The first thing Miranda says when you rescue her is that she looks like a wreck
-
UK leaves; NL, FR, possibly others follow; the United States's greatest ally balkanizes; Russia rises in regional power

Real hard to decide between 4 and 7, but I feel like the esteem for 7 has dropped off a lot since 4 or 5 years ago.

YOU GET MOTHERFUCKING MIRANDA YO
Seriously though Ch 17b is the easiest thing
-
Probably because Marcus is the best everything in the game.
-
probably not allowed to post my choice omegle transcripts

Am I getting the "unit allegiance is directly proportional to looks" vibe? Totally.
The music is amazing, and I really hope Kaga wouldn't be horribly offended if an English patch came out for this!
Would there be enough interest for an English patch? Berwick never got off the ground in that regard. (I'd volunteer to help)

As I mentioned elsewhere, this looks swag as fuck

Looks swag as fuck, is it coming out for console or digital distribution?

But some of your criticism apply to every Video Game ever made, like why doesn't Nergal send his most powerful generals to get Nils and Ninian, which the answer to is because it is a Video Game.
In Chapter 3 of Sacred Stones, Vigarde assigns Glen and Valter to capture Eirika and Ephraim.

Would it be an unpopular opinion that I really don't get the amount of criticism the story of 7 gets? Its a competent escalation of events from fighting bandits to corrupt nobles, an assassin guild all the way to the evil sorcerer pulling the strings. That and the smaller, more personal scale does make it stand out among the other stories.
The world building is definitely up to snuff thanks to the focus on only three countries. As a result all three are reasonably fleshed out.
You gotta read my QUINTESSENCE? DON'T UNDERSTAND thread
I claim credit for singlehandedly changing people's views on FE7's story, yes that was me I did it

Simply making more of everything won't do anything.

I don't think Eliwood is much better than Roy really, he has the same problem of mediocre bases (doesn't double, gets 2-3HKOd, 2-3HKOs back, 1 range locked). Roy's game just has harder enemies.
I mean, how a good a unit is is defined by their enemies. Otherwise FERD characters would all be the best in the series, but they just have stronger enemies to deal with.

Don't look at the mercenaries

Denning is like the original Fire Emblem meme. He's a meme inside the context of the game, repeatedly vapidly until the original context has no further meaning. He's coincidentally the best character in FE7.
Gheb was pretty memeful back in the old days. GhebFE is basically MemeFE, after all.
3-13 Archer
Glass, Batta the Beast

I like the lords who are bad combatwise, and seem more like glorified tacticians you have to cart around (Roy). It adds challenge to the game and feels more authentic.

Kaga is a notorious recluse. The things we don't know about him (why he left the company, for instance) are almost more a history than an actual history would be.

Libra, Don DeLillo.

While not the easiest game to dodgetank due to 1 RN, defensive stats in Thracia are unreliable due to their low caps and the multitude of ways for enemies to bypass defense altogether, making avoid a critically important stat.

I gained an appreciation for her after a few rounds of SS female only. Snowballs well and carries hard.
I get the feeling that run is the Vanessa and Lute show
-
Lute top tier, #1 prodigy, 420 no scope dankmemer

I think a lot of these would make cool ideas for hacks/FEXNA projects. I would love to remake SS to be told from L'Arachel's perspective, for example.
GhebFE
Do you like the Kaga era or post-Kaga era more?

Personally I'd say there's three eras: Kaga (1 through 5), Post-Kaga (6 through 10), and Post-Post-Kaga (11 through 14). I would actually say there was an even larger pivot in terms of gameplay and story philosophy between Radiance Saga and Awakening than between Thracia and 6.
No era has a consistent strength or weakness--FE4 has basically garbage story, characters, and gameplay, but Thracia has a pretty decent story and the best gameplay in the series. Post-Kaga plots range from the best in the series with 8 and 9 to confused messes in 7 and 10. I don't even think it's a matter of ambition or risk taking--FERD was far more ambitious and risky than FE4, for instance. Post-Kaga gameplay tends to be pretty uninspired. Meanwhile, Post-Post-Kaga (or rather, Post-2007-companywide-Intsys-failure) sees a pivot toward absolutely no story emphasis (which was also seen in pretty much all of Intsys's properties post-2007) but with a lot of advancements and experiments in gameplay that keep the games pretty refreshing.
