down on Sacred Stones

  3. Hey ive been gone a while because school caught up with me but to answer your questions, A: I would second seal to dark mage because you dont get another seal for a few chapters and on Lunatic + no grouth of any kind for that long will kill you. B: I would wait for tomefire because in lategame a +5 magic is the difference between getting killed by a unit with 1 HP left. (I hate that so much) Valkere is better if you want to tank because the resistance and DF is best for offence and galeforce is nice. With a Stahl support Valkerie looks like a good choice, Plus you keep your good healing unit. Which is essenchal. C: I would also go Valkerie with Marable and reclass her again to sage. Going back to a stater class will delay her from being powerful enough with magic. D: For Chrom I would actually go Padalain. You keep Your high attack and Falchion but you dont get the resestence drop of a GK. For Lonqu I would go Assassan because of the high Skill stat. If your major advantage is Skill than An assassan will Crit of Lethality a good 60% of the time. (one of the two will come up) F: I assume you have luna by now but for the most part.... nope. Also congrats Radince.
  4. On the quest to beat all fire emblem games. Currentley at 2.5 down on PoR

  5. @Youshi: Huh, I said that? Well looks like I did so I will correct my stupidity. Use Sumia, she has a hard time starting out but an extra galeforce or a good falchion night is always powerful. Do watch out for warriors because the will almost always have a bow. Some with assassins and other bow using classes. @Solitare For sure. Two extra galeforces are great. Especially on Morgan who can't get it otherwise.
  6. I wouldn't use the initial cavaliers (stahl is ok if you find a good reason), Vaike, Sumia (just good enough for an adequate cynthea), Kellum or Ricken. They can still be good pair up units and while Ricken is good for counter Robin or Mirial should already outclass him. Kellum is easily gained up on and is nuked by a counter hit because of high damage, he is dual striked and has awful resistance. His defence virtue is lunad out too. Vaike is a good pair up with a +4 or higher in str (I would use Nowii because of the stat mods for Nah.) Marible isnt great but is redeamable. I always found her to difficult to grind and lissa or libra just was always better.
  7. I would generally use 2-4 pair ups. I commonly prefer 3. As Czar said it really depends of how well you know what you need to do for certain units. The archer corner trick is always good to farm exp on.
  8. Well A luna+ boss, Unlucky Crit or just having bad defensive gains can be bad. Or just a counter unit can kill you. I still havent done a -def unit so I havent tried too hard to test an OHKO. I think I did a +HP build but I dont remember now.
  9. ZeroArcaneus: Thats great. The game always seems to keep one upping you when you go from lunatic to luna+. Sure was a big shock to see how much harder they could make the game when I was awful on lunatic. I remember that moment when I first figured out chapter 3 when skipping lunch. (I still say that does not count as skipping sense it is lunch) Never avoid siting down and resetting the map to get a spot you can work with. And reinforcements are the worst thing that can happen in my opinion. Czar_Youshi: I never did a +spd robin on lunatic + because I was too afraid of being OHKOd by people on the first hit. I will need to try that after New mystery of the emblem. I agree and second everyting you said on the force and needing to use legendaries. Really is nice having supreme emblem isn't it.
  10. As there is a heal staff available in the shop of chapter 1, If you can just last until chapter 4 you should be good. I recommend using all the bonus box stats items on Robin. With +speed, Nagas tear and speedwings you will duel strike just about anything. At some point you might want to reclass to a drak mage, pegasus knight or another class to get skills. The early levels are good for this because they are not quite at full capacity yet.
  11. Yeah that was just about what I said. I said that I was like a game of russian roulette that has 5 bullets and one open instead of 1. I admit that I did way to much golden gaff and EXPonental growth. You should get all the renown awards if you haven't already for the stat boost items. Includeing a Nagas tear and boots that increase movement by 2.
  12. Hey no shame in DLC. I certainly abused it on my first go. Thats really lucky to get katrina's volt at that point. I was so sad when I got hectors axe and nobody could use it. I did go ape Sh*t with cecilia's gale though because I bought 4 from spotpass cecilia or some event tile weird thing. Don't really remember how that happened really. Anyway's may the contrived plot device be with you.
  13. Nice on you lunatic run Arcanius! Ive just done all of the paralogous on lunatic + except Priam's. I haven't played much because I bought a cartridge of Shadow dragon and the blade of light, printed out a translation guide and learned that the battery save is broken. :( I must beat the game because it is my nerdey quest to beat every fire emblem game made now. This is going to take a while. ( hits reset) Back to level 1 again.
