  1. HveĆ°rungr was a Nohrian Noble for the majority of my first run in Conquest. I actually dont like that class. That run, i dorked up real bad and made his talent Outlaw for reasons im uncertain of. (it was supposed to be Mage.) I reclassed him to Paladin for the skills and he finished Conquest like that. Since im kinda redoing that run (with a different, possibly more 'canon' spouse), his talent is Mage. Hes gonna rock Sorc soon for Vengeance.

    Miyuki in Birthright, was a Sky Warrior. She ended up reclassing to Pally too for Yato use at endgame. In Revelation, she was Dark Falcon and finished the game with Swordmaster.

    If they made the Yato a shapeshifting weapon, I would honestly try out to play as a Sorcerer. But if I want to go wizard and have access to the Yato for endgame, I would have to go either Grandmaster or Dark Knight.

  2. Would getting Takumi reclassed into a Bow Knight be a good idea until either the Ballistician class or the Point Blank skill item hits the Dragon's Gate?

    I mean, if I get Takumi to A+ with my Corn, he'll get my talent (Mercenary), right? That way, I'll get the first three Archer/Sniper skills for him and then reclass him into Bow Knight.

    That, and originally, samurai were mounted bowmen until the Meiji Restoration, so...

  3. Right now, my unit is a Nohr Noble. On Revelations though, I'll go Mercenary.

    Why? Simple:

    1. Yato kinda pushes you to use swords;
    2. Vanguard kinda sucks, unfortunately;
    3. Hero has been used as the Lord-like class before;
    4. You can't go wrong with all-rounders.
  4. Elise is pretty much the generic cute little sister anime stereotype and she's always so happy it's unrealistic and kind of annoying. Shit, in Revelation there's even a cgi scene of her basically humping your leg, it's ridiculous.

    Sakura's not particularly great as a character, but she does have more to her than Elise. Like, she's shy but she's not a doormat and in Conquest, even though she still loves Corrin, she's not willing to put up with him invading her country and will actually fight against him. I do have a bit of a soft spot for gentle characters with a steel will.

    Also is it just me or do people really seem to hate shyness. A lot of the complaints about Sakura being boring seem to be related to her being shy whereas Elise is liked because she's energetic. Is shyness really a bad quality and why? I don't get it.

    Cultural differences, I guess. And maybe misinterpreting shyness as being antisocial, dunno.

  5. Elise.

    I mean, IIRC, I've read somewhere on Reddit that Sakura gets outclassed hard by your butler/maid when it comes to healing, compared to Elise. Also, since the new triangle has magic beat bows and that you can get up close and personal with a tome while bows require you to be at a range of 2 (unless you have Point Blank, a magic bow or the ballistician, which Sakura won't find of much use, Takumi, on the other hand...), Elise is the best sister.

    Basically, magical girls > shrine maidens.

  6. As a unit? Dunno. I'd say Dwyer because he's kinda only effective on MyCastle stuff.

    As a character? Rhajat. She's a yandere who is born from the most arrogant brat you'll ever get. Think. Why is Hayato usually the first in polls that ask which guy is the most likely to die alone, assuming you don't pair your Corn with a Corrinsexual?

  7. This. People keep talking about how Hosh noble is a better tank due to better physical defense but Conquest gives you so many tools to have free durability, not to mention that you get all of the stat bonuses in revelations. It just feels preferable to be able to cheese someone at a distance or retaliate on enemy phase.

    That isn't to say that magic is perfect. Ninjas wreck your day and ofc magic counter, but having weaknesses doesn't make it inferior. I mean Hosh Noble only has throwing swords as ranged combat and those things not only can't double but make You easier to be doubled.

    Plus, magic horses not only gives you 3 speed, but also makes up for Nohr nobles lower skill and -3 damage taken on a D rank scroll. Combine with Yato and maybe your maid/Butler for 9-10 damage reduced.

    ^this. Also, magic weapons (ex.: Levin Sword) lower your avoidance rate. Meaning that if you're a pure melee fighter, if you want to attack from range, you will either get doubled or be more likely to get hit.

    Magic isn't underwhelming because it's a useless stat or it's been significantly nerfed. It's underwhelming because it is overshadowed by the buffed-up Bow and it's physical version Shuriken. Is it still useful and relevant? Hell~Yeah, I don't know how many times the magic stat help me a lot against Generals and Berserkers. It's definitely not weak. In the hands of the right player and the RNG level ups, it can cut off a huge chunk of defense.

    Bringing Calamity Gate might help out against the dagger/shuriken users.

  8. Well, don't dragonstones prevent you from any skills that rely on percentages? That's a risky gamble. Most of the time I use Samurai/Swordmaster or Mercenary/Hero for a secondary class since I'll want to defeat as many targets as possible before getting killed or I want to remain alive which being a Hero(ine) helps.

    Vantage + Sol + Dragon Fang + Counter + (whatever that skill was that increases your skill activations by 10%) on Corrin does wonders for survival. It does for my Male Corrin since as a Swordmaster with +Spd/-Mag it doesn't backfire much. It still gives me some problems but most threats don't last long.

    What boon and bane do you use for your Hero?

  9. Str+/Lck- Samurai. Since Str+ Corrin's speed isn't anything you could boast about, reclassing her to samurai and adding speed makes a really scary Corrin. Then reclass into Hoshido Noble after SwordFaire for the defense and you have a powerhouse Corrin. Ninja would probably work better for this but you'll probably see a more stronger Corrin than a faster one with this route.

    Mag+/Lck- Diviner Corrin is great for magic Corrin too. Although you miss out on Yato bonuses unless you reclass into Dark Knight from A rank with leo, nyx, or odin. If you decide to go Dark Knight class you need someone with support bonuses that are heavily on speed like Adventurer, Elite Ninja, or Falcon Knight. Or you could go Spd+/Lck- for a more well rounded magic Corrin, as long as your pair-up bonuses increase magic, classes like Sorcerer, Strategist, and Onmyoji do well.

    Or Grandmaster, but that's for next week.

  10. The only thing I see Mag for on a Nina is the Flame Shuriken that can't crit or proc skills for said Ninja using it. Felicia has more use for that thing since her magic growth is higher than her strength growth. That and your main Ninjas in-game have low magic growths that make you wonder why they even have a magic stat.

    Saizo says hi.

  11. The variety in character design is something I've always loved about Fire Emblem, and Kozaki's work in Fates and Awakening is no exception... I think Fates has some of the best in terms of overall variety and character that's told purely through visuals, especially for the women and especially especially in Hoshido. Oboro, Setsuna, and Orochi all have such distinctive faces, and buff-as-hell Rinkah is hard not to admire for her pure rippedness.

    I think overall I like Oboro the best in terms of design, her expressions are great and my eye likes her complimentary colors.

    Also, Arthur. How can you not love Captain America

    Yet Rinkah has a weaker Strength growth than even Sakura. Hence the painted-on abs joke. Sure, it's only a 5% difference, but still.
