  1. Enough to make me create an account for a video game series website that I'm not overly familiar with. The concept of the story speaks to me, as do many of the changes we've heard about so far, and it seems to keep a lot of things I loved from Awakening, so I expect great things. June can't get here soon enough.

However, I should add one thing. I don't know if this is the kind of site where you'll want to burn me alive for saying this but...the last trailer felt a bit too "anime-y" for me. The onii-chan-ing, the focus on fan service with both boob physics and upskirt shots, the "cute" voices and the over-designed armors damper my hype a little bit, but not by too much; they're not elements I can't ignore, although I might go deaf from all the supposed adorable voices.

  2. I know next to nothing about things like these, but I really think it's a mixed bag. The characters look different which is quite a big feat for a game with so many different units, the color schemes are generally pretty great, and the environmental designs are usually pretty appealing.

That said, I dislike the overly strange hairdos and colors, some of the armor designs are incredibly questionable, especially when it comes to the women. Some characters also feel incredibly over-designed, where you can't really decide where to look.

Also, the poses the women have in the official artworks are just...ugh. I enjoy a bit of power fantasy and fan service every now and again, but it feels so one-sided and wrong.

  3. They could be infinite-use weapons like Chrom's Falchion.

The bandits' weapons lack durability as well, hence why a lot of people assume the system has been removed.

Also, I love your signature or whatever you call it, but does Ace Attorney: Investigations really count? I mean, really? It should just be called "Miles Edgeworth and his friends who cheer him on as he uses basic logic".

  4. I really like people's suggestions for her character. As I just stated in the "waifu/husbando" thread, I really like her even though we've barely seen her, which is strange since I don't get the whole maid thing that's so popular with you young people these days.

We just had a fairly important character in Awakening whose most notable trait was his zealous loyalty, so if they could give Felicia a twist like you all mentioned, I'd greatly appreciate it.

  5. I love how this thread exists when we don't even know if S-ranks and marriage are returning.

While true, it's a likely possibility due to the popularity of the system in Fire Emblem: Awakening.

Also, for some reason, I really like Felicia, which is strange since I've never understood Japan's obsession with maids. Maybe this is how the corruption starts.

Well, either that or simply because pretty much everyone who has been shown to have some kind of importance in the story is a relative of yours in some way, and I don't swing that way.

  6. It would seem, by that logic, that Nintendo is probably going to release the "dual" version to the US, as Japan is used to the version split....whereas most people in the US aren't that much. Which is what I hope they do. Less moneys for me to spend :D

And of course, by that logic, there are no potential newcomers in Japan who aren't very used to the gaming industry. Besides, the fear of two versions here in the west has already deflated the hype quite a bit, which might be irreparable damage even if we get a version containing both sides.

  7. Part of me wonders if the Hoshido royals actually are his family, since even that side must have some sort of drama involved. Perhaps the (now-deceased?) father sought to use Kamui for his own ends just as Garon did. Heh, it would also make it easier to explain why they all look so different, but then again, we're in anime land, so I guess discussing things like hereditary hair colors is pointless.

Granted, that's probably not the case, and both stories will deal with themes like "what exactly is a family?".

Anyway, since Kamui has to have been kidnapped at a fairly young age, and Hinoka (is she confirmed to be his sister?) remembers him/her, she's probably older than him/her.

  8. My primary concern is that it'll alienate potential newcomers, either due to confusion or that it'll be seen as a rip-off regardless of arguments. Hell, I only picked up Fire Emblem: Awakening because I had heard it was pretty good; had there been two different versions, I might've picked some other game.

  9. I've always preferred when things are a bit morally gray. Fortunately, as it stands now, it seems like Garon is the only really evil one since I highly doubt Marx would question what he's up to if he, too, was on the baby kicking train.

As long as the two factions differ enough to warrant multiple playthroughs in terms of story as well as gameplay, I'll be satisfied.

  10. Not sure if it could be considered a feature, but I reckon something must be done about Galeforce, which felt more or less mandatory for the tougher DLC maps.

    More varied mission objectives.

I loved Awakening's support conversations as a whole, but some are really lacking; a simple fix would be to simply cut down on the quantity and focus on the quality. I don't want child characters for the same reason; while I liked the concept of breeding a perfect super soldier of destruction, I don't think I'd like more time travel nor a time skip. Besides, the fact that the fathers' support conversations were more or less straight up copied is pretty boring, even though I understand exactly why they did it, obviously.

And perhaps the most important one of them all: no voice acting or grunts every single time someone starts a new sentence! Dear lord, it doesn't matter how good the voice acting is if the same lines and groans are repeated over and over like that. Sadly, judging by the trailer, it seems like it'll be back.

  11. Sadly, yes. I'm a weak, weak man who can't resist the temptation of a potentially good story.

On the plus side, I speak some Japanese and own a Japanese 3DS, so I'll be able to play it for myself and get the gist of it; the only problem is that I'll have to choose my faction carefully since I'll be getting the eshop version.
