  1. Hello,

    I have a Eur new 3ds Ver. 9.0.0-20E with RxTools 3.0 running RX-E 10.6.0-31E.

I'm installed a patched cia special edition of of Fire emblem If via FBI on my emunand.

I was wondering if I am able to access online features as I am keep receiving the error code 002-0120.

It says I need a newer software of this version and to download the newest version from Eshop. When I access Eshop on my Eur emanand there is no game update.I am puzzled because i thought cias can run online?

    Any help would be appreciated.

You still get streetpass feature but not the online stuff like visiting other castle and such. You need to update EmuNAND in order to get those features, though online is not recommended because swimsuit patch causes crashes to other players.

  2. RELEASE - FIRE EMBLEM FATES: SWIMSUIT RESTORATION

Thanks to the efforts of DeathChaos25, the first release of the Fire Emblem Fates Restoration Project is here!

The patch file can be found in the OP. For patcher use, be sure to decompress the file before having the patcher read it!

Our tutorial is still in the works (A picture version is also being made), so for those HANS users who don't know how to use it, please sit tight! (Or someone here can probably teach you).

    REDIRECT TO OP: CLICK HERE.

How do I make this work with NTR CFW? simply copy the gamedata folder into feif like the other JPN version or I have to wait for specific patch?

edit, now I remember, I need the plugin for that.

  3. So, I've been checking things and... Well, just wanted to make it clear.

If you kinda intended to get the game from the eshop, you're kinda screwed. If you're firmware is up to date, you are also somewhat screwed. And if you aren't screwed, then you have some more annoyances to face each time you boot up the game.

Is that kinda the gist of it?

If you have ReiNAND or EmuNAND to use your own patched .cia then it works just like digital copy and no hassle of patching a second time. This is only if you're on 9.2 firmware

  4. Update:

We have our first patches almost done, they should be ready by the end of this week sometime.

The patches are for name-changing and item-changing. Skills are still under testing.

The accessory shop is still being worked on, so whether or not it gets released is really up to DeathChaos25.

A tutorial for People Who Have Never Hacked™ is also in the works.

I have been waiting for a long time for name changing. Great work! Hopefully I can see it uploaded by the end of today.

  5. Let us all take a day of rest and watch in amusement the Kotaku article that was published about us's comments. Man that shit is hilarious.

I'll take any "shitty" translation over cut and lazy localization "content" any day. Unfortunately publishers like Nintendo has a hardcore defense fanbase who is willing to suck up any to the point they lose to rationalize everything.

Complaining is not going to change anything. Nintendo will continue this tradition until the whole staff changes, fans will defend till death(pretty much every big title has a dedicated fanbase to defend their title and opinions). You guy better just forget and move along. Best luck to your team.

I have successfully patched the special edition and made a .3ds file. However, I cannot get it to start on my sky3ds+ card. Is there a way to fix this?

Sky3DS does not play patched roms or undub. The only alternative way to play your patched file is to convert it into a .cia file, but you need to be on EmuNAND (requires to firmware on 9.2) to install a .cia file.

  6. "You will never understand out tastes".

You do know that you have two people that are more Japanese purist on this thread that speak Japanese and are part of the translation team that you just said that to, yes?

Please stop this debate what decides the factor in how people should play. There are tons of people disregard gameplay for graphic, cuteness for cool, and etc. Your "I have two JPN guys to speak" does not have any significant meaning either. What can he say? People will play what they want it to be. If it doesn't have a certain factor in the game they want, then they will simply just stop playing or outright not to buy it. It's just very simple.

and lastly, are you certain that this thread is actually about content and delocalization, not how you should play and disregard A B C, or "Your taste is shit, stop playing the game" ? If you guys still want to argue which is better, please make another thread. This is just too silly, and it is going to be even more stupid if you guys don't stop.

  7. That was my intent, yes. Games have a lot more to them than voice acting.

If the JP version didn't exist and the NA version was exactly as it is now, then the NA version would be the "authentic" experience, even completely unchanged. Authenticity for the sake of authenticity is silly- while the JP version has many subjective advantages over the NA one, it being authentic has no bearing on how good it is either. And if an issue like voice acting is enough to make the NA version unplayable, all the authenticity in the world isn't going to save the JP version from issues of similar scope in different places.

If you can't deal with issues of that scope, the JP version won't satisfy you.

Wow, let's just drop the topic here shall we? I just want to hear news about progress here. However, there are few reasons I can relate to the fact that games can feel unplayable where the voices are changed for the sake of keeping budget down or whatever reason it is, especially when the original feels "subjectively" superior to the localized one. (When one already feels this there is no point to argue this) This is the age of internet where people can bother to look at the original work instead of enjoying the meal without knowing the deal.

There has been so many cases for me that I dropped the games I bought because of horrible English acting, and then picked up again with undub version to enjoy it. English is not native language, so there is no reason for me and I can assume many other people do not feel attached to English voice acting either. Especially in environments where people grew up with Japanese so they get used to that much more better. However, this is just a problem for minority community, so that explains why JPN dub is not priority for some companies. If you can't understand why people can't stand English dub then it's fine, there is no need to say "it won't satisfy you either way" because it DOES satisfy them. Dub vs sub debate has been never solved in any argument.

