As a well known Japanese speaker here.... My general view of this whole obssession with "censorship" is:

"Why don't you buy the game and find out?"

There is a very simple answer to that.
I don't want to support censorship, the annoying removal of content and change in character personality. So buying the game and finding out, like you suggest would mean that if there was content censored that it would be too late to get my money back and I would have supported something that I don't agree with.
    It's that simple.

  2. So after finding out how much fates got censored I've been super pissed with Nintendo and flat out said I will not buy their games if they kept censoring shit, removing content or changing characters personalities.

Could anyone tell me how "severe" it is? If there is any at all? or if any of the characters have had their personalities rewritten entirely? I know that in fates it was very bad since Nintendo localised the game themselves (booo) but this time they used the same company that did awakening.

  3. I recommend checking out my partner seal chart. You can find the link in my signature... Second gen units will require some calculations however, since their pair up bonuses depend on the chosen parent.

Check these pages to do so...

    http://serenesforest.net/fire-emblem-fates/hoshidan-characters/supports/support-bonus/

Uh, I'm looking at it but it's rather confusing. Finding out which stats they give isn't hard, I can just pair them up quickly and see.

What I have trouble finding out is WHICH stats benefit them the most. Currently I just look at if they need Str or mag as that is the only obvious thing I can figure out. I have no idea if any specific characters has some weaknesses that needs fixing ( besides ignatius and his unfixable low speed, so for him I focus on str/def or res in pair ups)

  4. Okey, this isn't a question about finding the right mother for the right child, but a question about figuring out which 1st gen or 2nd gen unit gives the kids the best stats when paired up.

2nd generation units don't get 3rd generation units, but the A/S supports should still give extra stats.

    For example, I have
Nyx!Rhajat and Elise!Ophelia pair up ( both witches atm )

Random-Basara paired up with Miracle Midori

For the moment, Ignatius with Caeldori in order to give her some str and def

But yeah, this is my list so far

    - Camilla!Velouria
    - Elise!Ophelia

    - Sakura!Forrest

    - Setsuna!Selkie

    - Nyx!Rhajat

    - Effie!Percy

    - Mozu!Midori

    - Beruka!Ignatius

    - Felicia!Nina

    - Orochi!Asugi

    - Charlotte!Siegbert

    - Hinoka!Caeldori

    - Oboro!Kiragi

Would anyone help me figure out which 1st gen or 2nd gen units should pair up with the 2nd gen units in order to give them the best stats?

  5. I think they would. If your child units are missing a skill or a class they want, remember you can marry them to each other for more classes. Also, other My Castles have the skills available for you.

The good thing is that only certain children can be screwed up and even then they are hard to mess up and can be versatile. So, have fun with the pairings.

hmmm, well I'm not really interested in Hisame and I DO want Shigure. Kaden is with Setsuna and keaton with Camilla and Kaze with Mozu, only other unit with speed would be Silas but it doesn't look like Azura would be a good mother for Sophie = /. I could perhaps go Azura!Shiro and then have Kagero!Mitama

    Done Hinoka!Caeldori tho

  6. I would honestly do Takumi/Hana. She gives him the Samurai line and good STR and SPD growths at the cost of DEF, which shouldn't matter if you plan to keep him in a ranged class. Oboro/Hinata gives Hisame some rather balanced stats. He gets the Spear Fighter line, which gives access to debuff moves and Rend Heaven along with Quixotic. Laslow/Peri gives Soliel the Cavalier class and gives her balanced stats as well. I would personally put Kagero or Rinkah with either Ryoma or Asama; Mitama benefits from a STR-based mother despite starting in a MAG-based class. I would do Rinkah/Asama and Kagero/Ryoma. Also, I would do Selena/Silas and Tsubaki/Hinoka; if you are keen on doing the whole Caeldori!Selena, you can just swap them around.

    Those are my suggestions.

I could easily beat the main game with what I have now so my aim is for PVP and an apotheosis team if such a map would ever be released. Do you think your suggestions would fit into either of these sections?

  7. Nyx!Rhajat first. I don't know how a crit-build Elise!Ophelia works (I've only done it with Orochi!Ophelia). Although, she probably makes the best use of Awakening since we can't farm the Exalt Brands atm. Also, I'd recommend you give Nyx!Rhajat hit-rate assisting Skills if you haven't already. Its one of her few flaws. I'd get Ophelia a Witch Mark later and Nina is another candidate with the proper mom. If you cannot get a Witch Mark for a while, Dark Falcon is a viable alternative with good MAG, SPD, RES, and MOV. Its is hardly a mixed class unless used by Asugi and can A-Rank Tomes. Bolt Naginata is useful for WTA.

Okey, witch on Rhajat first then, and also certain blows I guess.

Ophelia will get exalts brand because I'ma try that and then later reclassed to sorcerer and finally witch too.

