Thanks for both answers - trying to marry them so pairing for that reason - once married, I will use them separate but next to each other... forgot about Nosferatu

I have finally started spending some real time with this game and am enjoying it immensely - I have just finsihed Chapter 13, I have most of the characters married, and half have reached 20 and been promoted. I finally understand the pairing and the advantages but one thing I can not figure out how to do is heal within a pair. I have Henry and Maribelle paired, and Henry takes some damage. Should I be able to heal Henry with Maribelle without unpairing them?

I would like to actually start at the beginning and play all the Fire Emblem games in order - I am in the US. I believe the titles include: Fire Emblem (GBA) Sacred Stones (GBA) Path of Radiance (GC) Radiant Dawn (Wii) Shadow Dragon (DS) Awakenings (3DS) Fates (3DS) Did I miss any? Do they tell a continuous story and should they be played in order? I have the game carts for all the handheld games, what would be the best way to play the Gamecube and Wii games? Virtual console? Emulator? Thanks!!!

Hi all - I have played some of the previous installments of Fire Emblem and I just started with Birthright, but I have some questions: 1) I am on Chapter 12 I believe - the ship - and I am finding many of my characters are underleveled for this Chapter - what is the best way to grind levels? Scout for battles? Paralogues? The downloadable maps? 2) I have all 4 amiibos for this game - last night I scanned Ike and got the two pieces of armor and now have his Hero Battle but I am still outleveled - again need to grind - are all the amiibo hero battles higher than level 14? 3) How do I know what types of units I want to group up - to this point I have been making sure I have units in adjacent squares so they group attack but I have not actually paired anyone up - should I be and if so, what types of units should be pairing up? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide...
