  1. I feel as if there could be same sex couples AND children though. I mean the entire Nohr path is about the fact that your influenced more by the family that raised you than biological parents who had no part in your upbringing. And since there would most likely be a limited number of homosexual options for romance, these supports could be very specific to the characters that concern them; possibly being even more well written than the heterosexual ones if done properly.

And on the mechanic as a whole, I just wish they didn't do the whole time travel thing again. Alas, that is a different topic.

  2. you guys wanting to marry your siblings are disgusting. even if it's the nohr side, that's still gross.

i mean, think about it. they may not be blood related, but you grew up and thought of them as your brother or sister. and to marry your "brother" or "sister".... ummmm it's one think to say someone is pretty, beautiful, or handsome, but it's another to want to marry them

Na I don't think so. I mean are foster brothers/sisters who are attracted to each other gross? Granted, I can't speak from personal experience on this specifically but I think love is love. Especially since in this case, their children wouldn't be affected negatively (genetics). Also considering the circumstances of how the player gets into the Nohr family in the first place, I think it could be overlooked. Things get a little weird when you marry your friend's children from the future anyway so it's whatever at this point.

  3. I love how if someone gets called out for saying something utterly insensitive the automatic response they give is something like: "Whatever man I just like messing with you guys. You take it too seriously anyway." And then we've got people literally trying to compare the strife and inequality those in the LGBT community face with that of being an atheist. And let's not forget the "it adds nothing to the game" shtick. I'm a straight male and an atheist, and even I can see that when you've got a game that dedicates so many aspects of itself to relationships and romance, in 2015, in seems like almost a given that homosexuality should at the very least, be maturely and tastefully included in the game.

I'm black, and yea it would be great to play a black self insert, but Kamui's canon family is obviously Asian. Yes, i'm atheist, but it seems like everyone worships some dragon god or another. But (almost) everyone fucks. We have a freaking facerubbing mechanic! And Kamui can most likely romantically support with everyone of the opposite sex in the game, magically making anyone fall in love with him/her.

As said before, it is entirely possible for a Japanese gaming company to respectfully include homosexual romantic supports; especially when they've teased them in the past. And honestly I don't play fire emblem just for the strategy. It's fine if you do. But I genuinely like pairing up characters, planning out children's abilities, and roleplaying avatars. No one is forcing them to do anything by having a dialogue about what can be done differently; especially since bitching about Orochi being promiscuous and Camilla being unrealistically curvy is less likely to come under fire.

  4. I'm really hoping that Kamui can reclass like Robin did. It would freaking break my heart if I found out we were locked into dark prince/princess. However, I think it would be pretty cool if we could decide which weapons he/she could use if we are indeed class locked. Here's an interesting thought: what if we can reclass into anything AND all those classes get Dragonstone access as well?

  5. I think it would be great if there were LGBT characters in the game. However, I doubt there will be anyone who identifies as trans. As for gay or bisexual characters, I think there's a rather large possibility considering the fire emblem "amie" mechanic and lack of a need for children this time around.

Regarding their implementation, I have to admit I haven't seen many characters of the nature in JRPG's, let alone well written (Kanji Tatsumi). However, that isn't to say the possibility isn't there. In my opinion, games like Dragon Age Inquisition and Mass Effect have characters who are far from being singularly defined by their sexuality.

  6. 1. Dark Souls 2 (Got it maybe a week ago and fell in love. Praise the Sun!)
    2. Skyrim (PC Version of course. SOOO customizable. Maybe the only rpg I can see myself playing forever.)
    3. Fire Emblem Awakening (Everything I've ever liked about SRPG's in one game. The reason I got a 3ds honestly.)
    4. Dragon Age Inquisition (Sweetness. The Dragon Age series always manages to encapsulate me. Lurve the story and battle system.)
    5. Mass Effect 3 (Would say two/the whole series but I had waay more fun with the battle system in 3 than the others. Great end to a great story.)
    6. Fallout 3 (Amazing story and lore. Wildly creative and a testament to Bethesda's ability to immerse players into open worlds.)
    7. Dragon Age Origins (Made me fall in love with rpgs again and catalyzed my obsession with mage characters. Also, Morrigan.)
    8. Star Wars Knights of The Old Republic 2 (You. Can. Be. A. Jedi.)
    9. Pokemon Soul Silver (A remake of the best Pokemon game of all time.)
    10. Persona 4 (Yu Narukami = The Father, Son, and Holy Senpai)

  7. Name: Kyle

    Recruited: Paralogue 420 (ayy lmao)

    Starting Level: 10

Inventory: Aversa's Night (Level B in Tomes), Levin Sword (Level C in Swords)

Skills: Galeforce, Armsthrift, Avoid +10, Vantage, Shadow Gift

    Starting Class: Myrmidon

    Reclass: Dark Mage, Tactician

A Plegian former dark mage who has become estranged from his noble family of Sorcerers and Dark Fliers. Best friends with Tharja before she joins the Plegian military. He leaves the country without warning; which played a large part in her psychological downfall. After Ylisse's exalt's death, he distances himself from his status as a Plegian noble and becomes a sword for hire (albeit a notoriously bad one). Later, he runs into Tharja and the Shepherds while overwhelmed during a battle against looters/brigands/slavers/drug dealers (take your pick) and she convinces him to join the Shepherds to right his country's wrongs. He has quite a bit of Freudian parallels with Robin that include but aren't limited to: hitting on his friend's daughters from the future, an antagonistic father, and a tactics fetish. Also a super huge hippy pothead draft-dodger.

Supports: (S) Aversa, Tharja, Miriel, Severa, Olivia, Tiki, and Female Robin.

    (A) Male Robin, Brady, Chrom, Gaius, Frederick, Lucina (Friendzones the shit out of her.), and Ricken.

    Mods: -6 STR / +6 MAG / -1 SKL / +4 SPD / -4 LCK / +1 DEF / +3 RES

  8. I hope that marriages are in Fire Emblem if. However, instead of having super “back to the future” kids, why not make it so some marriages (especially for Kamui, Aqua, older bro/aniki, older sis/onee-san, other bro/nii-chan, and imouto/little sister) have significant political, military, and/or economic consequences? For Nohr in particular, since you’re apparently leading a revolution from within, I feel like you’ll need a web of alliances with various noble houses and other subfactions to be effective.

For example, Marx marries Lady XYZ of House Wyvrensomthing, an old and influential Nohrian noble family who controls some sort of knightly wyvren guard. This would grant you Lady XYZ and maybe an awesome retainer of hers, convince a significant portion of the “old guard” nobility to support you (perhaps at the chagrin of the lower nobility), and deny your political opponents from fielding wyvrens.

Another example: Lady Kamui marries a pirate queen. Sure, several nobles and some merchants find ties to such uncouth scallawags problematic, but you gain the support of a large network of smugglers and privateers. Benefits include access to pirate booty and the harassment of your rivals’ maritime supply and trade routes (which I guess should translate to crappier enemy infantry or something… maybe?).

    Etc etc

This is probably a bit too complicated for Fire Emblem, but I can dream can’t I?

This. In every way shape and form. It would be a great curve ball and would really emphasize the whole "choice" thing IS is trying to convice us of being in this game.

  9. Not really worth posting a new thread for this, I think, but here's something I missed:

    Nohrian siblings from Dengeki

Blurry, but slightly better look at the character artwork : )

    Linca (Oni) and Sakura (Priestess)

Hmmm. Looking at Linca, I think S supports may be coming back after all. In awakening I remember units blushing in the viewing screen if they were paired with their spouse.