Niles isn't married yet but I WILL have him married to someone. Still need to get Nina's and Asugi's spd statue for my dodge tank selkie.

  8. So I just got Witch's mark. Curently I only have one but I bought the map pack 1 and I'm pretty sure it's in there so I'll be able to get more later so I can use it on both of my main magic units. But for the time being I only have 1 mark and I don't know who to use it on first. Candidates:

    Nyx!Rhajat
Elise!Ophelia (might also use exalts brand on her first so she gets awakening, and then goes witch, as awakening might pair really well with her personal)

  9. Well, miracle Midori would Love getting Awakening since her HP are most of the time below half. +30 Hit/Avo/Krit is deadly.

Someone mentioned it was good on Ophelia too, due to her personal skill and I do think it might be better there, but on the other hand someone like Ophelia could easily get 1 shot while Midori would at least survive and gain benefit due to miracle. Urgh, hard to chose.

Also, thanks for the 4+ luck skill, got it for Midori now. Just have to figure out who to give her that'd still work with her miracle build

I personally put Lodestar on Laslow every time I can. But that's kinda bias on my side I guess.

I see a lot of people using Lawlow as their rally bot due to his personal, so having him be a falcon knight or something with a lot of mobility would be better I think. So I do think I'll put lodestar on Xandar, or perhaps Siegbert.

  10. What I'd recommend on the pairing end:

    Kagero!Shiro

    Hinoka!Siegbert

Oboro/Rinkah!Caeldori (Rinkah can go to Jakob)

Azura/Hana!Soleil (Hana can go to Takumi. Azura as well although I highly recommend Azura!Soleil)

    Felicia!Nina (Or Elise!Nina and do Felicia!Ophelia)

Setsuna/Effie!Mitama (I'd give Effie to Arthur)

Aether is very good for Siegbert (Midori's Pair-Up Bot) due to the Sol part restoring HP.

Awakening is good on Ophelia due to her Personal Skill which enhances her Critical Hit chance.

Who are the candidates that can be used as a pair-up bot for midori? Is it just any basara with plenty of activate skills or does it HAVE to be hinoka!siegbert?

  11. Well, miracle Midori would Love getting Awakening since her HP are most of the time below half. +30 Hit/Avo/Krit is deadly.

I'm not sure but I think I've seen 2 different miracle midori builds or something. The other one said you'd need mozi!Siegbert and other weird stuff that needs to pair up with midori. Which I think is a waste.

    So far I have:

    Miracle

    Hoshidan Unit

    Quixotic

(I'm guessing these are the 3 most important ones)

    Missing:

    4+ luck

??? ( I don't know if there is another skill that is mandatory, but if not I could perhaps put in awakening as the last skill)

I always like giving Awakening to my +SPD Swordmaster Femui. Awakening + Vantage really messes people up. As for Lodestar, I really like it on Xander (the class does wonders to fix his SPD issues), but it might be good on Manui as well. Generally, actually, it's pretty much a very slightly slower, very slightly bulkier Swordmaster.

Also, you can get unlimited Aether Scrolls from the Vanguard Dawn DLC, so unless you're doing a no-DLC run, you don't need to worry about who you put it on. Awakening is the juicy part there.

My MU is Male, +spd -mag swordmaster purely to give selkie as much +spd and luck during pair up bonus so can't give it to him and even if I could it'd be a waste since he's a skill bot slave to his waifu. But Noted, I'll consider hero's brand on Xander. should I reclass him after he gets the skills or should he just stay in this class?

  12. So from what I've read and heard, Aether and awakening cannot be passed down nor be learned from my castle battles. So I can't just pass the exalt and hero's brand around like it's candy with no regard for who actually benefits from them.

I've thought of getting it for my MU. He has Dragon Fang, Astra, Luna, Pavise and Aegis. I figured i could replace it with Luna or pavise or aegis. My Selkie has nohrian trust and 4 breaker skills so she makes good use of my MU's skills. But yeah, are there specific characters who get more benefit out of it or do I just give it to whoever I want?

These are the kids I have planned for btw:

    Beruka!Ignatius
    Camilla!Velouria

    Mozu!Midori(miracle build)

    Nyx!Rhajat ( witch or a sorcerer )

    Elise!Ophelia ( witch or a sorcerer)

Charlotte!Siegbert ( this isn't set in stone yet)

Rinkah!Shiro ( not set in stone yet either)

    Setsuna or Hinoka!Caeldori

I also want Soliel, Nina, and Mitama. The others I'm less interested in for the time being.

  13. The inheritance planner shows growths like that Growth(mod), not the max stats. You mixed everything and i have no idea how you manage to not see it...

    11akei9.jpg

So when it says 77,5 spd, you're saying it's referring to growth % and not the actual maximum stat cap? So the stat caps would be the numbers in green and red? Would it have killed them to make it easier to identify? Just ad a % in there so it wouldn't confuse people.

