I apologize to you as well, I may have taken a point or two too far and was rude/mean when I didn't intend to be and sorry to crimknight I came off very hostile and downright unpleasant.

I'm glad as well, you were proven wrong to begin with (assuming many things like I haven't played por or rd) and now you can't save yourself so you act like this, might want to change your avatar again to protect your dignity. now to finally set that petty issue of yours aside, the book hasn't been getting stellar reviews by amazon.jp users, has it been known why? was it because the book lacked content from earlier games? that's what I think anyways.

I do and even if I haven't played the japanese only games, I know of their story and background to an extent, he may have created the series but I don't like what he did and the fact that he tried to copy and paste the series, that doesn't make him all that, I would love shouzou's work and ideas to have been in the book as well, I'm sure everyone does, I want to know as much as possible about this series and I'm a huge fan of the entire series, again don't assume. yes I liked awakening, it wasn't my favorite and I wouldn't say I'm a fan but I liked it and don't mind if other people got into the series because of it. you're an elitist and you don't like something? that's fine with me but don't be so pompous and think you won't get hate for being a jerk with your opinion, I'm pretty sure if I said kaga sucks in what style ranger-whatever said I'd get hate for it too, "what kind of fire emblem book doesn't feature kaga? a good one" I don't see what gamefaqs and reddit have to do with this because I honestly didn't understand everything you said about smash bros as I haven't played the games or visited such forums, it just seems to me you were desperate to back your opinion. I don't want this to drag on anymore simply for the sake of filling this topic with this discussion otherwise I don't mind. EDIT" also these forums are english correct? so I don't see anything wrong with not playing anything pre-FE7 and only playing the western games, you can play the entire series or just the english games but don't expect to be a special snowflake just because you played the ones that were never released in english.

I'm sorry I just find it very annoying that someone who doesn't like something goes into that thread just to say "thiz z bad", you can disagree but don't be such a jerk about it, you can say something decent that is disagreeable without having people hate you for it, something like "I find it so disappointing that there isn't anything about kaga's work on the series but welp" nothing about personal attacks there. good for you and all that jazz but just because you don't like something doesn't mean its "a crappy celebration", you don't see me going in other threads and saying that something is bad and just to show everyone that I hate it and I don't see awakening fans going into jugdral threads saying they hate it, its usually the other way around, not everyone is a hardcore elitist who played every game in the entire series including the japanese only ones. and read my entire post before you respond, I'm a fan of all western released games, how ironic since you said awakening fans had knee jerk reactions. that seems like one to me. why are kaga fans acting like mindless drones about him? he's the one who copied the series into tearring saga and tried to rip it off, I love the guy for being involved in the early series but he has done some douchey stuff, not much different from how you think awakening fans are.

what are some of the worst fans of any fandom? pre-awakening elitists. its like you hate broccoli and try to constantly tell others you do. thanks for reminding us why pre-awakening fans can be some of the worst elitists of any fandom and this is coming from someone who played every game released in the west. seriously I get it that you don't like things post-kaga but calling something bad without even owning it or knowing all what's inside is lame. on a more insightful note, the book is surprisingly big judging from all the content its supposed to contain, has it been confirmed that it has fates character artwork like knights of iris had character artwork? I'm so interested in the kozaki interview, hope it gets translated!

well if people are jumping on you always for expressing disappointment then you need to change your attitude, everybody can express disappointment as many have but I've read your other posts, you say things in an annoying and shitty manner (not being hostile but pardon a lack of a better term). i get that you like "neo emblem" (saying that doesn't make you sound cooler btw) less and want more content for the older games (there's plenty out there) but you acted as if all previous books like this were dedicated to "neo emblem" which is the opposite here. and its not one of the "few times older games got content", as I mentioned before the first game had an entire book dedicated to it with tons of artwork and story information, thracia had at least 2 books with artwork and story information. but this is the first time that fates especially had something like this so it just seemed that you were acting "elitist-y", again I'm not being hostile just so you know.

Why not? the older games already had some spotlight with stuff like this, like the 20th anniversary artbook (I would know since I have it) and a bunch of others for each game in the series, heck the first even had an entire book dedicated to it with tons of story details and artwork and background information. awakening had the knights of iris but fates never had anything like this (excluding the special edition artbook which isn't much really). no need to hate on something because it wasn't what you expected and acting like some elitist, you can always buy the other books that were released. you're acting as if the entire book was for awakening and fates, there is content for the older games too (150 out of 350, which is not bad at all).

I don't really have anything major against the current state of the series as I like to approach any change with an open mind. but it would be nice to see some of these -NO MULTIPLE VERSIONS OF ONE GAME, it was cute with fates but I want a proper fire emblem without the need to buy multiple versions of it to fully enjoy it. -bigger, deeper and more branching plots, fates had a very interesting idea but it could have been pushed more, it would be nice to have more different plots and sub plots. -more serious tone like the older games. -I don't know about the whole violence, blood and sex thing but if it was done tastefully and meaningfully (silent hill 2 comes to mind) and not just for the sake of fanservice then that would be great. -less emphasis on the avatar/lord, it would be nice if all characters had more/equal development. -less fanservice in general, no more face rubbing, beach episodes and thong armor, I don't mind fanservice but everything these days is starting to have it. -new artsyle, not saying I don't like awakening/fates' artstyle, I actually really like it but one thing that I like about the series is that after each 2-3 games the artstyle would change. -change marriage and children, I think the marriage system is great because it actually gives some freedom over your units, but make it so that children become playable in a second plot or epilogue, one that takes place after the main game after 20 years or so, also make it less fanservicey in general and without confession scenes. -more supports, especially ones that make sense and less supports for the avatar, one thing I didn't like about supports in awakening was that the characters who should support each other don't, emmeryn couldn't support with chrom, lissa or frederick, say'ri couldn't support with yen'fay, gangrel couldn't support aversa etc. -gay/bi characters, here me out, I have nothing against gay people, but now that fates is the first to have openly bi characters, everyone has and will keep complaining that they should have added more gay characters, handled them better etc. and because of that I don't want IS to be pressured to include a stereotypical gay man and woman in each new game in order to satisfy the shippers, by stereotypical I mean archetype, if the game after fates had a bi/gay man, he would be the "gay guy" from fire emblem 15, I don't mind that fire emblem has gay characters as long as not each new game has to have one and they aren't so obviously stereotypical. -remake all the pre-7 games, weather in kozaki's artstyle or not, I never got to play those and would love to play the japanese only games with revamped graphics, gameplay etc. with all that said, I am super hyped for fates and me being a fire emblem fanatic, I will gladly take anything the series offers!

That's some cool cover art! its a bit weird seeing sigurd since he's not exactly the most popular character from the older games, a bit surprised they didn't include leif but its nice seeing some of the older lords/MCs get some attention. I hope we get more rare concept art like that cover, I don't read japanese but I'm still getting this either way!
