The one downside to the upcoming chapters is there are a lot of action scenes that have the dreaded two-page spreads so I'm going to be very busy. :) I might have to ask our other cleaner to work on the normal pages while I tackle just the spreads for redrawing work, @Yoshi2398 - Manfloy is still sort of a sympathetic villain in that his entire life was fucked up just because of the bloodline he is descended from. It doesn't excuse any of his actions, but his hatred and dislike for everyone else and wanting to bring back Loptous is kind of understandable... everyone with Lopt blood was being killed, regardless of the nature of their character. Wanting to revive the Lopt Empire so his bloodline wouldn't be persecuted against any longer would be the sort of thing that looked desirable. Of course he's still a huge dick that ruined everyone else's lives and sunk to incredibly low levels to do so. Ah, but that's neither here nor there. I'm not sure how his backstory is portrayed in Oosawa's telling of the story, but she's definitely done a good job of keeping (or making) the conflicts often morally grey and explain why the antagonists would go to such awful lengths (yied massacre, battle of barhara, etc).

At least pretty soon the chapters will get smaller. 40 page chapters are difficult, especially when there are dual-page spreads included in them. As we said before, we're not unbinding the books out of choice, which means certain dual-page scenes take me much longer to re-draw. But yeah, it'll happen when it happens. We work on things when there's time to do so. Just be happy you don't have to wait years between chapters. =w=

Some characters also have instant-marriage conversations, like Fury and Levin. If they're not married to anyone by a certain point they'll automatically get married, which is nice because their son is a complete badass if you let them.

If I remember right you've been warned once already to chill a bit. I'm sure youmean well, but constantly asking for updates can be very exhausting for people. Jugdral Defender has listed a lot of the reasons but if you look at her post from the 21st you'd see that we haven't been able to make good typesetting progress for an entire week because of a hardware failure. Updates will happen when they happen. Thanks for understanding.

No one's really 'hyping' anything, just pointing out that it's possible to leave certain units in the dust and never be able to level them up if you're playing a title that doesn't have a lot of grinding options like Awakening does. Plus, I don't see why there should be any penalty to playing casual mode. Sure, I can beat a game on Classic mode and I most certainly have many times back before 12 came out but I honestly prefer not to these days. Locking another ending or maps or other content behind difficulty ranking would just be unfair to those of us who have jobs and other things in our life that prevent us from playing a lengthy amount every day.

I'd personally be very annoyed if a new Fire Emblem game locked endings behind difficulty level. I've been playing Fire Emblem for a long time but now I don't have as much disposable time to play video games anymore. Fire Emblem games are often long and challenging and I don't have the time to keep restarting a map when I lose a unit (something I used to do in the snes/gba days). I abuse save-states in older titles these days and ever since casual mode has been introduced that's how I choose to enjoy the game. I do up the difficulty to 'hard' mode so it's not too easy but if IS suddenly comes in and restricts what content I can access because I want to enjoy the game without having to reset the whole map. If they make a change that locks content then I at least want to see FE4's in-battle save feature return so I can save every other turn and reload from there rather than have to restart the entire map on classic. I don't believe there should be any 'penalty' to playing on Casual mode. Yes, it allows players to be more reckless with their units but the units also lose chances to gain EXP if you just use them as cannon fodder and it's still easy to back yourself against a wall because of that if you're not mindful (which is why Phoenix Mode is introduced in FE14, besides 14 being more difficult than 13 and 12.)

[spoiler=fe4]Well he was expecting her to turn back before they entered the desert since she had Altenna with her. Unfortunately she stuck with them. I think if she had turned back when originally agreed upon they might have stood a better chance but still ultimately have faced defeat there. But at least then Leaf might have grown up with at least one parent and Fin wouldn't be so horribly emotionally devastated.

I want to know how that convo went. intern 1: 'Well we could always put the protagonist and that silver haired wife' intern 2: 'no, what about these two blondes they look cute together' intern 1: 'alright yeah, why not?' NoJ rep: 'I probably shouldn't tell them'

[spoiler=FE4]Not to mention Trabant's forces were supplied with lances effective against mounted soldiers. This is actually mentioned in the dialogue so it's not just a mechanics thing. They had terrain and weapon advantage, especially since Gungnir was present to counter Gae Bolg, as well as Cuan probably having to spend most of the battle protecting his wife. Up until then such a great opportunity probably hadn't presented itself and under normal circumstances the Lance Ritter probably had multiple advantages in their skirmishes.

