[Anyone else dislikes how Awakening overshadows these older games sometimes?]

Awakening is only the most recent game of the series. I don't think he overshadows others games because from what I have read here, previous fire emblems were much difficult than Awakening (except for Lunatic and Lunatic +).

[Possible mission objectives?]

Since Awakening was first fire emblem game, I noticed the lack of objectives in the chapters compare to the others games. Maybe for the hoshido side, we could have a mission when we need to destroy certains objectives ( the return of ballistas?) and for Nohr side , maybe a hostage mission? A mission when you need to destroy an escort of a unit and capture him and not kill him (of course XD).

[Theories of the 3rd route.]

I have an idea about the 3rd route, you remember the monster in the 2 trailers, ''Nosferatu''? At first, I thought he was an ally of the Nohr faction because Kamui seems to knew him in the second trailer but in the first trailer, Max killed a monster who looks like Nosferatu. I think Kamui will ignore the war between Hoshido and Nohr and he will recruit hiw own army against the monsters and maybe some units of both factions could be able to be recruit (Max for example). Of course, this just a theory of a beginner. I also don't mind others endings.
