To answer CloudLink's question on class changing; You only draw a card when you promote an unpromoted unit. That means that if you class change from an already promoted unit, then you won't draw a card; only when you've gone from Unpromoted to Promoted. Hope that helps!

I'd recommend getting one of each started deck, as there are things that are exclusive to the starter decks.

5 boxes should be fine to get at least 1 of each card, otherwise I've started up a trade/sale thread for people that are looking for cards that they're missing. Other than that, you can look in the Yahoo Auctions, and I'm sure cards will pop up on eBay eventually as well. (I saw a Marth SR and it was way overpriced though).

So, since the Fire Emblem Cipher TCG has officially released as of today, a lot of us will be either looking for some cards to finish off our decks/collections, or maybe there are some cards that we don't need and want to sell/trade them away. Basically, I'd say post what you're looking for and what you have for trade/sale, and then communicate via PMs on shipping, payment, etc. We can have a "ranking", where each time you have a successful trade or sale with a person, you give them +1; that way others can see who are the reliable sellers/traders. This ranking will simply be kept updated on the first post of this thread, so I'll be managing it. Obviously, if you trade with a person, you'll have to be comfortable with giving each other your addresses (by private messages, of course). So I decided to run through the FAQ on the Cipher website, and noted some of the more interesting questions and answers. There seems to be no order in which you choose to resolve skills that may activate at the same play timing, No limit on cards in hand, Both players can check all facedown bonds, including their opponent's, When you have 1 orb left and a specific skill has your opponent's attack destroy 2 orbs, you don't lose. When you class change; first draw a card, then resolve any skills. You can play a card and class change it on the same turn that it is played, You can class change over a class changed card, Reversed (flipped) bonds count to the total amount of bonds, but their symbols (Awakening/Shadow Dragon) don't, so basically you can't play any cards if all of your bonds are facedown. Marth cannot be supported by "Marth" Lucina, Gaius' "Assassinate" works on the Hero as well, A lot of cards that have skills that work when a card class changes don't work on the card itself (Henry, Robin; this might be a confusing one), If you happen to deck out upon successfully attacking with the Class Changed Lissa, you first shuffle back the deck and then resolve the skill; so basically, you can't add anything back to hand. If a support fails, then so does the support skill. That's about all I got from it for now!

From what I've seen from Japanese twitter users, they mainly just use the "Marth" Lucina as a Lord for their Shadow Dragon decks.

Welcome, Touya! :D For those that don't know; Touya's basically a reporter for (mainly) Japanese tournaments in Vanguard, so if we get the same kind of treatment for Cipher, we'll be able to keep up with all the decks currently topping in tournaments and all that. Edit: Looks like we got a class changed Sumia revealed as well! I decided to dig around on Twitter some more, and I found the foilings of some cards, along with a card we haven't even seen yet! FE: if/Fates card designs spoiled: Foils from both starter decks: And finally, there's this Marth promo that we haven't seen before. Sorry that it's such a long post; I personally don't know how to do the "spoiler" thing yet so that I could compress it all into one thing. Hope this is news to everyone!

Just a thing I was wondering; is it just my memory serving me poorly, or was it announced recently that we can go over 50 cards per deck? Made a tentative deck list for Awakening already, and ended up at 53 cards initially (although still cut down to 50), but just wondering for the future.

I like the template; just hope everything fits, since a lot of skills have shown to be longer than others... Also, on a side note; I'm planning to make an update video sometime next week since there's been a lot of news since the start of April. What do you guys think should be the most important things that I should include? EDIT: I also looked around and found some videos of people from Japanese card shops playing the Cipher TCG with proxy cards; looks quite fun to see it in action!

Sooooo good, although you will have to stall hard and refrain from using skills to get his full potential. Not to mention that the opponent might realize what you're scheming and refrain from calling units of cost <=2. Thanks for the translations, as always!

Ah right, nice! Then looks like buying 2 of a trial deck will secure you with 4 of most relevant cards; that's a very good move.

In reference to point 2... Does this mean that the only cards that come as 2-ofs in the trial decks will be the foil ones?

I'm down! Think it'll be one of the better ways to play against each other, to be honest.

Finally we know about the card limit! Had a feeling it'd be 4-of, so that's good.

Looks like today's card of the day is a Chrom promo that you can get at the "FE Cipher experience" events! So basically, we won't get them.