  8. That's a shame. Just so you guys know, if your expectations of this game are so high that one small aspect of it being imperfect can make it not worth playing, you might as well save your time and not even bother with the game at all, patched or not- it has plenty of (major) unrelated issues this patch won't do anything to change. For that matter, you might as well give up games alltogether, because nothing's going to meet expectations that high.

The patch is very nice and for many people is a definite improvement to the game, but if you react that badly to perceived flaws, it's not going to be enough to make it playable. So chill and appreciate the game for what it is, k?

I am pretty much chilling playing other games instead, but I can totally understand their frustrations about changes that change the entire characters' origins and supports. The voice issue can be somewhat fixed with undub patch even though it is still not perfect. I would say just let them vent frustration in other threads, you guys' work is the only thing that is gonna stop them anyways. I am just hoping you guys finish the translation for JPN version, which is the easiest way to restore all features without voice glitches.

  9. Thank you very much for all the work into this patch. I am running it right now in Birthright using HANS.

    Two quick questions:

-Is there a list of which supports have been translated in the 3.0 patch and which haven't?

-Some of the character speech in my castle is in Japanese. Is this not translated yet, or is it me screwing up something with my patching?

Only 10% of all Supports have been translated in patch 3.0, so you're fine. I don't know if we are getting full translation for supports by the time official NA releases or in next patch, so don't count on my words entirely.

  10. How far? We've done all the storylines, DLC is almost done. It's been decided in the group that we're just going to scrub the NA supports - meaning, we'll look at them and fix them and add them as the final fan-translation patch (we don't have enough resources to really finish this on our own, we have lives too).

So after the NA release, that is. Also, WHICH patch?

He probably meant the patch for JPN release's translation status for supports. It looks like it is the least priority because there are so many of them. I take that it will never get finished anytime soon after official NA release?

  11. if that happens, we normally have to stop to work on this project.

Fortunately we've finished all Chapter-Translations so normally we only have to work on the Supports now.

If we really have to stop to work on this project because of a C&D by Nintendo, they can't stop people playing our patch.

Why? Because the files are already online and everyone has access to them :P

(sorry if my english sucks today... tired as fu**)

I am pretty sure once you uploaded new patch it will live on forever on *beep* disregarding whether Nintendo is pissed off or not. I (and many others) hope you guys will finish with 100% before that case might happen.

  12. If it's true that they removed that, odds are they did it the lazy way and just removed the option from a menu somewhere, leaving all the assets behind (games are full of unused content as-is, and if you were a dev you wouldn't want to risk breaking something else by removing stuff you didn't need to).

    http://kotaku.com/the-english-version-of-fire-emblem-fates-wont-have-the-1755121353

It has been confirmed that they removed it just like everyone predicted. I doubt a uncen patch will come to Western release because it will release a lot of works, along with rewriting the scripts for one of companions' conversation about protag drugging her. I hope I'm wrong but no one knows until the game releases anyways. I am just waiting for new patch with all support conversations to translate now.

  13. Can you cite a source on the bathhouse removal? I remember the bathhouse being mentioned in the IGN footage, which would suggest that it wasn't removed.

(Also it isn't really a mini-game, its more of a repeatable event. Agarest 2 had an actual mini-game with their bathhouse).

My apology, it's not confirmed to be removed but it's very likely. Unlike Agarest, the publisher is Nintendo which is definitely strict on any that is related to nudity. I won't be surprised if they have to remove that feature.

  14. The last update was around a week ago, and while it's mostly finished there's still a lot being done with supports and cleaning stuff up, so yes, it's very much alive.

And most people here don't care about the official release- the team has said they'll be making an anti-localization patch for the Eng version as well to fix everything NoA screws up (such as names and inevitable censorship).

Do you know what they are going to censor? I know they changed few characters' names and removed the bathhouse mini game but that's it.

  15. There are a bunch translated and in the current patch, it's just that there are a lot of support conversations and between all the possible unit combinations, the odds that you have a few of the translated ones are low. Only two or three of my dozens of unlocked supports so far have been translated. I believe 132 of all the possible combinations have been translated and are in the current patch.

I do believe though that the supports are translated in full for each pairing though, so if one conversation is translated then all the further ones for those two units are also done.

Thank you, I was worried if I was doing something wrong, since none of my support companions' conversations with protag is translated after I got to the Hoshido's castle first time, which is very early of the game.

  16. Hi guys, good work on the translation patch so far!

I have a question about the support translations though. The first few lines in your first page says you have lots of support translated, but in the FAQ says the conversations are not. I decided to try you guys' patches with EmuNAND and NTR CFW. After getting through mandatory tutorials which are nicely translated, I took a few looks at the first support conversations in Hoshido part and none of them is translated at all. So I just want to be clear that you guys actually hasn't put in the translated support conversation, right?
