My only question is, do you think the extra modes will be as much contents as the adventure maps in HW, or are they notably shorter? Even without item grinding (which was bonk), each map had a ton of scenarios - I was hoping that would be the same here.
Also, how restrictive is character selection - ie, how often does the game force you in to someone?

I just wanted to say that while I will concede that while Ike may be overall more popular than Marth, he is not more famous than him. At this point Lucina may be getting close to Marth status of famousness (and is by now likely more popular), but Marth *is* Mr. FE, not Ike.

It's not the fact that I think the roster is unimportant, but how people can honestly have so few FE characters that get them excited? I'd have a lot of trouble just choosing a top 100 let alone a top 10. CYL was agony.

fight me20 stat caps are without a doubt my personal fave, and fatigue made 5 mix-it-up the game, and gave me a reason to keep using some of my favorite units, like Lifis, who had better options but needed a rest.
I get why people don't like that stuff, but hey, I do!

Just want to chip in and say, the longer I'm around Thracia, the more and more that I love it for it's weirdness. I love capturing, I love 20 stat caps, and I love fatigue & dismount.
I'm really really not fond of 4 (It's only beaten to the bottom of the barrel by 10), but 5 is in my top 3. Go figure. I also really liked Gaiden before it was hip for everything it did different, as well. I guess it's unpopular, but I really enjoy that FE keeps tinkering with stuff, because while some games may be a miss, others are really a hit, and that wouldn't happen with endless compromise across the series.
I love 3,5,6, Echoes, but I wouldn't want every game in the series to be like them, because I can always play them for their respective experiences. Show me what you got! Conquest was hella fun to play.

Considering how rare and obscure the game actually is (way less copies afoot than tellius, even if you count the DL cart), I'm pleased that Thracia made it halfway.
FE 3, 5, 6, 2/Echoes is where I throw my lot.

I think this is one thing I'm going to stay finely tuned in to.
I'm a day one buy, and I can't wait to play as Xander & Marth. I'd like to know if the roster is finalized at this point or not - Navarre being up in the air and whatnot. I still have nothing but hype for the game, I just haven't been posting much less I shrivel up like a slug in the salt mines.
I honestly can't wait!

Just from a quick glance at the cards, and even though I don't play, I could tell that these cards weren't no Julia/Nino/Lilina.... And it's Leif and Nanna, like no one's favorite lord or waifu (except maybe me). Generally, prices have only ever gone down once people get inventory.
If I could score two SR+ for around $50 I would be absolutely thrilled.

And yeah, I personally think that this is Altenna's best card (even better than her SR), but I would have liked to see more Thracia exclusive characters. Ced makes sense, but Altenna was a bit of a (good?) surprise.

I've always seen the cast of the very first map in FE history as incredibly iconic, so, to see all of those guys in the game would be a dream come true!

The sword argument hasn't been held up by the developers thus far, and the fact that you expect it to hold any water at this point (especially with Navarre, although likely a dual wielder, is another sword user) is silly.
Don't cry and make Ike fans look salty. I'm upset Roy hasn't been revealed, but I still have to go to work tomorrow and time keeps going. Chill out.

"Oh boy! RD is a brand new FE game, and I'm so excited to play it!" As a FE fan, I don't think I was ever so disappointed in a game I wanted to love, but couldn't. I think it was my first realization that just because it's from a series that I love, that it doesn't necessarily mean it would be good.
I was in the Jeigans are bad camp for a while, but then Marcus came along. And I'm talking about 6 Marcus, who is arguably the best designed Jeigan for being instrumental early on and falling off later when he's supposed to.
