  1. Oh, Resistance isn't too much of an important factor considering this is FE6, where many units have lower Resistance, the only troubles are going to be the Berserk staff fest and getting Bolting zapped.

Bolting-zapping was what I used to do to enemies =P

The first time I play the game, I actually killed Zephiel with Lilina's Bolting from outside the room. That poor king doesn't even know what got him.

And yea, my take on Lilina would be: she's a typical mag/luk/res magic user (the anima counterpart of Sophia and Ellen, so to speak) and she might not be as good as the green-haired twins (mag/skl/spd) because speed is generally more important in FE6. I'd normally take 5~6 magic units to final though, because FE6 enemies are that bad at res.

Bottom line: if it's a magic unit, it's probably worth using. (You can't possibly fail with most units anyway, save for a few.) The rest would be up to personal preference.

  2. I've been thinking of changing stat caps to make classes more balanced (for example, Micaiah's stat cap total is higher than most other units) and have characters like Tormod to be actually useable.

I want to edit the weapon data and such so that weapons actually look like themselves. I think axes are overrated this time, and swords are nerfed too much. And this game does thunder magic no justiuce.

Now I just need to actually grab the needed tools and open the file. (As of now, I've no idea where to get the tools.)

  3. Lol no, I think he means characters can change sexuality (or even gender in some cases) in different language versions. Happens to a lot of games or other kinds of media.

Although Birdo is always female in Japan and transexual in overseas version at first, IIRC. In recent Mario games, though, they tend to simply adopt "gender uncertain" for all versions.

Kyza dresses formally. That explains nothing about his sexuality.

  4. I forgot to recruit Lugh.

    Start a new game.

Well, to me, he's my favourite character. In all of my playthroughs, he'll reach Lv 40 before Roy's still panicking about not reaching Lv 20 before force-promote time.

My final team is pretty much a team with tons of mages. Plus a whimpy, barely-made-the-cut Roy.

    On my "reply" page:

    Replying to Shit.

    LOL

  5. "Atashi"? Not even "watashi"?

That's overshot formal speech and well into canon gay territory, even without being so FABULOUS.

That's right. At one point when he and Lyre was fighting for Ranulf, he even said this:

    ライ隊長の愛は

    あたしのものよ!

    (Captain Ranulf's love is mine!)

(see full script here at Kawaki Chatei)

  6. I play the Japanese version (which I think is not as good as the localised version in terms of gameplay) and I'll talk about the Japanese version here.

    Serenes Herons

In the class description and glossary, the references to Reyson, Rafiel, Leanne and Lillia being the #th prince/princess of Serenes was removed. For those interested, Rafiel was the first prince, Reyson the third prince, Leanne the fourth princess and Lillia the third princess.

I think Lillia's description is a typo. Lillia has been referred to Reyson's older sister, and I think she should be the 2nd princess and they don't seem to follow the Japanese way of sibling age rank numbering (which separates sons and daughters).

Adding in the fact that they stopped wondering if there is anyone else from the family available after the three met, my take is that there's really only just four siblings.

    Hero of the Blue Flames

This was Ike's ending title in the Japanese version, which I think appeared in the "Fin" image. It's kind of sad the main hero didn't get a title for himself in the end, especially one that tied up with the main theme of the two Tellius games.

The first time you play the game, Ike's title did not appear like everyone else's (his part showed merely "Ike" at first). But it was shown in the text along with the "Fin" image.

  7. (Hmm. so I finally started some modding-related reply)

....Whoa. It doesn't seem to be as easy to find as locating binary data in the GBA games. For GBA / SNES, all I did was to use the character stats to find the data I need (usually starting stats / stat additions; they don't tenr to repeat) and directly change them.

Also, the weapon ranks are actually pointers this time? Sounds inconvenient...

Is there any chance to expand these data? i.e. introduce more classes, more names / descriptions / pre-defined weapon ranks / etc? (Ideally, I want to see everyone having their own class, since a lot of cases in FE10 have characters with growths not matching stat scaps)

To be honest, I have yet to get my hands on these stuff (don't even have the disc image at hand), but there is so much in FE10 I want to change that I'd like to look into these sort of data. (For example, the wrong weapon ranks in Sword General SP, and I want to even out the stat caps of each class. I also want to cut characterters like Dheg down a bit since I'm having trouble with his 50 Defense right now in my actual Wii playthorugh.)

Oh yeah. How to edit the characters' starting items?

  8. Heather, on the other hand, is about as straight as your average circle.

    I laughed at this.

Kyza is effeminate, that much is true. Whether he and/or Lyre actually love Ranulf, that I'm not sure. I think they're more like "vie for attention" than having any sort of actual feeling to him.

And as for if Kyza is homosexual, the game never tells. It's almost like a default "yes" to the fans, lol.

Little trivia: In the Japanese version, Kyza uses "atashi" as his first person pronoun.

  9. Trade-equip is a useful thing to do. I use that quite often, mostly to unequip my units to prevent them from wasting valuable weapons after using them the first time.

Before FE10, I bring multiple staff units just because of the said question here.

  10. First reply (besides the intro topic) yay!

    Win:

1st playthrough. In that lava-ish stage, Ross got petrified. Then monsters of all sorts surround him, only to deal lots of NO DAMAGE.

Also in 1st playthrough, I sent Colm and Neimi to fight along the single space wide area down to the bottom, and at one point Neimi was seriously hurt (well, being an archer...) and Colm managed to handle what's coming at him, with his speed half reduced.

    Fail:

Fighting all the way to the last level of the ruins and forgetting to bring keys / thieves for the final treasure (which you can sell for some good amount of gold).

  11. Um.... hi there. I just posted at the guestbook before.

I'm here to ask some question later regarding FE10 modding. I'll post details later since it is late here.

Umm... don't have much to introduce, actually. That... I'm into later FE games (mostly 6, 8 and 10) but am not entirely satisfied with the stats and other numerical data (example: due to Intelligent System's unintelligent overlooking, disciple sword generals use axes better than swords), and therefore would like to find ways to edit the games.
