It would be easier if you went Fighter>Pirate>Berserker, as your MU is probably going to have much higher skill than the other Berserker you get in Darros (all the way at Chapter 12). Sure, you won't be able to reclass until Chapter 1, but there isn't much difference in Fighters and Pirates, but there is for Berserkers. Berserkers are faster than most of their WTA (except Falcoknights, but they're only a promo option for your Pegasus Knights). The only reason to choose Warrior is if you have some real problems dealing with Wyverns (and there is a good chance you will, or you might).

If I go Berserker, which past, present and future would you recommend?

Fighter is recommended mainly because axes are the worst represented weapon type early on; you get plenty of lance, sword and bow users, tomes aren't that high-demand until later, and the base clerics do staffs best. Barst is the first "good" axe user you get and he's a little behind when he joins without statboosters and a Pirate reclass. And while they're never in high demand themselves, axes are a very good weapon type early on since the only common sword enemies are Cavaliers, Thieves, and Astram's Hero squad. It also transitions beautifully into a Dracoknight reclass on promotion.

Oh. Of course, I'd need to beat the game on Hard mode, at least, to access the Dracoknight reclass as a Fighter, which is the problem. Besides, I don't think Warrior can be considered a good class to end up on. I mean, yes, you can use bows, but...

Anyway, how good are dracoknights in this game?

On what difficulty will you be playing? I know many experienced players recommend Fighter!MUs (even though I'm not really sure why) but Dracoknights are also amazing in this game so you might want to go for a class that belongs in set A, that is Cavalier-Mage-Curate-Myrmidon-Archer; in that case Cavalier is probably the best to build your Lance weapon rank and for the increased mobility. Personally I found the game plenty manageable back when I first played on the easiest difficulty with a Mage!MU (I find the mages in this game pretty underwhelming, but what do I know?)

I plan on playing in Normal, most likely. Also, I'm certain people prefer Fighter!MU because people think MU is the best axe user in the game. That, or because it grants you Pirate/Berserker as a reclass option.

I'm tempted to go with a Female Mage!MU because of Nosferatu, but I'm having second thoughts, hence the topic.

Pro tip: don't let your guys die.

Seriouslu tho, for the first one, let Fernand weaken the mages, perhaps with hit and run. Also, keep an eye on the generic units, 'cause they'll die easily. Don't care too much for the green units: the you get nothing by saving the soldiers, and Slayde will run away before he dies even if he gets attacked once or twice.

For the Claire and Mathilda one, use Mathilda to bait the terrors and whoever has the ring for the sorcerers. Keep in mind that you can swap their equit to let Clair recover 5 healt.

The other two are easy. Just be sure not to let the cavaliers sneak behind you in the last one.

Wait, so you get Fernand's lance by keeping your generics and not the ones with Slayde alive?

  5. Yes. Bows have Mt on par with Axes while being more accurate. This is balanced by them being unable to attack from close range (making them a predominantly player phase weapon). With point blank, that balance completely removed, leaving you with an accurate, high Mt weapon than can double from range (and up close) without any drawbacks. Essentially, a bow would become Raijinto/Siegfried without the stat boost

Hence why I talked about all-Takumi teams.

  6. Brace yourselves, all-Takumi teams are coming.

    That's my only thought.

depends whether people do want the DLC or not.

Ninja and Samurai are still the best talents if no DLC.

With the DLC, that includes Witch and Lodestar, right?

  7. Depends. I mean, if you're on Birthright, sure. But on Revelation, when it comes to characters in the Archer class, Takumi on his own can make do just fine. Although I might be the only one who thinks so: I mean, in the third path, the moment I got Ryoma, I benched Hinata and Hana, for example.

  8. It is part of Japanese culture, but not to the extreme it goes to in Fates. According to Google anyway

^this. To be fair, though, I'm pretty certain that in NA or Europe, you'd get arrested for harassment or assault if you were trying to do facepetting. The only reason why Pokemon got away with it is that Pokemons are essentially like actual pets. Sure, pets that spit burning hairballs or flood continents, but still.

  9. As a character, he's essentially the fantasy counterpart of the weeaboo or the otaku, at least. Granted, Azura was raised in Hoshido, but still...

As a unit, I only have an Einherjar of him as a Wolfssenger and I have yet to try him out. No, I have yet to pair Azura with anyone: child units aren't canon, anyway.

  10. I actually prefer Felicia. Jacob's problem is that Butler is not his best class, and he's outclassed by others in the cast (Xander, Dwyer with the appropriate mom, etc.) at the classes he's actually good at. His best use is to reclass to a +MOV pair-up class, be Corrin's backpack, and never do anything else ever.

Felicia, on the other hand, with a quick reclass to Strategist, leaves me with very little reason to use Sakura or Elise (which makes me sad, because the other little sister and best little sister deserve to be loved). It's very unlikely she'll ever be a competent combatant (though RNGesus loved me during my first playthrough of the game, and had her slaughtering everything), but at least you can argue it is her best class due to growths.

Flora's too busy setting herself on fire waiting until you've already got a powerful core group to even be relevant to the discussion.

Meanwhile, you need DLC to let Felicia use dragon veins, so Sakura and Elise would still be required.

  11. Well, okay, it's more of a reskin of the Butler/Maid class, but still. It's mostly based on the Pathfinder Inquisitor, since they're proficient in daggers and are essentially clerics as rogues.

    Inquisitor

Nohrian. A zealot who uses daggers to fight and heals with staves.

Mechanically, it works like the Maid/Butler classes, since it does have B-rank in daggers and S-rank in staves.

-Blessing: works like Live to Serve

    -Tomebreaker

Of course, we'd need a unisex version of the Demoiselle/Gentilhomme skills for the Troubadour, so I thought of this, instead:

Crusader : All adjacent allied units have +2 in defense and take -2 less damage.

Unless you have a better idea for a unisex version of Demoiselle/Gentilhomme or a better name, lemme know.