And with hilarious timing JD's computer monitor finally perished this morning. Fortunately us cleaners have the pages to already work on the next chapter but I guess finding our normal rhythm for this has been delayed a little longer. Oops! :)

Sometimes I swear the only thing we agree on is our Celice x Leaf shipping, fufufu~n. You might be a fan of Silessians but let's face it by the time we get that far it'll be well into winter and there's no way you'll make it this far up north without freezing~. I'll put this the rather polite way rather than the typical 'me' way of saying things (aka my normal bitter as fuck self): For a good portion of our team this is their first time working on any project. While I've done cleaning for scanlations before there's been a lot of learning going on. Once we get into the flow of things we'll probably pick up speed but mostly things lie within figuring out our own strengths and weaknesses. It's mostly just teaching people GIMP/Photoshop at this point. Our translation is having her fun running far ahead of us so the script is coming along nicely. :) ...wait, wait! ...!!!! I told you I don't want to date him! Too much baggage. No marriage, no date. Just... like maybe one or two good nights. ;)

Most people have a Japanese 3DS and are playing an import copy. That's what I'm doing as well~.

I think our scanner is rather determined to do it all herself, but thank you for offering! :) As it is we have volume 6 scanned and the rest is being worked on. She has the entire complete set. The rest is just getting our schedules together.

The incest doesn't bother me because it remains consensual. It might be squicky to some, but I don't think it's really wrong to tell two consenting people who they can or can't fall in love with. Especially when it was commonplace in royalty (and no one has to marry their sibling but it's nice to have the option). The face touching... I dunno, I might play around with it a few times because I'm a dirty woman but then I'll probably get bored of it. =3= I don't think I'll actually put anyone in a bathing suit or whatever except for the hot springs thing. The only fanservice that really bugs me is the blatant pandering to Awakening-only fans via certain characters. I just really, really wanted If to stand out on its own without having to pull this crap. Since those three units are recruited in Nohr by default I can't avoid them despite wanting to.

I really have no words for how disappointed I am in this. I was disappointed enough in them existing in the first place, I'm not sure if this revelation makes the whole thing better or worse. I'm leaning towards 'worse' because I can't see why these three who saved the world against Grima would work for Nohr. It just doesn't make sense. I can live with the rest of the stupid fanservice, but stuff like this that muddles the timelines via Outrealm Gate shenanigans for the sake of fanservice is seriously annoying. I didn't like Priam and I really don't like this. ...oh well. I guess I can always play classic and just let them die if it bugs me that much! =w=

A lot of the names in FE4 are indirect references to mythology. Which is why we wind up with official romanizations like Midayle and Tailto, or basically every place name in the actual game being a thinly veiled reference to something. The thing that kind of irks me about some translations is they decide to go with the direct name instead of the referenced name which makes it lose some of the fun of it being a reference (in my opinion). We all know Barhara is meant to reference Valhalla, but it's literally written on the map as 'Barhara' so why change it so much? I really enjoy all the mythological references though and I think it's more fun to leave them slightly ambiguous than to shove them in a person's face. :) Tailto/Tiltyu is one of those really odd names though like 'how the heck did they get this what am I supposed to do with this?'

Personally I felt the voices were excellent. The lipsynch was a little weird as is usual for localizations, but the voices themselves were pretty much spot-on. Very impressed with Aqua's singing voice. The main question is am I going to wind up buying each version of the game twice if they split the release for the west too? I'm totally prepared to buy 6x the normal amount of Fire Emblem but my wallet is going to cry (though I'm unsure if I'll buy Anya version. My Japanese is pretty rusty).

Well, once the scanner gets to her she can start scanning and stop just teasing us with her feels when flipping through it. ;) But yeah if anyone wants to help with the inevitable cleaning so I can skip straight to redrawing in combined panels that'd be a great help... not that I think I'd have too much trouble cleaning since in the past I've maintained a chapter/week page pretty easily, but more hands are always welcome.