Urgh, fuck me. I guess seeing people with really high stats in online battles without realizing they were hacked must have screwed with my perception of the stat cap.

  14. In terms of maxed-out stat caps a difference of a point or two here and there probably doesn't matter. Caps only matter a lot when they're bad or when you're trying to stack for a very high value in a specific stat (e.g. if you want a Speed character who will double anybody in MP). Especially when looking at offensive stats, with procs and crits and such being what they are a point or two of Strength or Defense probably isn't changing outcomes a ton against other maxed-out units, unless you're a Def-stacked Kana or somesuch.

That said +1/+2 to a stat can make a lot of difference in-game. Tonics are huge in Conquest for example and I get the sense certain maps are assuming you're clever enough to use them as there's a few instances where a tonic on Camilla or Xander completely changes how they perform (e.g. a Magic Tonic on 10 turning Camilla's tome from a questionable EP weapon to a ORKO machine, or Strength/Speed/Defense Tonics on Xander generally).

In the case of a hypothetical Fates Apotheosis map, you'd just dump one of every tonic and a meal on everybody anyway, so 1-2 stat points will be barely noticeable unless the map has some really anal breakpoints for stuff like doubling or tanking damage.

Not exactly sure what MP stands for.

But for both in-game purposes (something like apotheosis) AND pvp I take it you're basically saying those 2,5 in spd & luck aren't worth it compared to the 17,5 str & 7,5 skl , especially considering Selkie's spd stat would already be 80+. I don't think there is going to be ANY character that is not hacked who could double down on her or using another super gimicky set-up.

Also, how much hit% would other opponents have in pvp anyway? Considering there would be a lot of other people who have min/maxed certain stats I'm wondering if they'd have enough hit % to reliably hit a dodge tank selkie with such high spd stat. Don't forget she also has 4 breaker skills. Won't remove the Nohrian trust skill otherwise her dmg would be crippled a lot. If I had to remove it I'd definitely have to go with Hana!Selkie to raise the dmg output so she actually makes a dent on attackers.

EDIT: I edited the post above and the original post. I forgot to also take into consideration the stat bonus selkies beaststone+ gives her, which is another 6+ in spd. We're basically up at 90 spd or so.

  15. You should be fine with Setsuna!Selkie. Hana goes really well with Takumi or Lazlow. I'd recommend giving Azura to the one who doesn't get Hana. Mozu also works well with Takumi. Your Setsuna!Selkie specializes in making you opponent super mad in PvP. She is the true reliable dodge-tank in Fates. (I run it myself! :D)

Well the reason why I made this thread is to find out exactly how much more those 2-3+ stats are worth.

    Lets recap!

    • MU has +spd / -mag
    • That's +1 to lck & spd in support bonus
    • MU is Swordmaster
    • That means he should give her a total of +6 spd & +4 lck
    • Skills:
    • Luna
    • Astra
    • Dragon Fang
    • Pavise
    • Aegis ( Pavise and Aegis could be changed to Sol and aether or lethality since Selkie already had plenty of spd and breaker skills which in itself is defensive?)

    Setsuna!Selkie has:

    • HP 42,5 / str 35 / mag 7,5 / skl 47,5 / spd 77,5 / lck 55 / def 22,5 / res 65
    • Skills:
    • Nohrian Trust (from my castle)
    • SwordBreaker
    • AxeBreaker
    • LanceBreaker
    • BowBreaker

    With MU pair up she'd have 83,5 spd & 59 lck and with BOTH battle & visitation seal she'd have a total stat count of HP 42,5 / str 37 / mag 9,5 / skl 49,5 / spd 85,5 / lck 61 / def 24,5 / res 67

    Hana!Selkie has:

    • HP 40 / str 52,5 / mag 12,5 / skl 55 / spd 75 / lck 52,5 / def 25 / res 60
    • Skills:
    • Nohrian Trust (from my castle)
    • SwordBreaker
    • AxeBreaker
    • LanceBreaker
    • BowBreaker

    With MU pair up she'd have 81 spd & 56,5 lck and with BOTH battle and visitation seal she'd have a total stat count of HP 40 / str 54,5 / mag 14,5 / skl 57 / spd 83 / lck 58,5 / def 27 / res 62

So regardless of which mother I take she will obviously be a godly dodge tank that people can't touch as she'd have 80+ in spd. However i am here to find out if that 2,5 in spd & lck is that much better and more important than the 17,5 str & 7,5 skl.

I feel like that she's already at such high spd stat that it'd be okey to sacrifice a lil spd and luck for a good chunk more str and skill that directly translates into much more dmg, but I don't have 2 save files with the respective stats to find out just how big a difference the spd & lck stats make. I mean if it'd be something like 1 % less chance to get hit then I'd say it's obviously going to be better to go for more dmg but if its something like 5% less chance to be hit then I'd go for the spd & lck.