  14. I found that they give weapon experience more often so I think so. I don't know for sure. That's great about those stats though. I didnt find it to be too much of an isue though because most of the items are C rank or higher so the wepon EXP isnt a bad thing.
  15. Well anyways... Ive been doing the spot pass parologues on lunatic + and I have done most of them. I have Walheat and Priam left. I know for Walheart's level I need lots of forged beast killers and preferably have the beastkillers have galeforce to take out many quick as well as stop reinforcements. However I am still having trouble with it. I am using sniper Chrom with a longbow so he can engage Walheart so I have that category filled but I was wondering if anybody had unit suggestions. Im also almost at caped out renown BTW.
  16. Im sorry, Im a terrible speller. Without spell check I would be completely incoherent. I fixed it though. I would direct you to my signature. I also spell it this way because it is how I spelled it normally. Lacking the a was a typo I just found when I spelled it right it was often taken.
  17. I ment regarding tonic use. That was you right?
  18. Well I needed to reset to get better level gains. I recommend you do the same. You shouldn't abuse fredrick because he gets sidelined to quickly. You can use him for some things though. So start over and soft reset levels. (yes I know you soft reset for levels AND counter concentrations)
  19. @Bindit The stage before Grima will give you an arms scroll, talisman and speedwing so I recommend there. And Hey good luck on the run. The first few levels are the hardest because you need to make sure you get a +spd every level and try to get to level 7 by chapter 4. GL! @Zog I agree with Czar_Yoshi that tonics are needed. DLC is great to train the strongest of your units but on an average solo Lost Bloodlines 3 (My normal training grounds) It costs about two to three weapons. Which can add up. None the less if you are at a high level it can get me up over 5 levels with a maxed stat charecter so the exp gain is great, Just be extra careful. Anyways the Tikis tear and Nagas tear are some of the best items for endgame levels or apeotheses. I recommend to use Tikis tear on Morgan because it bends the max stats too so you can still get the OHKO Grima trick (this is not mine I think it is Crazar's) Have morgan be a sorcerer, pair with level S laurent, Add tonics+Tikis tear, + rallybot, with a forged Waste. The same overpowered trick should be good on apeotheses. I haven't done that level yet but I plan to.
  20. Oh, I didn't know that DF supplied magic bonuses. I dont use much DLC so I was not aware of that. Than go with what Joth said.
  21. Freddy wouldn't help with nostanking at all because despite the good defence bonus he does not supply any magic boosts. When you do the lost bloodlines 3, you should do it latter in game and have two units sit in the one fort by the spawn and watch the exp flow. It is ridiculous how much EXP will just come to you. Only do this with a good unit with a magic weapon. Good to train a nostank. @Joth: Huh Never thought about dreadscrool fredy. I still second on dread fighter Chrom for later game though because freddy becomes a sideliner quickly, and Chrom is required in all levels.
  22. Well Congrats Zoron! @Zog: I normally do the galeforce path but with Chrom X Olivia you have access to both dark flier and Myrmidon. So you can still pass galeforce to Indigo. You should be able to get the two levels up so you are good with Sumia galeforce. Try to get as much EXP funneled into Olivea as possible because the next few chapters are obliterated by galeforce users. Especially chapter 13.
  23. I ment to say to get astra on Lucinda, which is accomplishable at certain points but I think you are passed availability by pass down. I think the way to get it is threw ChromXOlivia. AvatarXOlivia (I assume that that is what that means)is an interesting choice. Pass down galeforce and make sure to pass down a skill that is not achieved threw tactician because Morgan should enter as a tactician. Dont do Indigo's prologue until later though because the fortress area is extremely difficult until you have multiple long range galeforce users. @ Kuori : Yeah for my grima run I had Lucinda maining with chrom in back. I should have mentions that but that is why having many experienced people here is awesome. (Especially when they are better than me) Anyways with the reminder I recommend trying to get the duel strike+ ability by the end of the game and duel gard and support + would never hurt.
  24. I forgot about dragonskin. In which case I would give Morgan Astra. Chrom is a good dreadlord because he can still use the Exalted falchion and the resistance+10 as well as aggressor is good on Grima. You also should put astra on chrom because the onley thing that can hevlily damage grima is the falchions.
