  1. this

    Tana is consistently good. In fe8, availability is no longer a valid concern due to how easy it is to abuse the tower of vani. Not to mention Tana's superior speed and that 10% extra plays a huge deal because she can wield the legendary spear far better than Vanessa could ever dream of doing.

    Tana > vanessa

    RNG is really easy to rig, friend. Not that I do that

    You're still throwing away a unit that's already pretty good (if you've used Vanessa at all) for one that might not be. True, what's life without a little risk, but still. Also, slightly lower strength isn't quite as much of a problem, due to Vanessa having the ability to get Wyvern Knight and in turn Pierce. Also, slightly lower strength doesn't matter for the spear. They both have crap defense, so they both need that, and strength won't help either of them to heft it.

    In my playthrough, I used all three Pegs. Personally, I think its more fun to use all three rather than bench one and use only one. You know. Because triangle attacks are AWESOME!

  2. I just want to have a live tab on Moniker's sanity level. We'll just have a starting total and see how far it dwindles by the end of the LP.

    Someone needs to make an FE hack where Moniker has to fight horrible hacks that lower his sanity (hp). He heals by playing (read: using) good hacks, and attacks by making posts on SF. The boss of the map is GhebFE. Kinda like those ragefest submissions that make MarkyJoe the main character, except, obviously, with Moniker-as-Saleh as the main character. Anyone else have any ideas?

  3. About the whole animation thing, I think I said this at the start of the LP but Judith uses a (awesome) modified Hector animation, which starts with an uppercut and then does a downward smash.

    Apparently not. My mistake.

    Nah this is all my bad. Should've given this hack more credit and assumed when Monkier said "uppercut" that Judith used a custom animation.

    dem generic soldier spoiler descriptions yo

  4. "writing"? I can't criticize the writing in this hack, because there's nothing for me to criticize. This hack doesn't have writing, just an amalgamation of crass jokes.

    Ok you got me there. However, there is value in seeing where things went wrong (read: EVERYWHERE). And look on the bright side: since Gheb is crap, you can watch him die. A LOT. It's not much, but its something.

    that chapter title though *shudders*

  5. just remember everyone that voted yes, don't call it a grave, its the future you chose, thankfully i'm here to make it doable, and to explain the backstory of all the "jokes" and the hack's background, which i will do after Monkier posts the prologue stuff.

    FIFY. Seriously though, It'll be good to have someone around who can make sence of this.

    Ugh reading this makes me want to play through Sacred Stones just to stab Gheb in the face. Seriously, the weapon names made me actually facedesk.

    Moniker, hopefully you can help further make this hack into an example of how NOT to write for a hack.

  6. Honestly, I tear up whenever I complete a game I got REALLY into. Less so if there's a lot to do in the aftergame but yeah. Specific examples include

    [spoiler=Shovel Knight]

    I cried my eyes out when Shield Knight curls up beside Shovel Knight in the ending. Tears of joy, but all the things before it made it seem like she wasn't coming back.

    [spoiler=Persona 3 (info dump, seriously spoilers)]

    DEAR GOD SO MANY THINGS. Highlights include Shinjiro's fate, Akihiko's reaction to that fate (i.e. also crying), Aigis in the bad ending, and the deep, and your main character dying with a smile as they sit in Aigis' lap, with Aigis oblivious to his passing and solumnly swearing to protect him forever. AND THEN THE CREDITS SONG. It sounds cheery, but the actual lyrics (in japanese) translate out to be a song about moving on after the death of a loved one...It kinda broke me for the rest of the day. Not to mention Akinari, aka the Sun Social link.

    [spoiler=Persona 4(srs spoilers)]

    Nanako's (temporary, but that doesn't lessen the impact) death. Also, before that, Nanako's dungeon, Heaven, is quite possibly the saddest one in the game, backed by the saddest dungeon theme in the game And the sad departure from Inaba at the end is pretty heartwrenching, what with all the friends youve met over the year chasing after your train to say goodbyes, but at least we know because of Persona 4 Arena that they meet again. Any scene involving Mystery Food X

    These three stick out for sure.

  7. Gwyllgi's (what's with that name)

    "The gwyllgi is a mythical dog from Wales that appears as a frightful apparition of a mastiff with baleful breath and blazing red eyes.

    It is often referred to as "The Dog of Darkness" or "The Black Hound of Destiny"the apparition's favourite haunt being lonely roads at night." -The entire Wikipedia article (take with a grain of salt because Wikipedia?)

    Well that explains it. I think IS might have actually missed a chance to give these dogs a ranged attack with that "baleful breath" thing.

    The more you know. :Wales:

  8. So i'm trying to play this hack, but everytime I patch the clean FireRed gba rom using LunarIPS, the game freezes the moment the star goes on the screen in the intro. Has anyone else run into this problem, and how can i fix it? Its not the emulatior (i think) because ive tried several emulators. I really want to play this hack ;~;

  9. Similar to LordTaco42, I did Priam's Paralouge using only Chrom, King Marth and Prince Marth, just to see if King Marth, when paired up with Prince Marth, could solo the whole map (I believe he had 2 brave swords and the Exalted Falchion, while prince had the regular Falchion. Chrom was just kinda hanging out on the bottom of the map.

    He could do it on Normal. Ive yet to check hard or Lunatic (I kinda doubt he can do it alone on lunatic though). Sol OP.

    Edit: Fixed spelling mistake

  10. I didn't even realize I hated it myself until I recently started playing Hector Normal Mode and got to this chapter. I suppose thats why I hate it so much, because I now associate it with Fog of War. Also because it's ear grating. Thats importiant too.

  11. Shadow Approaches. It's like a drill to my brain. I don't even know what I hate about it, but it just hurts to listen to it. I think a better theme for chapters that need a dark track would be Nergal's Wrath, it's less death to my ears. Feel free to disagree or give a different suggestion if you please :)

  12. Personally, I LOVE chapter 10 of Awakening, not so much from a gameplay perspective, but because of the circumstances surrounding it. After the events of the previous chapter emotions are high, both on the Shepards' side and on the Plegian side. The rain, the music, the dusty hills, they all just radiate this feeling of tragedy. And while the envrionment isn't as visually beautiful as, say, Chapter 24, it's the atmosphere and how it all comes together that really sells this chapter for me.

    I just kinda wish that the characters didn't say their sometimes cheesy victory lines after a battle. Kinda breaks the atmosphere in some cases.

    Also Paralouge 23 because it really feels like you're clashing to armies together (Although Wireless King Marth can practically solo the whole thing, at least on normal :P).