    EDIT:

Holy shit, question, does the inheritence planner site also take into consideration the weapons you give your units?

If not then I forgot to take into consideration the BEATSTONE+ weapon which gives selkie another 8+ skl & 6+spd, that means her total spd could get all the way up to 91,5 spd as setsuna!Selkie vs 89 spd. On top of that the weapon also gives her 10+ to dodge.

  16. Anna should be used for one thing and one thing only, maximizing profits. Her personal skill generates money on kill so I use her as a galeforce finisher. Give her profiteer and watch her rake in those dollar signs. Recommend Merchant, Maid or Dark Falcon for the high luck stats

But can't you just do the DLC that drops gold? Unless she generates a lot more money that sort of feels redundant.

  17. Not much. Tonics and meals make +1 anything a bit pointless to fret over. + 1 speed is about the only one that really makes a difference if the character has borderline speeds. Other than that, it's pretty pointless.
Edited the post in order to make it easier for people to see what I'm writing about.

    Bump:

Wanna know if it's worth it to restart on revelations or not for the above mentioned reasons. If not I'll just continue with my current save =o

MODEDIT: don't bump after like an hour dude come on

Double edit: I'm so impatient tho =(

  18. At what point does a stat make a difference?

(I keep updating the Original post so people don't have to read through all of the stuff I write in the thread)

    Recap:

    • MU has +spd / -mag
    • That's +1 to lck & spd in support bonus
    • MU is Swordmaster
    • That means he should give her a total of +6 spd & +4 lck
    • Skills:

    • Astra
    • Dragon Fang
    • Pavise
    • Aegis ( Pavise and Aegis could be changed to Sol and aether or lethality since Selkie already had plenty of spd and breaker skills which in itself is defensive?)

    Setsuna!Selkie has:

    • HP 42,5 / str 35 / mag 7,5 / skl 47,5 / spd 77,5 / lck 55 / def 22,5 / res 65
    • Skills:
    • Nohrian Trust (from my castle)
    • SwordBreaker
    • AxeBreaker
    • LanceBreaker
    • BowBreaker

    With MU pair up she'd have 83,5 spd & 59 lck and with BOTH battle & visitation seal she'd have a total stat count of HP 42,5 / str 37 / mag 9,5 / skl 49,5 / spd 85,5 / lck 61 / def 24,5 / res 67

    Hana!Selkie has:

    • HP 40 / str 52,5 / mag 12,5 / skl 55 / spd 75 / lck 52,5 / def 25 / res 60
    • Skills:
    • Nohrian Trust (from my castle)
    • SwordBreaker
    • AxeBreaker
    • LanceBreaker
    • BowBreaker

    With MU pair up she'd have 81 spd & 56,5 lck and with BOTH battle and visitation seal she'd have a total stat count of HP 40 / str 54,5 / mag 14,5 / skl 57 / spd 83 / lck 58,5 / def 27 / res 62

So unless the inheritance planner website shows max stats without weapons, then that means we can still give her a BEATSTONE+, which would give her 8+ skl & 6+ spd.
Ultimatly bringing it up to 91,5 spd as Setsuna!Selkie vs 89 spd as Hana!Selkie

So regardless of which mother I take she will obviously be a godly dodge tank that people can't touch. However i am here to find out if that 2,5 in spd & lck is that much better and more important than the 17,5 str & 7,5 skl.

EDIT: Well seem like I fucked up big time and there was a misunderstanding. I thought that the double digit numbers shown in the inheritance planner were stat caps, turns out they were stat growth %.

  19. What Chromagna said. Anna's big weakness - similar to Flora, Gunter, and the like - is their lack of supports, thus they have an extremely limited classpool. There is also the fact that Anna has stats slanted towards the magical side, so she's going to need a magic weapon to really shine (get it? Because "Shining B-" nevermind). If you DO give her a Shining Bow, she works well as an Adventurer (and can profit from the extremely good skills her other two class lines give), but you can also make her a Strategist or something if you really want to. Or Maid Anna with a Flame Shuriken.

Either that or you go full DLC on her with Dark Falcon and Witch. Both are decent choices for her.

I see, thank you. I'll keep this in mind.

  20. Because of her lack of supports, she can be lacklustre but she makes an excellent mother for M-Kanna. Because she is more magic based, you could make her a witch when the DLC comes out or keep her as an adventurer with a shining bow with staffs for support. She is a decent unit, yes she does get out-shined by others but I think that she is worth using if you use her for Kanna or as a support. Then again, falcon knights are generally the best supports.

I've read that Nina with a magic mom would outshine Anna as a shining bow user tho. I guess Anna's just added for the sake for adding her = /
