  1. From my experience in terms of random pickups (foodstuffs, forging items etc.) here’s where you should look. The characters’ rooms and the library will occasionally have books that increase professor level but nothing else. Owl Feathers can appear randomly I think anywhere but stop after the timeskip (as do the books) Lost item locations are always the same and they’ll be at the area where the character was standing the previous month. The rest only appear in crates/barrels/other specific areas around the monastery, so especially post timeskip, I generally go outside in this order: Dorms (just the crates and barrels on the outside and near the stairs) Greenhouse (on either side of the back) Fishing pond (crates/barrels/merchant stand) Marketplace (all stand areas) The outside areas around the entrance/dining hall (crates/barrels) The dining hall (cabinets by the serving area) The well outside the cathedral (to the left when you enter it) Generally, you won’t find anything else anywhere otherwise. If anyone’s found stuff elsewhere obviously feel free to correct me.
  2. My first play through Shamir I think went 6-8 straight levels with only 1 or 2 growths total, plus 2 0-fers. If I didn’t go online I would’ve figured all the knights were Jeigans from there on out.
  3. Argh, figured that was the case due to the possibility of Rhea de-quipping it for Magic in CF. Weird that El has it in her inventory, but not as weird as Seteth inexplicably having Faith Lv 5 or Ferdinand/Lorenz ditching their abilities from earlier.
  4. Something I crazily only just noticed on BL... Is it possible to steal the Sword of Seiros from Edelgard in Chapter 17? If yes and anyone has, how viable/good is it?
  5. The close allies list is pretty accurate and I believe even if it’s a visible A+ vs an A won’t affect the order. My first play through I think I had Linhardt A+ with Edelgard but they wound up with Caspar and Dorothea respectively.
  6. I agree so long as it’s a new path. That’s where the confusion is (regarding what Abyss is and how the new ones will be implemented) Them being playable in any of the 4 routes as constructed would be ludicrous in my mind. I’m interested to see how it plays regardless as I don’t particularly care either way, bonus content is bonus content.
  7. Re: rant above I know this isn’t true but I’ve had enough moments like these where I wonder if hit rate/avoid abilities aren’t shown in the forecast percentages. I don’t think they would if someone gets knocked into Deviant Avo mid fight but yeah I’ve had bad luck (on all difficulties FWIW)
  8. Considering a good amount of people across all platforms are against a “Golden” route due to it sullying the story, I do find it funny that several are also salty about no playable Jeralt/Rhea/Sothis when making them so would likely also sully the story via screwing with their roles. Im interested in what Abyss and the other content brings about regardless. I think the confusion is from what/when infernal difficulty is/comes out because Abyss sounds like it would be Apotheosis (at first to me)
  9. Killed her due to Byleth being preoccupied with Shamir/Seteth’s side. Felt bad but not nearly as bad killing Mercedes or Raph on Blue Lions. Those two were just oof.
  10. I don’t think are “canon” recruitments per se but I do find it interesting that there is no overlap of the lords’ “outside-house supports”: Edelgard: Lysithea/Hanneman/Manuela Dimitri: Raphael/Marianne/Catherine/Alois/Gilbert Claude: Petra/Annette/Ingrid/Shamir/Cyril Shamir does support Hubert and Dedue as well, but still I thought it was a nice touch if intentional.
  11. Only auto-join post timeskip is Gilbert on Blue Lions. Anyone else must be recruited. Technically Seteth joins automatically on the last pre-timeskip chapter unless you choose to (spoiler)
  12. Slightly off topic but not threadworthy. This extra renown from completed play throughs still shows up even if were in the middle of a NG+ run before the update. Checked my statues and suddenly realized I had 10000+ renown for “no reason” and just finished em right there. Didn’t bother getting the last stages because I wanted to spend it on other stuff but now it doesn’t matter lol.
  13. That’s at least fine. If he was actively chasing you we’d be screwed. Chapter 6 he’s in a room and chapter 8 he’s a good distance away anyway.
  14. I was just gonna say, 10000 renown from the start is ludicrously generous if you’re after difficulty (unless acquisition costs are higher) but much more fun for customization. Probably with one exception I’ll stick to standard NG for difficulty runs.
  15. It looks like a pretty sizable jump so I’d say it depends on how much you trust yourself. There are a quite a few new gameplay features you may want to experiment with but the fundamentals of the game are still there.
  16. I was gonna say we’ve only hit Awakening territory if we have to reload the chapter due to RNG ability loadouts. And even then that was Lunatic+. Although I’ve always considered “just make the enemies frustratingly deadly” the lazy way of increasing difficulty, I’ve never quite come up with a true alternative that doesn’t make things tedious or change the fundamental strategy of the game. It’s not like everyone’s packing Commander/Counterattack etc. it seems so it doesn’t look overtly cheap right now.
  17. Loving what I’m hearing so far. Can anyone confirm if this stuff was present in the data mines version? I do wonder if they were watching players’ styles and complaints to tailor against it before releasing it as some were theorizing.
  18. Infernal is supposed to be the other difficulty. I’m midway through a BL run farming abilities for NG+ so I won’t start immediately, but as I said in another thread, I’ll be curious to see if the Defiant abilities, Vantage, Desperation, etc. rise up the tier list with the enemies probably hitting harder and more often.
  19. I’d go Marianne in that situation as it seems she’d make the most of it. As long as she’s not one of your “primary” units (I.e. you don’t need her to take much actions besides dancing)
  20. Depends on if you plan on using the class or not. If you are, I’d give it to whoever you’re using the least. Otherwise give it to a sword user so they get the Sword Avoid +20 ability and the Sword Dance combat art. You could also pick someone with the lowest charm (in this case Annette) as practice gives them a free permanent +5 boost.
  21. Not to derail the topic, but I do wonder how much if it all the difficulty spike will the increase the usage of Vantage, Desperation, the Defiant abilities, etc. Right now the Battalion editions are clearly superior because they’re easier to abuse, and they’ll never surpass the Blow abilities, but I do wonder if the gap closes more.
  22. Whoops, misinterpreted. Battle supports from my experience still work best in that regard.
  23. Gift spamming trumps all (once the merchants unlock) but I do believe battles raise faster than meals/choir practice, especially if you use them as adjutants. Don’t know for sure though.
  24. Yeah, I was surprised as well. Two essentially the same wiki sites is just confusing. Here is much more organized though, thankfully.
  25. True, it’ll depend on how heavily enemy resistance increases. Hubert hits pretty damn hard due to his growths and since Dark Bishop packs Fiendish Blow by default, but only time will tell.
